Tesla to freeze hiring, lay off employees next quarter: report

(Reuters) -Another wave of layoffs are coming at electric-car maker Tesla Inc in the next quarter, news website Electrek reported on Wednesday, citing a source familiar with the matter.

Tesla is also going to freeze hiring, according to the report. The company did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

Shares of Tesla rose 1% to $139.25 in trading before the bell.




The reported move comes at a time when Tesla investors have raised concerns over Chief Executive Elon Musk's distraction with managing Twitter, the social media platform he bought for $44 billion in October.

Moreover, Tesla analysts have also cut their price targets on the stock worried that weakness in demand from China will weigh on the EV maker's deliveries next year.

Musk in June said Tesla would reduce its salaried workforce by roughly 10% over the next three months.

1.) None of that bothers me. Twitter was started by liberals, as I said before they believe in speech and ideas and ways to have those ideas reach everyone. Those employees understood the vision of Twitter. And because it was successful, one can argue their vision was good and well executed. That being said Twitter even when it was Publicly traded was still a for profit company and the board had a fiduciary responsibility to it's shareholders and that means a responsibility to keep it's advertisers happy. If advertisers would not advertise on a site that allowed certain things like antisemitism and racism, they would filter it out. Even then, they had a deliberative process in place to deal with it. Trump, like all things he did, pushed the boundaries, stress tested the system and put the owners in an impossible situations. But, I think they did the best they could weighing all potential harms. And in the US Freedom of Speech isn't absolute in the realm of Government protected rights let alone Private Rights.

Twitter was a free speech platform.. Every view palatable view was allowed. Then the left took it over and started banning users at the behest of politicians and FBI. For instance if you tweeted that the covid vaccine is not a vaccine because it will not prevent infection Twitter would ban you.Twitter was not making profits, its pathetic that FBI refunded them $3.1m for the time taken to censor views the FBI did not like,. Twitter went all out censoring any view they did not like , factual or not.

2.) All this happened during the Trump Presidency. And you are talking about a very Conservative FBI, let by a Republican Trump appointed Director. I'm not sure the argument. The conservative FBI wanted to go after conservative Trump so that liberals could win? If the FBI is that mendacious, wouldn't they have gone after Liberals to put conservatives in power all those years during the Obama administration. At some point facts have to win out.

Trump was under siege from day one He could not appoint a director without Mitch ... a trade off Chris Wray the curent director was not his first choice for instance,. If Trump wanted a budget approved approved he had to nominate RINOs.. Thats how you ended up with Rosenstein and Wray .The RINOs never wanted Trump , but they needed his endorsement in elections after which they could easily backstab,

3.) Compare the Twitter of pre-Musk to it now. No matter how many employees donated to Dems (Not saying that 95% number is accurate), how many times did Twitter leadership come out and OPENLY support Democrats? Or trash Republican Leaders? Or tell Twitter members how to vote? You seem to be looking hard and reading tea leaves for evidence of partisanship under Dorsey while ignoring the overt Partisanship with Musk

4.) I assure you there are more ex FBI agents working in companies that favor Republicans than vice versa.
