The closest to him right now is Adams Oshiomole, that guy is doing it in Edo State, you need to see countless Edolites  ready to die for him whenever he shows up in public. I pray the Court of Appeal's decision favours him, cos i look forward to him running for PRESIDENT, then he might just be our charismatic OBAMA.

Family / Is It Right To Be A Second Wife? by Baro(m): 9:41pm On Oct 28, 2008
I had this impression that second wives are always evil, jealous and troublesome, but presently i have a  neighbour who is a third wife, from what i observed from our few contacts as neighbours , i think she is humble and respectful. I can hardly see any "second wife" trait in her. So i was actually wondering if its morally right or wrong for a woman to be a second wife or third wife as the case may be, considering the fact that some so called second wives could actually be good and morally upright persons whose marital status was occasioned by circumstances. What do you think

Nigeria: Giwa Amu, Obasanjo's Former ADC Was Murdered - Broth
This Day (Lagos)

Lagos

The controversy surrounding the death of the Nigerian Army's former director of Public Relations, Brigadier General Solomon Giwa Amu, continued yesterday with his immediate younger brother, Chief Gabriel Giwa Amu alleging that he was actually killed by "the powers that be in the military."
The former Army PRO, who was also once aide de camp (ADC) to former President Olusegun Obasanjo died in an auto crash on February 18 this year while on his way to the Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna State to deliver a lecture.
He was in the company of others in the car, but all other occupants survived the crash. The bus in which they were traveling ran into a bad portion of the Abuja-Kaduna road, killing the former Army PRO.
Though, his immediate younger brother said the death of the former ADC to Obasanjo, might not have actually been ordered by army authorities, he added that prior to his death he received a total of seven calls from people who claimed to be soldiers serving in Lagos advising him to warn his brother in the manner he defended the army high command on issues of unpaid allowances.
In an interview with THISDAY, Chief Amu, who is a lawyer said there was no way his brother, with his size, height and military training could have been flung out of the car that was involved in the auto crash.
According to him, the window of the vehicle which his brother was alleged to have been thrown out of was too small to contain a man of his size.
Chief Amu said: "I had the sad opportunity to look at the vehicle he was alleged to have died in. I am not saying this because there is anything to gain but I must say this for the sake of the army itself.
"One, there is nobody who can say seriously that anybody can die in those kind of circumstances because the car was substantially intact. This is the same car that was alleged to have somersaulted. The same car they said he was flung out through the window.
"The windows of the vehicle were too small to accommodate him. The windows were like that of small Hummer windows.
"So, when you look at the scenario, you wound be compelled to wonder how a man of that height, size and with military training, could have been flung out of the window like that.
"Meanwhile, the driver just sustained minor injuries. Now, I am not saying these things for him to be resurrected. He has died and has been buried. But I just want the military authorities to know that the action may not have been from the lawful authorities, but I am convinced he was killed.
Gabriel Giwa Amu emphasized that he was speaking for himself and not on behalf of the Giwa Amu family. "I speak as a brother of the deceased person.
"The issue of his death was a job badly done. They have to wake up to more skillful techniques. They can deceive other people but they cannot deceive me. We have paid the price for living as Nigerians.
"My brother was the former director, Nigerian Army Public Relations. I particularly remember that when he appeared on Channels TV during the Nigerian Army day celebrations; immediately after that interview, I got about seven telephone calls from persons who alleged, or claimed to be soldiers.
"They asked me to warn him and they gave me till Friday to do that, but the calls kept on coming and one of them went further to say that he (my late brother) was not the only one in the army and wondered why he had enjoyed so many lucrative postings.
"Then secondly, they said the position of the director of the Nigerian Army Public Relations was not his turn, and that other officers had lined up for that position."
Gabriel Giwa-Amu further said the callers also challenged the decision by the late Solomon Giwa-Amu to defend the increase in salaries of the police force at the expense of the army.
Chief Amu explained that all the threats against his late brother came after an interview he granted Channels Television.
He said he warned the late Amu about the threats but he did not listen.
On why he had waited this long to go public with his suspicions, Chief Amu said he was trying to put the bits and pieces of the information together and that he was also waiting to see what the authorities would do.
When contacted yesterday, the current director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Emeka Onwuamaegbu said the army would not want to be drawn into the controversy.
"It was a sad event. General Amu was a fine officer and was respected and I will rather his soul be allowed to rest in peace. I'm aware that he died in an auto accident, but I do not have details of the accident. He died in active service.
"Nobody has raised such allegations before. It is rather unfortunate that any family member would make such allegations. I will say that who ever is making those allegations is making false claims, because I know that Amu's family will never put up such claims. "

Music/Radio / Re: Where Is Lagbaja? by Baro(m): 11:58am On Oct 20, 2008
Dont think relocating from Nigeria is a good move for any Nigerian artiste, not to talk of a superstar of the Masked one's calibre. Yes, Lagbaja has conquered Nigeria, he has conquered Africa, but that isnt enough reason to leave Motherland(pun intended), afterrall Fela ruled the world from his Lagos shrine. Anyway, it's not too late for him to learn from what happened to the likes of Majek Fashek, Ras Kimono, Felix Lebarty, Mike Okri, etc.

