I do not sell anything; however, if I see anyone who is interested in buying quality and able to afford it, I assist even at better price than what is sold here, but the fellow must wait gor about 3 months cos it must be imported. If you cannot, kindly buy from one of these guys who have it here. And I dont do it for everyone but for people I guide. If you can afford a good mulch, take it. I always "dash out" my mulches after 5 years. I don't have now, but can last 10 years.
Thanks for the reply sir. Please I would really love to have you as my mentor in vegetable farming sir. Your contributions to Agri section really touched many lives. I happen to be one of them.. .you have made me to understand that farming is deeper than just the good ROI most people are after. One of the things you said about learning theoretical aspect of farming thoroughly. Has made me to understand that farmers will keep experimenting with their capital and guessing what could be their problem in any failed project but never get it really right untill they understand why things work and not just how things works. Sincerely, I love the way you break down things for the serious lay man to understand. More grace to you and God bless you

transplanting in progress, the rain is threatening to fall which will make tomorrows weather cool and conducive for the trans plants, but if not we can't disturb God for rain,we have our irrigation system in place, take special note of the distance of manure and crop very critical when using chicken Manure.
Well done sir.

Please I have a few questions to ask sir.

1.Please what's the distance between the manure and the crop.

2. What quarantine of manure should be applied per hole or what can be used to measure the applied manure per hole.

3. can this method be used when planting the seed directly? Or we have to mix the manure and the soil. Thank you sir for the sacrifice you are making to enlighten more Nigerians. God bless you.

Interesting thread. I wish I saw the part you mentioned how you combined those 2 chemicals before wasting over 100k on Lagon and one other nonsense chemical.
Sorryabout that bro!I guess there might have been a problem somewhere.lagon is a very good pre emergence herbicide. So I guess the problem might be from:

1. Your land preparation: Ensure the land is tilled and well ridged or heaped. This operation should follow an immediate planting and before emergence of weeds .

2. The combination of lagon with the other chemical may also be the issue. As the mixture may weaken the potency of lagon.

3. The spraying might be wrongly done as most of the guys that spray do not spray evenly . They just rush the spraying and some parts may not be touched at all. All they need is their money. That's why. It's very important for the farm manager or owner to be around when important operations like spraying is done so as to monitor them.

Note: lagon needs a reasonable amount of rainfall after spraying in other for it to get into the ground and do its work

Profit in vegetable farming will triple soon
Yes, you heard me right. Listen to me, everything (prices) will go up. The focus will be what most families use: tomato, peppers, and onions. We will know how far by June 7 when the north has threatened to cut off supply to the south. This year, my prediction is that the rainy season high priced rule may not really apply. Everything is going to be expensive. Profits for farmers will be hi
But...hhmmmmm!

Be careful
1. Workers will be more notorious. I do not think there are workers again. I just pity people who rely on workers oooo. Hmmm...

2. Set up will be more expensive. It will be extremely expensive. Drip is getting scarce everyday. Listen to me, buy your equipment ahead and keep. If you have the mind of farming, dont wait till when you want to start. Buy it 1 year or even 2 years ahead. Buy quality. Store them. If you can afford to by 50 rolls, go ahead and buy. Keep. Listen to me, you can even sell them off gradually. If you have the cash. You will even make more money. I have imported full container for personal use before, but I just didnt use one roll. Why? Drip was scarce that time, and come and see how people pleaded. That was many months ago (not even last year). Be wise.

3. If you can move in mulch, do it. Even you dont have land now. I am telling you. Land is the easiest thing to get. Store your equipment. If you love veggie, buy mulch. You will not get quality here. If you want what will last you 5 years minimum, contact me. It is expensive, but listen, you will pray for me when you start using it. And the way I use mine, I will teach you.

