Nigerians driving through Ekiadolor in Edo State have called for help against the vicious armed robbery going on there by Operatives of the Federal Operations Unit,Zone C, who extort money daily from Nigerians,in ironically a fraudulent manner .

An Investigation of the National Movement for the Actualisation of Good Governance hereafter called "NAMAGG", shows the following :

NAMAGG has been inundated with complaints of the nefarious activities of Operatives of the Nigeria Custom Service , Federal Operations Unit ,FOU, Zone C,Owerri in Ekiadolor,near Benin City ,Along the Lagos -Ore-Benin Express Way , who has turned Edo State Citizens and other Commuters going to the South East and the South South and driving through Ekiadolor in Edo State into cash cows , extorting millions of naira daily from commuters with the excuse that they have under paid custom duties ,they do not have correct Customs Paper or they have not paid at all ,where as Custom duties are payable for goods and cars at the air ,land and sea entry border or facility.This is an unacceptable criminal enterprise, which smacks of day light robbery and should never be allowed to stand .

It is only in Nigeria and particularly in Ekiadolor that armed robbers masquerading as custom officers rob people every day after keeping them waiting some times for 24 hours ,robbing from Citizens with guns , bought by the same Citizens' taxes .

The Operatives even boast openly that they are the most wicked in Nigeria and to show that their loots are huge ,they are alleged to have occupied one full hotel for a long time , close to their scene of crime in Ekiadolor, which they call check point ,where they lavish the money stolen from the Nigerians Commuters on the High Way with guns bought by the same Nigerian tax payers for them , who most times have their correct Custom Papers or have brought in the goods as personal effects.

They killed a young man over a year ago because of an argument which ensued over a bag of rice and buried the matter under the carpet. The high costs of imported goods in the South South and the South East of Nigeria is traceable to their activities as they extort every body no matter how poor and how high .Some times , they impound your cars and goods and resell it to themselves using cronies and agents in sham auction sales that is like a well rehearsed re-enactment of a criminal conspiracy ,practised at night as they even have civilian collaborators, some of which are locals .

These heartless and wicked criminals have turned Ekiadolor ,along the Lagos -Ore-Benin Express Way in Edo State into a den of thieves ,some times even accosting Government Officials with Police Escort and telling them off .
They are very rude ,uncouth, abusive and operate in a Commando Style ,with so much disdain for Citizens and Commuters and with intense impunity .

Democracy assures for free movement of citizens and goods .The Custom Service has no jurisdiction over any car or goods inside the Country cleared by the same Service from the Ports or borders with the ascertained duties paid and Custom Papers provided .We call on all the Authorities indicated above to scrap the Robbery Den called Nigeria Custom,,FOU,Zone C Check Point indicated above,which is being used to fleece our Citizens .

They should go to the Borders where arms are brought in and used to fuel Nigerian current insurgency and not harass innocent Nigerians in the cities ,who work very hard to make a living in the harsh economic climate of this Country.

Scrap the Nigeria Custom Check point at Ekiadolor in Edo State now and prosecute the culprits mentioned above for their crime and criminality.
