Guys, who told you people that church members are poor? This is one of the funniest impressions that people have here. Maybe the members of some churches are poor sha, but me I have not entered that kind of church in years. I have met boys in the late twenties and early thirties in church that control several millions of naira easily. You want to know what they do? Legitimate business. There are a lot of churches now where majority of the members are not poor. You can get into a service of one of the popular churches to see and understand by yourself.

Secondly, people think that pastors must get their money from tithes and offerings. This is does not have to be true. By the nature of the job that pastors do, they have always have a wide social network. For what Ive seen with pastors I've been close to, what they get as personal gifts is what makes the bulk of what they have. I have seen a pastor who has been on the job for like 15 yrs with a church of less than 2000 members getting millions in cash and materials as gifts from people who feel appreciative of his impact in their lives. If I mention the name of his church, most of you will not know it. This guy does not touch church offering for any personal thing. He does not even earn a salary. In fact, many of these people were no longer even coming to his church mostly because they have relocated to other places. I can only wonder what a person who has a church of tens of thousands of members will be able to get.

Someone needs to tell me how the private jet thing is so prevalent. There are tens of thousands of pastors in Nigeria. Five or six of them have jets. If u ask me, that is even less than a minority. Besides, I think what you should be looking at is what is in the bank account of the pastors, not the jets. Some may have several billions in their accounts but have not yet bought jets. Are these ones 'innocent'?

Please for the sake of all that is good, do not accuse a person of crime until you have evidence to support it. It is not fair. If you can present the evidence, I will be on your side 100%. But if you can't PROVE it, then there is no point.
Please I need someone to answer these questions objectively, giving evidences if applicable, and not with subjective inferences (please don't say 'how else can...'?)

1. How do you know that it is the offerings that these pastors are using to buy jets?
2. How do you know that they are getting the money from the government or politicians?
3. How do you know that they are not carrying out enough charity works?
4. Does a person's possession of materials equivalent to him worshiping them?

If you can answer these questions objectively, then I am on your side.
