Hehehehe... how will they know that you lied about it when you didn't mention it anywhere that you have a sibling. If you haven't mentioned it before on your DS160 that you have a sibling there, they won't know bro.

What are you saying? Don't you have a surname? didn't you input important details like your mother's maiden name? What did you think those where for?
Mehm..do whatever suits you though! What do I know.

If this your first attempt don’t mention her, if it’s second attempt and you have identify with anybody in US before mention her.

You MUST tell them If they ask you, if they don't, then no need to say anything, if you lie about it, you visa will definitely be denied.

But the address says Lugbe... which is a satellite town outside the central district area... has anyone here used this hotel?

Don't try it, it's a bit far and traffic prone in the morning. You better add 2- 3 k for a hotel in Area 1, 2, 3 or 10, try Power Mike in Garki Area 1.

Good luck.

*FINIS*

*Personal tip:*
Start early, don't be in a haste else you blur your chances. (I took me 3 solid years) prepare well, fast and pray, as a Catholic I had to do some long novenas, avoided all the daughter's of eve that came calling to come to my house and massage me grin

Secondly, guys grace works, but you have to do the work especially your DS160 form (make sure infos rhyme with your previous interview forms), take your time and fill it well. But above all pray, fast and fervently ask for uncommon favour and grace.

While at the US embassy, I noticed that all the embassy staff including the V.O were extremely kind and polite towards me, unlike in my first interview. I went to this interview more spiritually prepared than ever. Only God saw me true. Jesus Christ owes all the credit.

Thanks you all for everything. I can’t thank Fairheart and everyone on NL that has contributed positively enough for all the love and support.

DON'T EVER EVER GIVE UP.

God bless you all

Thanks for your response. Then I can use the new DS-160, but the barcode number of the old DS160 is appearing on my scheduled appointment.

Update using the new DS 160 code with that your appointment should automatically update to the new barcode. Best wishes!

Good Day all. Please kindly give the best advise.
I filled my DS-160 form without submitting because I have deferred my admission till January 2022 since there was no date to reapply for Fall 2021. I have been waiting for my updated I-20 to update my DS-160 but now it is over 30 days I filled the DS160 form. I cannot retrieve the form anymore for update and I have used the DS 160 Reference number to pick interview date in December 2021. What can I do without making payment for another VISA FEE? Is there anyway I can fill new DS-160 and LINK it with the initial one?
Please advise

Don't stress, just fill a new DS-160 and update your cgi profile. Best wishes.

Again, I am not igbo and I am not Yoruba. I don't care about tribal anything, I just don't like misinformation

I don't know them on personal level, maybe you do or it appears you have done your homework... What I was really emphasizing is that there should be less scrutiny of people's tribes cos it takes much more than tribe or ethnicity to succeed in this life. But then again this is Nairaland. undecided

That’s because they are not really Yoruba. Their parents used someone’s passport to travel to greece and got stuck with that name. They are igbos.

Think about it, no real Yoruba person will dumped his name just like that.

1. None of the kids have any Yoruba name as first name or middle name

2. Their first brother has a full igbo first name and surname

3. They have never mentioned where in yoruba land they are from. When asked, they simply say they are from Lagos.

4. Looking at their dad’s picture, it is very clear he is an igbo man

People travelled using fake kpali to get a better life in europe, but their kids turned out to become superstars and they are stuck with the fake name (Adetokunbo) that the parents used to travel and seek asylum in europe

Stop this tribal madness, how will Mr Charles Adetokumbo being "Igbo" add millions to your bank account? Instead of you to draw valuable lesson from the indefatigable spirit of their parents who ventured into uncharted waters to give their sons a better life, you are here arguing the unarguable.
Stop being an embarrassment!
How can you accurately know a man's tribe by his physiognomy alone?
Mr Charles is a Yoruba man married to Mrs Victoria an Igbo woman case closed. #SickNLDTribalists!

Congratulations to the phenomenal 2x MVP, Greek freak Giannis Sina Ugo Atetokuonmpo, his brother Thatanis Atetokuonmpo and Nigeria's Jordan Ifeanyi Nwora for being the NBA 2021 Champions. This makes Nwora the 2nd Nigerian to win the title after the legendary Hakeem 'the dream' Olajuwon.

