Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by basilico: 10:49am On Apr 09 |
DeepSight: + We hail Wilberforce, a better man than you will ever be. Suggest whether the blacks who owned slaves should pay reparations too. Approximately 3,775–3,776 free Black slaveholders owned 12,760–12,907 slaves By 1860, the number appears to have declined somewhat (scholars note a marked decrease from 1830 levels), though some sources estimate around 10,000 Black slave owners holding roughly 60,000 slaves (still a very small share of the 4 million total enslaved people). Free Blacks made up only about 11% of the Black population in 1860 (476,000–488,000 free Blacks nationwide, with most in the Upper South or cities like
Kamala Harris ancestors owned slaves. Be aware , that this reparations matter is a hot potato . Those pushing it don't have the same agenda as you , if righting the past wrongs is what you are after. I don't want to go further and quantify how much of America wealth was attributable to the slave output and to innovation. I suggest you do your own research. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by basilico: 10:39am On Apr 09 |
LordReed: The America wealth was built on the back of slavery so they bear a larger brunt of the cost. By all means go after all the others but those who benefited hugely economically are not unjustly being asked to pay.
If you work for a company and your pay was withheld should your heirs receive your benefits after your death? Of course! So stop beating around the bush and say the white Americans should pay the blacks reparations. Make it simple. Are you aware that there were blacks who owned slaves. Approximately 3,775–3,776 free Black slaveholders owned 12,760–12,907 slaves, around 0.5% of the slaves then.

DeepSight: + If I still had hope that you were objective as you claimed, I would respond. But its a waste of time. A few weeks ago we dealt with those who hold the highest responsibility if slavery. The African chiefs who sold their people, the raiders who captured and transported the slaves , the largest slave traffickers in history . The reparation issue is a good question ,did you argue that the documented cases should be the only ones to pay. Which smacks of pinnibg the trade on a particular race. Now to that add William Wilberforce, the British guy who moved boulders and rocks to have slavery trade banned and abolished |

DeepSight: + Clearly the blood of the masters is thickest since they got compensated and you defend that compensation. It's a sensible and moral question If the reparations are to be made , how about the emancipator's of the slaves. What do they deserve ? Should the democrat as a party be more held more liable for slavery, and for fighting to keep their slaves. |

Bemeruca. Tucker should be in the know about what's happening 1.Iran is firing $20000 drones at ships which requires an interceptor worth anything from $500K to $3 million . 2.Iran has hundreds of fast boats that can drop mines ,only a few thousand dollars to blow up ships. These mines can be activated by them sensing ship above them or from a direct collision, months or decades after being laid. 3. When Iran attacked several ships ,insurers increased thie rates by upto 300%. Shippers won't transit if they are at risk of being sank or attacked plus those high insurance rates. Some insurances flat out stopped insuring oil tankers transiting the Straits of Hormuz. Tucker is clearly a disingenuous stooge. bemeruca: He is right, Tucker, megyn and all these grifters bayelsaowei and budaatum are posting here are clickwhores. They go with anything that is popular.

Very soon they'll be telling us there's no civilian killing in Lebanon. I requested you tell us how many Hamas fighters have been killed. Without that information, it becomes difficult to accept your 60,000 figure. Let us have the figures so we can debate intelligently based on facts not innuendos. Please give us the figures, If you can't get them then the figures could be suspect . If by chance you get them, we can look at the ratio of fighters vs civilians killed. Is it 10:1 or 1:100 ? We can also try and come up with a good number of the fighters: civilians ratio . What's an acceptable ratio to you, based on the fact this is urban warfare. |

What do liberals really want. DeCarlos Brown Jr., the man accused of brutally murdering 23-year-old Ukrainian immigrant Iryna Zarutska on her way home from work on a Charlotte light rail last year, has been deemed “incapable to proceed” on state murder charges.
Brown with a history of schrschizophreniai had been taken into custody east 14 times across North Carolina on charges from illegal firearm possession to felony robbery and assault. At the time of Iryna’s killing, he had been released on cashless bail after a magistrate allowed him to walk free on a written commitment to return to court, stemming from a false 911 report. It gets worse. A mural of the victim was taken. down from some lbgtq premises and relocated in an effort led by the democrat mayor egged on by leftists. They claimed it portrayed democrat run cities in bad light, to make it worse Elon Musk had funded it. In another case Matthew Perry, died of a ketamine overdose . The lady who sold him the fatal dose ,Jasveen Sangha ("Ketamine Queen" got 15 years in prison. How about judges who let Brown roam the streets? Or politicians in democrat enclaves and sanctuary cities who demand the police to be defunded ? Liberals are just evil. |