4. Seeds are getting expensive oooo. Seriously expensive. It is your choice what you want to use. Make research very well. You shouldn't limit yourself to the ones promoted here. I have said it times without number that I dont use them. And smart men and women who talk to me daily keep praying for me for posting it here. If you join the click and you find the means for yourself, you will know you are wasting money here. Until you try it. Remember, I talked about drip, but they said carrying hose is OK. They confused you, but I insisted. Now, they are using it, and I am happy for them. Ask them if they can carry hose now. Ask them if they were right. See, shamefully, they will tell you that they were wrong if they want to be honest with you. What I know is right is what I put here.

4. Dont waste your time, energy, and resources cutting costs. When they said N250,000 can set up 1 acre farm some years back, and I corrected it they said I was trying to mak you pay more. How many of you who follow them are rich today? Look at your life and be sincere. grin Poverty is written all over you. Be sincere with yourself. Forget about my fight with you. I am telling you. One is even a moniker with farm here, saying he is a tech guy who is nasty and a mod oooo, access him na. They promoted dullard. They wanted to confuse you. Search deeply. You know me. A no send 'em.

5. Set up very well. Things are cheap now oooo. See eh! With the way Nigeria is going, importing will be hard oooo. Of they successfully ban everything....hmmm. Buy your equipment oooo. I repeat, if you want to farm and you see yourself doing it like 2 years from now, or you dont even know when you can start. Bro and sis..contact me. I will do you a big favor. Quality that you will buy and be happy with. Drip that will stand well well. Mulch that will last so long. You will pack accessories like water. Lol (maybe not so cheap oooo, but really, good stuff). And if you store them now, in 2 years when you want to use it... you.will just be smiling cos the value would have increased. Not all these ones importers sell ooo.

Bros/Sis, by God's grace yours faithfully in fully into research presently and I can tell you that the stuff I have in my arsenal is superb.

This is the era of innovation. Enough of doing things stupidly. If things work out well, fund should come from abroad to set up an excellent startup agro business which will pull in innovations. #SmartFarming. The era of using your smart phone to control your farm around the corner. But sorry, it's not for hose and watery can carriers. Of course, it's not about huge money, but huge minds.

Those who couldn't see the future of what I preached discouraged you. But some took it well. They didnt have the cash then, but they started working towards it. And some of them are getting it right even without working with me now cos my price is high. I will not bring it down. Still they said they will raise the cash soon. Goodluck to them, and I wish they can. But even they cannot, I am satisfied that I have dropped more than enough here. And if I had just 10% of what I have dropped here, I wouldn't have hard time during my days. But guess what? No matter what you give someone without vision, it will be meaningless. The greatest hindrance of human is when the fellow has limited his capacity and ability of seeing the future. When money is the red tape, and the fellow defends it with all his might, and even debate why the watery cans and the hoses are the way forward ....hmmmm.

In 2021, you are still talking about using hose. Na waoooo! I mean, I find it terribly ridiculous. When everyone is going #smartfarming. Your fingers are damaged cos of hard work. Waooo! You look so old. Your fingers are hard that madam will need to massage again cos you touched her yesterday night. angry

This is the time to buy and keep your equipment. Even its 1 ha land you have and you can buy for 5 ha drip, you better buy it and store. I'm.telling you .....you will not regret it. You will be contacted to sell na. I'm telling you. People will get hold of you.

I'm available for everyone, and I am cheap for nobody. You will hear the words you deserve if you.are nasty. I promise you. But those whonste gentle always have reasons to be my friends. I know what I look for before I open conversation with anyone. And I know when to quit.
Hello sir. Please, I would really have love to contact you on this issue of mulch anddrip how can I get them. Also do you sell xventuri?

