porka: Beliefs!
Everyone is entitled to his/her belief.
People who don't believe in creation claim they believe in the big bang theory.
So who recorded the bang?
And how can a tiny particle bust and become so big as the earth and all the galaxies? The funny aspect is that they call all these 'theories'. These scientists are not yet sure of what they have propounded. Ask them how the earth itself came into existence and you will get other laughable stories describing it. |

4X4:
SINCE ADAM AND EVE STARTED THE WORLD THEN WHY ARE THERE HUNDREDS OF RACES ? WHERE DID CAIN FIND HIS WIFE SINCE IT WAS ONLY CAIN AND ABEL THEY HAD ? WHY IS IT THAT EACH FAAMILY'S DNA IS DIFFERENT FROM ANOTHER FAMILY ? Gen.5:4 After he(Adam) begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundres years, and he had SONS and DAUGHTERS. Have you read of the 'Tower of Babel' where God scattered the people to all parts of the earth, giving them different languages? Gen.11:7 Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. 8. So, the Lord scattered them abroad from over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. 9. Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over all the face of all the earth. |

Samdurance: Guy there are many questions to be asked. If we say God knows everything then why did he then create wat will be a distraction for Adam and Eve wen he don't want them to touch them. Adam and Eve gave birth to Cain and Abel and Cain killed Abel, then which city of Nin did Cain see his wife and who gave birth to the girl? Let's just be morally good and allow religion to flow on its own. Religion is slavery using a name God to cause confusion. Islam preaches Peace, Christianity preaches Peace too but the fanatics of both religions do otherwise cos they feel we are different. Why? Eve did not cause distraction to Adam. It was only when devil deceived Eve that such distractions came in. There are many distractions from both males and femlaes on earth today. Gen.5:4 After he (Adam) begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years, and he had SONS and DAUGHTERS. |

uzolexis: That bible sef who wrote it? I'm a christian who has stopped reading d bible cos that book is very contradictory n full of errors. My dear, I do not know what to say to you. There were secretaries in the time of old that recorded these scriptures you read in the bible. The Holy Spirit helped the early scholars to compile all these scriptures into one book called 'the bible'. If the Holy Spirit does not help any christian, he cannot understand ANY part of the scriptures. Rather, they will seem foolish to him b/c they are only SPIRITUALLY discerned. If God does not help a man to understand the bible, it will surely look foolish to such a person. God made it to be so in that no one will follow God through human wisdom, theories or science. Christians walk by FAITH with God and not by SIGHT (science or theories). |

kelvin100: Bible creation theory is crap!
Every human evolved from previous animals on earth as stated by Darwin.
One thing you bible believers don't know is that human or homo sapiens are not the only human species that ever lived.
Humans have up to 4 different species! Homo sapiens sapiens are the only surviving species left.
One of the most popular human species that died off was Neanderthals that dominated Europe while the current Homo sapiens sapiens dominated Africa.
There's one in Asia too. Yes, we believers in God talk crap. I wonder how humans will have different species in some places. Which was/were the first organism/s that started evolving into another and how did it/they come into existence? Mind you, God created everything in the world in six days, even that organism that started evolving into another as science claims. God is Omnipotent! |

PAGAN9JA: 1. theory of men. 2.its a myth. Olodumare came before adam. prove me wrong. 3.Evolution is a gradual process. takes place over a span of 1000s of years . imho the evolution of different races and racial features is itself a sign of evolution among humans. 4.biblocal busllshyt .stories. never happened. Yes the bible might contain bullshit stories but I believe them. Science cannot give accurate account of how humans begin existing in the world. They lay claims to natural selection and evolution to substantiate its theories. But the bibilical truth is very simple and precise, no assumptions, no change, no natural selection or evolution in the creation of man by God. It has remained unedited, and unchanged since the beginning of the world and will always remain so, no matter the scientific discoveries. |

God created Adam as the first man and Eve as the first woman. From both of them, all humans come into existence. Science cannot explain the number of people that evolved from these primates but gives speculations and assumptions. |

HopeAlive14: Your write-up is quite insightful, thanks for truths revealed.
I have often wondered if there is any Pentecostal Church in Nigeria that is not of one man leadership! Thanks for the compliments. Yes, there are few (minimum) churches who still hold on to this new testament bibilical system of leadership. It is somehow not so easy for one to oversee his family (maybe of 6 people). How much more overseeing about 1000 people? This is why there is need for more than one person to be at the helm of affairs as 'pastors' and not just one man 'Senior pastor or GO or GS' in any particular church. No pastor is greater than the other in any church for this is the way it has to be. |

italo: From what you're saying, St. Paul was saved - (repented, believed, was filled with the Holy Spirit) yet his sins were not washed away...
...Until he was baptized.
Acts22:16 "Get up, be baptized, and have your sins washed away, calling on his name." Final advice to you as a friend: Ask God to give you the spirit of knowledge and understanding to see beyond the words used in the Scriptures This helps you to compare scripture with scripture to get balanced understanding of a matter. The way you interprete the scripture here shows your level of understanding. You are in dire need of the Holy Spirit and not human reasoning. I am still a student under the Holy Spirit, but with a more open heart than yours to understand and learn from others. Have a nice day! |

Ubenedictus: oh, Calvin is the guy who originated the doctrine of once saved always saved he also originated the doctrine of born again before baptism. He was the creator of reformed theology and the father of the reformed churches. He was the first person to teach what you are teaching today, you can read up on him. The doctrin you teach is a relative new doctrine in Christendom merely 400yrs old. Calvin is the fount of the doctrine you have been trying to explain.
Baptism is not a replica of what had already happened, instead in baptism were were joined to Christ and became sharers of his death, it isn't some mere symbol, if it were Paul wouldn't have taught that when we were baptised we were baptised into Christs death. It isn't some symbol of a past event, it isn't a remembrance, it is a present reality whereby God unites us to the death of Christ and grants us new life. I have told you that I do not wish to know who Calvin was? I believe the word of God and not him. I accept aanything he had said that goes in line with the word of God. Newness of life comes at the point of being born again not during baptism. 2 Corinth. 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold all things have become new. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Are We Saved By Faith Or By Water Baptism? by Barnabaseloka(m): 5:41pm On Jun 24, 2015 |
Ubenedictus: read it again
he say we were baptised into Christ an thus baptised into his death and resurrection and into a new life.
There is nothing like "symbol" there unless you have manufactured you own bible.
All my own are discussing realities like been partakers in Christ death and resurrection in baptism. It didn't say "you died in Christ before you were baptised" or "baptism is a symbol of your dying in Christ" this is what it says
You cannot have forgotten that all of us WHEN WE WERE BAPTISED INTO Christ were baptised into his death" I agree with Paul, when I was baptised into Christ I was baptised into his death. I died with him when I was baptised in him, not before.
I chose what scripture says above Calvin. I do not doubt the truth that one has died and risen with Christ during baptism. But what saves one is the believing on the name Jesus. |

Ubenedictus: sorry you are again reading into that passage insead of read out of it.
Annanias said he came to for the restoration of Paul sight and so he may be filled with the spirit, no where does that passage say he was filled with the holyspirit before he was baptised.
Instead the teaching the bible gives is "believe and be baptised...so you may receive the holyspirit the promised of God". What of those who believed, received the Holy Spirit and were baptized? From the words of Ananias, it is clearly seen that Paul, received his sight, was filled with the Holy Spirit and became baptized. Cornelius and his household believed and received the Holy Spirit, before baptism. |