DeepSight: + Shame. I only listed some initiatives that help black empowerment. A good example. Stacey Abrams. Green Energy Initiative April 2023: Abrams began working with Rewiring America as a senior counsel to advocate for the transition to electric energy in underserved communities. 2023–2024: She led the "Vitalizing DeSoto" pilot project in a small Georgia town. This initiative replaced energy-inefficient appliances with electric upgrades for 75% of the community (approx. 116 homes) to demonstrate lower utility costs.
April 2024: Based on the success of the DeSoto project, the Power Forward Communities coalition—which includes Rewiring America—was awarded a $2 billion grant from the EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.
Early 2025: The grant became a subject of political controversy. Critics, including President Donald Trump and EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, alleged wasteful spending and questioned Abrams' role.So the EPA gave her $2B billion to buy home appliances for deserving communities. Most likely those deserving communities had appliances more expensive than what majority of Nigerians can' afford. No need to say which race was considered. Call a spade for what it is , A spade. That project was a direct reparation . |

Last month, a state appellate court rejected California Democrat Attorney General Rob Bonta’s emergency writ to halt Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco’s bombshell investigation into 45,000 extra votes mysteriously counted in the November 2025 special election.
The California AG had moved to court challenging the move by the sheriff to seize the ballots. The sheriff office had said they will take about 5 days recounting the votes.
Now this. The California Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered a county sheriff who seized more than half a million 2025 election ballots to pause his probe into election fraud allegations while the judges review the legal challenge against it.
Tells you about democrats. If the elections were free and fair ,the AG should have sued to join the team recounting the votes.Instead he fails to block at a lower court, then the California Supreme Court steps in to pause the recount. |

TV01: It's almost painful to read the ignorance you spew - and considering your profession, your inability (or is it just unwillingness?) to question any of the "marketing material" you parrot here is quite concerning. Have you been the victim of repeated scams in real life .
The lacuna in reasoning is yours. The printing press is an artefact which is clearly attributable to a particular religious & sociocultural milieu. If, as you insist, religion or faith had nothing to do with it, then it must be sociocultural by default. So, what artefacts can you point to from the AM world or SSA?
When asked how this "moral evolution" happens, you could only - and it still sounds so lame, even now - mutter, "wars & rebellion"
Both yourself and Lord Reed fail to grasp culture - what it is and how it is shaped. Culture is downstream of religion and scientific advancement, technological innovation and the like. Computers came - revolutionised the workplace. Further advances changed how we communicate, how we access information. Likewise, religious tenets deeply held and lived, shape conduct, behaviours relationships.
Why do the historical JC nations practice monogamy, whereas, monogamy is still extant in AM world or SSA. Why hasn't the "moral evolution" that would remove this, at best, lesser form of marriage\dysfunctional relationship?
Hopefully, you can grasp why you err here form my statement above? No ? Okay, let's move from science\tech\innovation for a mo'. Apart form the marriage example above, why does the AM and SSH still practice slavery, child marriage, subsistence pastoralism and a host of other practices that are not only of little social value, but actually deleterious in many instances?
This so called golden age is a myth. A contrived narrative, and doesn't bear scrutiny - even by an unlearned enemy . I'll give a broad overview.
The claim is that this golden age was from the 8th through the 14th century, yes? Islam started in the 7th century. So the claim is essentially within a 100 years, ee.slam, became a powehouse of scientific discovery and technological advancement - leading the world. And you believe that?
What was the mechanism by which ee.slam did this? Did the gee.hard.ests, armies pack science books which they distributed to conquered peoples ? That would explain why after each mose.slim tear.roar.wrist attack, science compendiums are found scattered at the scene .
Or perhaps once they overran all the native populations from the Copts to the Berbers to the Persians and others, they gave them strict instructions to ensure science and technology where advanced at all speed before they returned - or else!. Have you no mind of your own?
Cities like Baghdad, Cordoba and Cairo, were civilisational laggards, technologically backwards, until the advent of ee.slam. Ee.slam made all these breakthroughs and innovations, handed them off to the unbelieving West and then regressed back to the 7th century. Leaving no single scientific, technological or sociocultural artefacts that we can point to that advanced mankind? No evidence of the ME of which you speak.
I extract -
--------------
The Islamic Golden Age (roughly 8th to 14th century) was a powerhouse of intellectual activity. While Europe was in the Early Middle Ages, scholars in cities like Baghdad, Córdoba, and Cairo were synthesizing Greek, Indian, and Persian knowledge while making massive original breakthroughs. Here are the major subjects and innovations they contributed to the modern world:
1. Mathematics: The Language of Science: Perhaps the most visible legacy is in our numbers. Islamic mathematicians didn't just preserve math; they revolutionized how we calculate. Algebra: Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi wrote The Compendious Book on Calculation by Completion and Balancing. The word "Algebra" comes from his term al-jabr. He treated algebra as a distinct discipline for the first time.
Arabic Numerals & Zero: While the symbols originated in India, Islamic scholars refined the decimal system and the concept of zero (0), then introduced them to the West.
Algorithms: The word "algorithm" is actually a Latinized corruption of al-Khwarizmi’s name.
Trigonometry: Scholars like al-Battani isolated functions like sine, cosine, and tangent, which were essential for both astronomy and navigation.
2. Medicine: Systematic Healing - The Islamic world moved medicine from folklore to a rigorous, empirical science. The Canon of Medicine: Written by Ibn Sina (Avicenna), this remained the standard medical textbook in Europe and the Middle East for over 600 years. Hospitals (Bimaristans): They created the first modern hospitals with separate wards for different diseases, pharmacies, and even "internships" for medical students.
Surgery: Al-Zahrawi (Albucasis) is often called the "father of surgery." He invented over 200 surgical instruments—including the scalpel, bone saw, and forceps—many of which have designs that remain recognizable today.
Circulation: Ibn al-Nafis was the first to correctly describe pulmonary circulation (how blood moves through the heart and lungs).
3. Physics and Optics - Before this era, people believed the eyes emitted rays to "see" objects. Islamic scientists corrected this. Ibn al-Haytham (Alhazen): Often called the first true scientist, he pioneered the scientific method, emphasizing repeatable experiments.
The Camera Obscura: Al-Haytham explained how light travels in straight lines and enters the eye, using the "dark room" (camera obscura) principle to prove it. This is the fundamental ancestor of the modern camera.
4. Chemistry (Alchemy): The word "Chemistry" comes from al-kimiya. Islamic scholars transitioned alchemy from a mystical pursuit of turning lead into gold into a practical science. Jabir ibn Hayyan (Geber): He introduced systematic laboratory methods and identified many common acids (like sulfuric and nitric acid). Distillation: He perfected the process of distillation, which led to the creation of perfumes, medicines, and refined oils.
5. Engineering and Navigation - Practicality was at the heart of many innovations, especially regarding water and travel. Crankshafts and Water Pumps: Al-Jazari, a brilliant engineer, designed intricate clocks, hand-washing automata, and the crankshaft—one of the most important mechanical inventions in human history.
6. Higher Education Universities: The University of al-Qarawiyyin in Fez, Morocco (founded by Fatima al-Fihri in 859 AD), is recognized by UNESCO and Guinness World Records as the oldest continuously operating, degree-granting university in the world. -- - - - - - -
I can differentiate betwixt history and marketing !
TV In my opinion there was nothing like the Islamic golden age. Everything Islam touches ends up in retrogression |