Great work and weldon's for the great work you are doing. May I ask what's is the cost of setting up a 10tons production capacity .

ozornet:
The oil that is derived from palm kernel are used for cosmetic product making and other vital industrial purposes. Palm kernel oil extraction business is one of the hidden lucrative and profitable businesses that many people are yet to know much about or anything at at all. Unless you are told of how lucrative this business is by an insider, you will never believe it makes any money let alone making millions. But I can tell you for certainty and for free that palm oil extraction business is a mega millions business. For those desiring to venture into the business without experience, it is advisable to link up with an experienced professional consultant

Do you know that you can make N200,000 and above daily even as a small/medium scale producer? Are you aware that palm kernel oil product is one of the few products you can sell right at the point of production, without necessarily needing to take it to the market or
advertising for buyers? Do you know that most of the time buyers even pay for the products in advance and give you time to buy the raw materials and produce for them?

It can be run in a small, medium and large scale, depending on your financial capacity . You may be wondering but where can one get palm kernel in large quantity? The Southern parts and some areas in the middle belt of Nigeria are palm tree growing zones. It is produced in hundreds of thousands of tones in the Eastern and South Southern parts of Nigeria annually. All you need to do is to go set up your palm kernel oil extraction business around the east/south south or you transport the raw materials, procured from the east or south south at a much cheaper rate, to your desired location and mill.

It is however most profitable when you set it up in an area where you can get Palm Kernel Nuts (PKN) in largest quantity due to transportation costs and other logistics. Ondo, Ekiti, Osun , Edo, Kogi and Benue states are also good at the production of palm kernel nuts too, so you may decide to source it there if you are within the West or middle belt

The Analysis Of Palm Kernel Oil Extraction Business
PKN – Palm Kernel Nut. The is the nut you get when a palm kernel’s hard shell is broken. That’s the nut where the oil we are talking about is extracted from.

PKO – Palm Kernel Oil. This is the actual oil that is being extracted from palm kernel nuts, the actual product or one of the main products we are talking about here.

PKC – Palm Kernel Cake. This is another product that is being derived from the palm kernel extraction process and it makes up good percentage of the palm kernel nuts processing..

According to a reliable statistic, it is believed that in every 25 metric tons of good palm kernel nut one is expected to get 10 metric tons of Palm Kernel Oil (PKO), another 13.5 metric tons of Palm Kernel Cake (PKC) as pure product and about one ton of a minor by-product called sludge oil.. Or from every 2.5 tons of kernel nuts processed, you wiil get one ton of PKO, 1.35 tons of PKC and 0.1 ton of Sludge

Below is how they are sold currently

Palm Kernel Oil sells for N650,000 per ton. The Palm Kernel Cake itself is sold for N60,000 per ton. While the Sludge goes for N160,000 per ton.

The cost of palm kernel nuts is N237,500 per ton. You will require ten tons of kernel nuts to extract four tons of the Oils, 5.4 tons of Cake and 0.4 ton of Sludge.

So if you process ten tons of kernel nuts per day which is the normal capacity of most locally made expellers (oil extractors), the cost of raw materials would be N2,375,000
The PKO produced would be N650,000 multiplied by 4 tons, which would give N2,600,000, the PKC produced would be 5.4 tons which would give N324,000 and the sludge produced would be 0.4 ton whichj would give N64,000.
Total sales revenue therefor equals N2,988,000.
When we subtract the cost of the raw materials from the sales revenue which would be N2,988,000 minus N2,375,000 therefore giving us a gross profit margin of N613,000 per day.

So even if we remove say 50% of this gross margin as other costs and expenses we shall be making a net profit of about N306,500 per day.

A consultant can produce a detailed and comprehensive profit and loss account for any interested person.

In a week, you will be making a whooping sum of N306,500 X 6 = ₦1,839,000

The expeller is made of the electric motor and/or diesel engine, the main axle (articulated vehicle axle like Mark, Styer or Kamaz truck axle) and the crushing chamber. The electric motor and/or diesel engine is the prime mover which propels the expeller mechanism. The axle reduces the speed of the prime mover, adjusts and transfers the speed to the main shaft which rotates inside the basket of the crushing chamber.
. At the back end is the electric motor and at the front end is the cage and bars arrangement. All these are mounted and coupled together on a rectangular main frame solidly supported by three iron blocks. On top of the machine is a hopper through which the palm kernel nuts are fed into the machine

