Please I'm sorry for derailing thread, not intentional though. I need urgent advice to enable me take a decision. Below is my question.



Please I need urgent advice on the subject above. I just received an email from Diamond bank asking me to report to their head quarter in Abuja for a 3weeks graduate trainee program prior to posting. From what i heard, their probation period last for six weeks, of which you be paid 80k and after you have been confirmed, you will received 240k as monthly salary.

Normally, I ought to be excited considering the fact that I have followed up with this job for the past two years and it has finally arrived and also my present job pays a little less than 100k monthly, which is enough incentive for me accept the offer but I'm not.

Why? I have plans of travelling to Canada with my wife and daughter hopefully by September, for a masters degree program with the aim of settling their afterwards. By God's grace we have been able to save some money for the trip and my tuition fees, and my wife is very passionate about leaving this country. She fears if I take up the banking job, I'll not have enough time to follow up with the travel arrangements and also we might tamper with our savings, in the course of relocation since we stay in Port Harcourt for which I agree.

Please guys what do you think, is 240k a month salary worth jeopardizing my travel plans? I have till tomorrow to reply the bank.

Note: I haven't secured admission yet.

I have already paid more than half of my tuition... When we went to the bank to inquire about my SOA and the reasons why i needed it, the manager told us it was perfect as it was a running account with a "daily" average transaction of 500-700k, and an opening & closing balance of 4-6mil. As he told us the embassies only look out of the history of the account as he had done the same before when he visited Canada. Please let me know if i still need a co sponsor

My dad gets funds from real estate sources & through his pension. Isnt that enough reasons he could sponsor me ? You know as naija be now...

3 I was told i would also include members of my family in my application. My brother is currently in south africa on a business visa & my sister has citizenship status in the UK... can i add this information or will it scupper my chances as it may show the visa examiner that i may not return after the duration of my program, which by the way i plan to come back home. I just dont like the UK, should have applied with them instead.

Nawa ooooo...2001 is long time ooo...u see after u register business there r some yearly remittant u make to CAC is like 2500 per year to enable them know you still maintain your business name and is in operations..well if u want long leg..i can easily put u through...within some days u get your tin.u can email me.......

2 He had a business name registered in 2001 as a sole proprietorship but it hadnt commenced business since then... perhaps i may include the cac in my application but is that advisable without a tax clearance certificate to go along with ? I was told the FIRS only issued tax certs to registered 'companies' & LIRS to employees or business individuals... but my dad is a pensioner whos exempt from paying tax. What do i do ? Please advise

You may likely get a co sponsor...

Now for the Tax certificate....is very simple..since he has a registered business certificate...go to firs office around your area....and write an application letter for Tin and Vat certificate...detailing that your business is registered but have not commenced business since 2011 due to some reasons...go with your original CAC certificate....nepa bill...and id card...n do photocopy each and submit within 3days you get your firs tax certificate...that is my area of specializations

Then LIRS...all you need to do you can registered yourself and dad as direct assessment ...just declare yourself..for salary of 400000 per annum for 3 years...2015...2016..2017...and pay 8400 for each year..... to lirs account. And your tax card and revenue receipts wil be available...since you n dad are the owner of the business..if u v long leg...u can get it within 4days also...

If you have any...survey or c of o...u can include it...

ohk notes Tnks. Na I didn’t add dere birth certificate. Should dt b done. The thing ere is I listed 4siblings. And 3 ain’t in the country. Just one and my parents are in the county. Hope that’s no issue too

It should not be an issue..since u listed them....the once around try n include there birth certificate

@Bkaylore, please do order for your GCMS notes to know the real reason behind your refusal.

However, I would like to caution everyone on the "statement of account" thing. It is not about how much is in the account, but how much is available to you and readily exportable. Besides, SOA is just a part of the requirements, there are other requirements that an applicant need to fulfil before being granted trv.

no I didn’t use my personal account. And yes I studied business admin as undergraduate. And naw I want to study human resource management and international business management. I made mention of thoes things in my SOP

Sorry to input....if u v a good money in your account...u can include it.....but if n if u dont v dont add it..becos they will tink u r d one sponsoring yourself n using sponsored to cover up...i will advise u only use your sponsored account...

My cousin is my sponsor..email doesnt bear the same surname with me because he's my dad's sister's son... what documents can I submit to show relationship.

..birth certificate of my cousin
Are these 3 documents enough to prove relationship with my cousin?

My dad have got a business, but it is not registered thanks. My mum works in saudi arabia, but i can only able to get her bank statements. her original employment letter is hard to get as she is not presently there.

iii..bank reference letter
iv..cac certificate

Vi..Article of association...but i was not able to get invoice and rent receipts.but my sponsor explain in her letter the summary of transactions in her bank statement and d business she is doing

Now dis time i have to include her birth certificate and mum birth certificate.......and family pics

Its very important that you present evidence to proof the source of your parents money, you can not explain it in paper without evidence to submit your claim.

Exactly..@justwise......that circle ....cic gave 3 options...and d easiest option is rent receipts...invoices etc....even if he explain it in sop......how will they believe him without...one of d options....

How can someone just wake and say just submit bank statement and explain in your SOP witout any prove...assuming d business is register is a simple case.....yes d bank statement has good balance....wat r d back off....

My talk sir...follow...justwise advise....if am in your shoe i will not even try submitting only bank statement despite the requirement from Cic...i wil like to be on a safer side

Nop i didnt....yes uni regina said u can make payment first day of resumption...or pay into your UR accoutn a minimum of 500cad....which ever way....then u can pay before arrival..okay thank for the information share

May be my cgp...is not up to pgd....i guess...i came out with lower credit both in my ND and HND level...yes am planing to apply with it...althought my age will not affect my applications....because during my admission the school wrote back to me that my gp....point is not up to pgd...but BSC and they wave some course for me

I only know of undergraduate tuition fee for my department only.......which is 18000cad per year