Spot on. tctrills: Quite the contrary, He has brought peace to the middle east by weakening Iran and exposing Iran. Obama funded and enhanced Iran. If not for Obama's funds or Obamacare for Iran, the terrorists wouldn't have been able to build the military infrastructure to bomb their neighbours. Now, Trump has reduced all that.
2. You are right Obama is not in the Epstein file because he was not working with the police to stop Epstein like Trump. The files actually allege that Trump was a police informant on Epstein.
3. Like most humans, we cheat and lie. Trump is not perfect but overall he is a blessing to mankind. So far, he has resolve at least 7 international conflicts. Obama actually triggered the conflict in Libya that remains the root of insecurity in west Africa and Nigeria.
4. Inflation was going down before the war and it will continue to go down after the war. If you want the ultimate lesson on inflation, ask Biden who brought about the worst inflation in 40 years.
5. He has done more for the African Americans than Obama the so called first black president. He is more black than Obama. Well in Obama's defence, he was doing more for the LGBTQ community. Please, remind us, what was Obama's biggest achievement for the blacks. |

Smart talking and great public speaking do not always provide results. A crazy tweet or in Trump's case, Truth may have a far greater impact. A lot are disappointed, Trump is such a failure 1. He captured Maduro , no loss of life. They called it a violation of a sovereign nation, were silent when Reagan invaded Panama to capture Noriega. 2. He is severely degrading Iran military. The disappointed lot are not happy Iran has not killed thousands of civilians, nor are American body bags returning home to their satisfaction so far neither is the Dimona reactor damaged. 3. I hope to consolidate my threads on 2020 fraud here one fine day. Dominion Rigging Machines had a 68% rejection rate ,the accepted laid down error rate should be less than 1%
What happened then when a ballot was rejected. The ballot image scanned would be sent to an adjudication folder accessible by a clerk. The clerk would read the ballot and determine whose vote the ballot was intended for.The clerk would then mark the vote for counting in favour of any candidate. All scanned ballot images in that folder could be selected in one click and marked for any candidate without bothering to read them. Clerks simply run a batch of adjudicated votes marking them as Biden. The audit trail couldn't identify who ran the batch as all clerks were using the same user names. So much for secure elections where tens of thousands of scanned ballots would be in two clicks be changed to any candidate.
For very good measure the audit trail logs were all deleted to preserve election integrity.