The crushing chamber is the place where the grinding and oil extraction action takes place. The main cage of the chamber is where the crushing activities take place. The main cage is made up of a basket of strong iron bars arranged and woven together to form a cylindrical cage inside which the main shaft rotates This specially designed strong iron bars (normally made from the main springs of an articulated truck vehicle) are laid side by side, and nut spacers in between them. The cage is designed with open slots from where the expelled oil drains out. The bars are very well laid so that there would be no clogging of oil or loss of solids in the main cage.
The extra heavy-duty main expeller shaft in the cage is made from ringed iron bar worms (normally made from the main springs of an articulated truck vehicle), that are assembled sequentially such that the worms snake round the shaft from back end to the tip. The thrust of the pressure worm is taken upon a large ball-thrust bearing which makes for smooth crushing operation and alignmentt.

As the kernel nuts are fed into the expeller through a hopper (funnel) and picked up by the rotating shaft, the nuts are propelled by the spiral ringed worms on the shaft and as it moves the nuts through the tight iron cage, the nuts are crushed and the oil squeezed out from the ground and crushed nuts. The squeezed oil drips out through slits made in the basket bars of the cage while the palm kernel cake whose oil is thoroughly extracted and dried is expelled through the front end of expeller cone point. The oil collects in a through under the expeller cage from where it is channeled into the primary tank of the filter press ready for filtration. The palm kernel cake is then collected into bags measured and packed and ready for sale.

Hi robotix I have read this thread from the beginning till end. I have just exactly the same issues with you. The same way you talked about the sounds you hear and how it started. Infact, you have made me to understand that quinine could've the cause. I was given quinine when i was at a very young age of about 9years old back in 1999.i believe that's when the decline loss of hearing in my right hear started. Even though I was hearing well with my left. But later in 2006 I started having periodic tinitus and ever since then, despite visiti g hospitals, and being used as specimen in teaching hospitals , taken drugs etc I have been experiencing decline in my hearing. Infact I hardly hear any conversation only vey loud sounds. To cut the story short. From all what you have said. We have exactly the same issue and I believe it's cause by the same drugs. QUININE. PLEASE I WILL BE GLAD IF YOU CAN CONNECT ME WITH YOUR DOCTOR OR RECOMMEND SOMETHING USEFUL. I AM SERIOUSLY DOWN. I HARDLY HEAR MYSELF WHEN I SPEAK. THATS HOW BAD ITS IS NOW. HELP PLEASE lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

I just learnt from your new update..... having similar hearing issue..........the questions the doctor asked you like the catarrh symptoms etc i seem to experience it as well..... besides occasionally i hear ringing tunes or echoes for a brief period of time..........used hearing aids some years back. Honestly i felt hatred for it as it caused me emotional stress, harassment and embarrassment apart from the fact that it caused me and people around a lot of inconvenience........finally stopped using it to the annoyance of my parents back then as they would be using it harass and remind me of how expensive it costs to obtain it (about 600k back then 2007), besides it was also expensive to maintain as i would be visiting the doctor to buy new sets of batteries for my aids and also resolve one or two issues about it as well of which the doctor would collect money for the services rendered. I wowed i would never allow them get me something that expensive and harass me constantly, even when they begged appealed, my peace of mind was precious. Funny enough my hearing seems to have improved better than in the past, even my friends and family members observed and comments on it as well from time to time, i also do alot of DO-IT-YOURSELF hearing/ear therapies by researching massively on the internet about various ear problems, symtoms and DIY solutions, i must admit it has really helped my hearing. from experience most Nigerian ENT Doctors are after the money and not how they can help u resolve and treat your hearing loss passionately. it was when my parents travelled to India that they discovered that my ENT doc was ripping us off by giving me hearing aids that re not tailored or not designed for my specific hearing loss/problem and also selling at an overpriced rate (my folks bought two different sets of hearing aids back then from our Nigerian ENT doc). i was using analogue instead of a customized digital, the indian ENT doctor was mad and angry at such wickedness and gave me a set of digital aids at a cheaper price at 250K. hence we cut ties with doc. It was an eye opener for me. hence i made up my mind that if i am to go for any ENT services and hearing aids. its india, canada, us, uk. but india is the best and is cheaper compared to the other countries.
Hi sincerely , reading this post just makes me feel like crying. I have been a victim of hearing loss for almost two decades now. I have tried treating with different methods but yet no improvement. Instead , it gets worse on daily basis.

