I'll mention riba

Riba in Arabic is interest on loans. The prophet needed money to run his raiding caravans. He borrowed money from some people including Jewish traders.
He didn't want to pay back with interest, ( I doubt he even repaid his loans). Allah to the rescue. He got one or more revelations that interest on loans was exploitative. After which interest on loans in Islam was banned till today.
(If you look carefully at Islam, you see Allah conveniently coming to the rescue of his prophet many times).

There are PhD programs in Islamic bankng with specific emphasis on interest free loans. Banks have Sharia compliant loans in their products to Muslims.

I am told that you need a lot of money to invent or innovate almost everything. Ban on riba is a huge stumbling block.

History and development are the result of a massive interaction and fluid flow of ideas, innovations and developments which build one piece upon the other and from one society to another in one season after another through travel, trade, wars etc.

You are getting it wrong. Every society had to innovate in order to survive.
Islam itself is regressive, it discourages anything not in their books. Boko Haram literally means western education is forbidden. Haram in Arabic also means corrupted or illegal. What reasons does Boko Haram give that western education is corrupt.
Any significant innovation came from need not advancements from Islamic education. A society where a male doctor cannot treat a woman who's not his wife,what do you expect? A system that still claims babies come from am 'congealed clots' ,how you expect it to progress in medicine .

The JC ethos see's all men as created in the image of God. Fostering equality and individual liberties. This drives the pursuit of learning and research, leading to advancement and progress. It demonstrates Gods order and rationality in creation, engendering the pursuit rational inquiry and scientific discovery. Only the culture that arises out of this this ethos has proven capable of doing that. Nothng from the MAW or SSA.