Politics / Re: The Coming Of Kano-Kaduna Modern Railway & Its Social & Economic Significance by BARISTAMandela(m): 4:56am On Jul 15, 2021
Ibkhaleel:
The North is far bigger in land mass & population than the South.
It has the highest number of states & local governments.
The North has some of the most powerful governors, senators, federal appointees, politicians both serving & retired in Nigeria.
The North also has the richest men & biggest captains of industry in Nigeria.
It has the highest number of military Generals both serving & retired.
The North equally has its fair share of reknown & accomplished academics in Nigeria & abroad in foreign universities.
It has reknown religious scholars & fiery clerics as well as its fair share of unrepentant religious fundamentalists, radicals, hoodlums, criminals & terrorists.
Inspite of all these, watch that whatever positions are zoned to them come 2023, they will choose, present & support their candidate seamlessly with less or no friction, rancour, dirty fight in public or the pages of newspapers & without assassinating each other. They understand politics & leadership. It's no coincidence therefore, that they have what they have. Islam is what regulates them and make them peaceful and never care to address the dirty lies, slander and insults from southerners online.
But you see this presidency of Nigeria Southerners are threatening everybody that they must have come 2023;
this 2023 presidency useless Southern governors & politicians are galivanting up & down insisting they must have -- governors & politicians whose only idea of governance is to issue press statements every month on Fulani herdsmen, cattle grazing & 2023 presidency to distract their gullible state citizens from the resources & allocations of their states they have stolen with nothing to show for it;
you will see how these Southern governors & greedy power drunk Southern politicians will kill & destroy each other just to pick & present one presidential candidate.
Watch how they will burn down the South with insecurity on the eve of 2023 as all these militias, unknown gunmen, Amotekun, Ebube Agu, ESN, OPC, Cult gangs, the various states police & vigilantes in the South will get new sponsors in these Southern governors & politicians as well as new sophisticated weapons from them as they jostle to eliminate each other & weaken the political base of their opponents to be able to pick the presidential ticket for themselves.
The sad shame however is that after destroying themselves, The Southern homeland, wasting the resources of Southern states & the lives of Southern misguided youths just to pick a presidential ticket, they will still turn back & blame the North for the destruction their unbridled greed for power for selfish ends brought on the South.
You see this Southern presidential agitations...
Well, enough said already!

You made no valid point. All you did was postulate without premises and valid conclusion. Your evil vision for a segment of your country will consume you before 2023, just watch and see. Evil genus.

The man Tinubu is a very cunning politician. Tinubu/ Ganduje ticket might go through the only obstacle is the primary ticket from the APC. As it seems PDP is fading out.

Really?? You wanna vote Tinubu/Ganduje? Now I know why Nigeria/Africa is still underdeveloped. If a supposed educated and young Nigerian can conceive this kind of thought, then no need to ask questions why 38% are happily unemployed. Mental Slavery is indeed worst than cancer!

Please o lawyers, are these sharia laws binding on non-Muslims in Kano?

Sharia law which is a muslim personal law is not applicable to a non-muslim.(don't be a fool this is in theory).
Infact when harassed you can sue under Chapter 4 of the 1999 CFRN as amended. However, before you approach the Federal or State High court to ventilate your grievance, rabid mob of hollier-than-Mohammed-and-all-Arabs Kano youths must have beaten you to pulp while you wait for the final guillotine treatment deserving of a freaking "arne", if you are lucky your ghost can make it to court on the next adjourned date grin

Guys, I need an answer to my dilemma, Please?

BARISTAMandela:
Please I'm in a bad fix, my i20 just arrived with my uncle name affixed as my sponsor. The plot twist is that the school delayed the i20 for so long that we almost gave up, Babaa said he has used up to 70% of the money in the statement he gave me during admission and i20 request for business and won't be expecting any more funds till late September... Unfortunately, my school resumes by first week of August. I have an Aunty willing to assist me with remaining COA which is $37k,no had 38k funding, please what's the best thing to do in this dicey situation?
Please, I need advice! Cos with everything that is happening I believe this year is my year.

Actually, there's misunderstanding around showing school and hiding school from approved visa transcript. Some of you who have been on this thread since 2019 would remember a time we discussed about Red Flag schools. I was one of those who said there's nothing as such as you can get your visa with any accredited school in the United States, provided you are issued an I-20. Indeed, Nigerians forget very fast, but I remember how often I encourage people to share information, to ask questions, to support each other. We forget very fast, really!

On not showing your school, it was opinion, not a rule or law biding anyone to follow it. The same people who suddenly turned against Fairheart were here seeing him responding to questions from strangers. People call things they don't understand many things, and that is okay.

Remember I have been contributing to this thread for years, and I did not, at any point in the past, asked anyone to hide their school. I HAVE NEVER! I only advised such when the issue of Western Illinois came up and far more people are refused than approved. I get a lot of messages from silent readers, asking what did I think went wrong that led to their f-1 refusal. I was merely concerned about the number of people that will still be refused due to large number of people with the school I-20s. Then I asked, what happened to other schools? Schools you'd have applied to, get admission, with strong academic profile, scholarship and even assistantship? Why ignore those simply because someone here posted that they get their visa with a particular school?

If those antagonizing me truly cares, you'd see it is indirect encouragement to spread out and apply to more schools for better opportunity instead of focusing on a school that someone got his/her visa with. But even if they apply there, it doesn't affect me. If everyone on Nairaland wish to apply to a single school, it doesn't affect me. I was only advising potential students to avoid unnecessary refusals due to the fact that they didn't do what they should have done. I have posted schools here in the past; I have shared links, etc.

My advise, actually, is like saying: Hey, if you want to harvest, please cultivate and plant your seed. That is it and nothing more. If I knew people would only see it in a negative light, I'd not even care. After all, i no give anybody money for visa and sevis fee.

Nobody is stifling information from those who need it. If you all want to go New Haven, or Lincoln or WUI, and co, while other good schools that would fund you are ignore, please go there.

I understand that human being will never do fair judgement to those who deserve it. I am not against sharing information o.
Please let peace reign here so that those who need real-time information can access and use it.
Peace!

Thanks for this. Truce guys, lets all face the task of helping each other, enough of the banters, in life opinions must always differ. Case closed