Reading this tread ,I also discovered I was treated once with quinine at age 8.i guess that's where my problem started as well. Just as robotics have explained

As a young boy then, I grew up to discover that I can't really hear with my right ear, only with my left ear. But later, I started experiencing tinitus , than Goes on and off. Some times for weeks , sometimes for a few days and it's always accompanied by hearing loss. I tried different hospitals. But yet no solution right now the hearing issues is getting worse ,I hardly hear, even with my left ears again. Worst part of it is I don't hear myself until I cup my ear with my hands ,so as to direct the sound towards my hear when I speak.

Bro seriously , I am really fed up and exhausted. Sometimes I just feel like commiting suicide. But I just believe I will over come soon. Please if you have a way of linking me with a good doctor please , I will be very grateful.

It is high time I stopped Baba Ahmed from wasting this plantain waste on the farm and we start generating foreign exchange from it.

Our plantain farm alone can generate hundred of thousand of dollars, not to talk of other thousands of plantain farms around.

Unfortunately as a nation and as an individual we are blind to those kind of opportunities that can easily generate good revenue for us.

If we focus on this plantain value chain as a nation, this might add some tens/hundred of millions of dollars to our reserve but the question is who will?.....May God open our eyes to see these wealth creating opportunities agriculture present and the ability to explore through.

STAKING OF PLANT

One way to improve yield when cultivating vegetables is staking plants. Vegetables benefit a lot from staking and they also grow well. The process can be a little bit tedious but the end result is encouraging. You will see your crops blossoming and producing healthy fruits throughout the growing season. You can improvise and use any type of material you want. The most important thing is that the stakes should be sturdy and driven well into the ground so that they can support the weight of the fruiting plants. At least a foot or more of the stakes can be driven into the ground. Ensure that the support is strong enough to bear the weight of the fruit and can also withstand heavy winds or rain. There are lots of benefits of staking climbers. A little understanding of these benefits will encourage every gardener to consider the system instead of allowing crops to run on the ground.

*BENEFITS OF STAKING NET*

1. Increase in yield
The most important reason for staking crops is to increase yield. Studies carried out in different locations shows that growing crops vertically increases yield three times than when they are allowed to run on the ground.

2. Maintain fruit quality

A healthy fruit without blemishes attracts better price. That’s why gardeners will do anything to prevent their fruits from damages. Damages can occur when fruits are allowed to run on the ground. They are exposed to insect attacks and other creeping things.

3. Disease-free plants

Every gardener wish is to make sure their plants are free from diseases. This can be achieved by staking crops rather than allowing them to run on the ground. They can easily contract diseases when allowed to remain and run on the ground. But when they are raised up with stakes, they experience better air circulation which reduces the incidence and spread of diseases.

4. Exposure to sunlight

Crops like tomatoes need as much sun as they can possibly get during the day. And for such crops, staking exposes a greater part of the leaves’ surface to sunlight which they need to generate energy and grow well.

5.Cultivate more crops in limited space

There is no point looking for an extra piece of land to add to the one you have when you can simply double your yield. Staking allows you to utilize limited space well. There are many reasons to use stakes to grow plants. It makes harvesting, spraying, fertilizer application and watering easier. You can explore the various methods used in staking plants. You can also get creative but make sure the stakes are sturdy enough to support the weight of the fruits as they grow bigger in size.
