Or which do you use/recommend? Call their customer service to authenticate the activation status of your card Also, the issue could be the particular merchant / terminal that you are trying to transact from. Try another merchant or site. Mine have been working perfectly from day one. |

Just open a Domicilary Account is better than all these virtual dollar cards...
I'll get better rate from Aboki and they have MasterCard or visa cards.
I have a GT MasterCard for my Dom acct and I usually buy USD at #740 - #745 from Aboki.
They only charge you $10 annually from your naira acct at official rate. Far better than all these useless virtual cards. |

Alliswell248: Nnpcl is now a private company same way as Dangote. No more free giveaway. Nnpcl wants to make profit, whether the product was sources locally or abroad. That is what he is saying. Buhari sold Nnpcl to himself and closest cohorts and the same cabals also acquired / funded around 70% of Dangote refinery. Therefore, he still milks and runs Nigeria significantly. Tinubu has met noting on ground and he want to create his own flows too. I pity this nation. God have mercy. |

juvewalex: He didn't explain why local production won't reduce fuel price , if you're producing in Nigeria, will there still be a landing cost ?
Nigeria government is never straight forward in dealing with its citizens.
Na still corruption be this anyways. In other words, it is the citizens that will now be subsidizing for government expenditures. That is why they can never come up with any meaningful analysis or explanation. |

Agadinaagwuofe: Well...it seems nobody wants to give you heads up so let me oblige you. Devaluing naira simply means CBN officially raise the naira value against dollar in exchange rate. To put it in perspective, it means the official exchange rate against dollar which initially is #460/$1they have made it #630/$1. It is not a good sign because the black market rate will sky rocket and that's where most buyers get their exchange. This will increase cost of importation which will also increase prices of all the goods you will buy since Nigeria's economy solely depend on importation. This is layman explanation. I don't thin your logic will apply in this context sir. The black market as.at yesterday in Lagos sold at 750 naira averagely even after the news. The aim of Tinubu's economic team is to bring to a parallel the official and black market rates. Buhari was not business oriented and almost killed all business concerns within the country. The major business of his Aboki cohorts was BDC so he created that huge, unimaginable margin of about N400. They were cashing out heavily at the expense of Nigerians. |

Politics › Re: No Protest Against Fuel Subsidy Removal For Now – Labour by Basicend: 8:30pm On Jun 01, 2023 |
BreconHills: You guys don't get it. NNPC cash flow cannot support subsidy payments.
If a family cannot afford three square meals they go to 001 or 010 or something like that. They don't go and keep borrowing to eat three square meals because it will dig them into a deeper hole.
If you force NNPC to cough out money from its reserves for instance, then it will can only buy less fuel than it used to = scarcity. What does scarcity mean? Black market prices.
So Government will be spending money on subsidy and yet prices are still black market prices because it can't meet demand.
We've been here before na. Private companies should shave their margins and provide verifiable palliatives which the government can offset with tax rebates. Those who work in government can be given palliative. Private sector especially organised private sector should sort themselves out Bro, you don't get it. The issue is not about removing the subsidy. ..but which direction are we heading? Even the quoted price they are forcing th masses to pay now is a hike and the govt knows that. . So there is no transparency in processing and systems. We can't get anywhere with that. Even some monies are being saved now as claimed, they will still misappropriate about 90% of it into their personal pockets leaving the masses into more sufferings. |
Politics › Re: No Protest Against Fuel Subsidy Removal For Now – Labour by Basicend: 8:02pm On Jun 01, 2023*. Modified: 8:48pm On Jun 01, 2023 |
I like the word "for now".
The price quoted by NNPC is of course a hike if Bonny Crude is at 80 USD / barrel and their transaction rate is @N463 or there about. A litre's end price should be at #390 max, that is, after importation.
Now, if Dangote refinery has not shared it's products to the market, we will keep watching ,. Coz I can't imagine hungry Nigerians now ignorantly paying subsidies for lavish expenditures of our executives.
If price doesn't go down gradually after Dongote starts producing, then we have a more serious issue and we will tackle it aggressively. |