Music/Radio / Where Is Lagbaja? by Baro(m): 1:27pm On Oct 19, 2008
FOR months now, Lagbaja has not performed in Motherlan Allen, venue of his once popular monthly gig, fuelling rumours that the masked one has left Nigeria for good.
Recent story on the jazzist, however, is so disturbing that RMT visited Motherlan’ on Monday and found the place under lock. It has even been taken over by weeds.
What prompted the visit was the recent information RMT got from another US-based Nigerian musician that all is not that well with Lagbaja as he’s been stranded in New York and had just been employed as a cab driver.
RMT source, also a musician, informed that the Afro beat musician had been struggling to live life the American way, so one of his friends in New York "called and begged" him to help out somehow as the musician was in dire strait.
“My friend told me the musician has been living on family friends and others, but was tired of such a life and wanted to do something fast. “The fastest I could do was to set him a job as a cabbi. I don’t know what next for him though”, the instrumentalist said.
Lagbaja, a big star in Nigeria, suddenly disappeared from the music scene about 5 months ago.
Some of his Nigerian fans were shocked that he could leave the country just like that as "he was making loads of money”, said one, while one of his dancers said “its been long since he invited me to his regular gigs, neither do I get him on his phone again”.
A visit to the artisit’s base at least confirmed that the place had not been used for a long time. Overgrown with weeds and both gates locked, a mechanic admitted that “it’s been long since I saw him”.
Unconfirmed reports have it that the musician’s wife is yet to get a job in US after leaving her lucrative one for US ahead of her husband. Infact, the source was shocked the wife was yet to get a job, “despite her credentials”.
“A lot is expected of the masked one as the bread winner, I guess that’s why he didn’t turn down his cabbie job,” he said. He, however, warned Nigerians that “US is not as rosy as being painted in the magazines and movies. Here, you live for the bills.
Another source very close to Lagbaja, however, informed RMT that it was not true that he had turned a cab driver, but that he was out of sight because he was putting "final touches to his next album".
Lagbaja hit limelight with his jazz version of K1’s “Baby Show Color” in the 90s and went on to release series of hits such as “Nothing For You”, “The Way” and several others.
His once-a-month gig at Motherlan’ drew diplomats and young fans in droves and charged fees ranging from N3.5m to N5m as appearance fees before he left Nigeria. It was once reported that his CD was the highest selling among Africans in California.
Lagbaja is not the only Nigerian that had sought greener pasteurs in God’s Own Country as the list includes recently returned Felix Lebarty who admitted it wasn’t that easy in US. He is now a preacher.
Same for Mike Okri who initially performed in pubs in US, but suddenly quit the scene as he was not drawing the crowd as expected. He was said to have worked in a used-car shop until he finally went underground.
Alex Zitto too reportedly flipped burgers in US until no reports of him were heard again

pheesayor:

But modenine said it on rythm 93.7 when the song was played that he was going to remix it so it's not a hidden stuff. I don't know why modenine is being hated.

For an artiste of Modenine's calibre he should have made the remix official, i.e getting Faze's nod
Music/Radio / Re: Question Of Modenine's Originality by Baro(m): 5:43pm On Oct 08, 2008
Modenine sounded ok on that track, but i didnt like the song cos Faze's voice was not properly placed on the beat, so it kinda sounded off key. Anyway what i am certain of is that, the said Originality track where Modenine was allegedly featured isnt in Faze's Album, the track has a remix but nobody was featured.

Modenine personally uploaded that song on youtube, so i still cant get

Romance / Re: A Girl Of 16 Just Gave Birt To A Bounsing Baby Boy,belongin To Her Dad. by Baro(m): 12:32pm On Oct 08, 2008
It's true.
The incestuous relationship between a father and his daughter in Ibadan has resulted in the birth of a baby boy named Samuel, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
Samuel, now one-month old, is in the custody of the Oyo State Youth Development Council, while his 36-year-old father/cum grandfather, Olaolu Adeleke, is being held at the Agodi Prisons, after being arraigned on a three-count charge.
Mr. Kehinde Akinyemi, the Principal Social Welfare Officer at the Council, told NAN on Tuesday in Ibadan, that Samuel was in good health, but needed blood transfusion.
“We are consulting with the management on the issue,” Akinyemi said. NAN gathered that Adeleke turned his 16-year-old daughter (name withheld) into his sex partner after divorcing the mother a few years ago.
Adeleke had been arraigned before Chief Magistrate A. Bolaji on charges of unlawful carnal knowledge, threat to life and intimidation and attempt to kill.
Police Prosecutor, Benjamin Akindoyin, told the court that the accused committed the offences, punishable under Sections 284 (3), 358 and 509 of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol. 11 Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria.
The prosecutor said that the accused committed the act between December 2007 and March 2008.
When the case came up for hearing on Tuesday, it was adjourned till October 20 because the Chief Magistrate was on her annual vacation.
