kkbabygirl:

I entered the US legally to deliver my baby. The baby was born in Dec 15.

Regrettably the baby was born with a congenital heart disease called trunsuc artheriosis. She has had two heart surgeries and is currently in the hospital. She has lived all her life in the cardiovascular intensive care unit.

At the moment, the doctors are uncertain of her discharge date. Additionally the baby is billed for more hospital visits and surgeries in the future.

Unfortunately, the health care delivery in Nigeria cannot guarantee my baby a better care. I have confirmed that our hospitals are ill equipped and have poor manpower and skill to manage the baby health. The baby's condition is such that she will require a periodic hospital visit and future replacement of some valve in the heart.

I am skeptical of taking my baby back home. While I am praying for her complete recovery, it is my desire to remain in the US and watch my baby have the best health care in the world.

Please I need advise on how to achieve this.

Thank you.
Hello kkbabygirl, Congratulation and thank God for safe delivery. So sorry for all that have happened and I know God will give you a much more reason to smile again through her complete and total healing. As for your baby going back to Nigeria is not a good idea for now maybe later. As for filling for extension you can, due to medical purpose. All you need to do is book appointment on Info pass and go to Houston immigration office and make inquiry on what your options are. Go with all your medical documentation and asked the baby's doctors to write you a detail letter on the medical situation and care plan. As for funds, you can go to gofundme to create and raise fund for yourself by telling your story and asking people to help if they can. I know the government will give you some kind of relief if you speak with the billing office and the babies social workers. if you need more info let me know, I will start to ask questions on what can be done. I pray you find favor and helper, it is well will continue to pray for you and ur baby. Also call Texas woman and see how they can help too , I know they have some kind of programs they do for women relief too.

Hello Jacksparow,
Sorry for what happened to your in law but in regards to your case of mislead it will not hold up in court because they were trying to save her and the baby's life. I am sure they explained to her what she was signing but the pain wouldn't let her ember. In the case of hearing test I am sure they had to do it to make sure the baby was okay. That child could have developed unknown issues or better still died if they hadn't taken the step that was taken. Before I had my girl last year I refuse epidural and others offered to me. At the time i signed for epidural thank God i signed blood transfusion too. After I had my baby i almost coded because of low blood. At that time none of my family member was around to sign any paper for me, they had just step out. My savor was that which I signed before going in. I got two pints of blood to save my life, I know for sure if i didn't sign and my life was in danger the doctors would have given me the blood to save my life. You can try getting a lawyer , I think we should just thank God for the lives that was saved.

But they are shopping one diaper for $30 according to their website
Oh really? it's usually $4 per pond but I know they prepare people shipping stuff more than $40 so they can cover cost I guess. When i was shipping i don't just ship only one box of diaper because it dose not make sense to me.

This shipping Company is good have been using them since 2009 and Stanley and co have only failed once because the office at ikeja misplaced my diaper, hand sanitizer and 9 cans on Gerber soy. The good thing is that you can make a complaint to get your money back but I just had to live it alone due to my relationship with the owner Stanley.

Thanks Bbiz.

I haven't been to the specified bank yet but visited BOAmerica and Wells Fargo for their personal and children's account.

For the children's account I'll need the baby's SSN but I can fund the account from Nigeria.

I will give an update once I'm done with the enquiries. Hopefully, after my doctor's appointment on Friday.

Thanks for checking up.

Regards.
Oh okay! I still think you should go to BBVA Compass cos they don't ask for service charges. which will really work well while you are in nija. I have an account with chase was paying $12 for monthly charge in nija and still do till now. I had to open BBVA myself. I like chase because of the face that they are in every location and they do quick pay. For the baby's account i don't thing any of the banks charges. hope to hear the good news.

Thanks All on the baby cot suggestions. I was really referring to an actual location where you can buy. What I see on those online stores are quite pricy.

Guess I'll try Westminster then
Check at Fallas on Belleire and HWY 6 same shopping center with fiesta food and their is a beauty supply their too.

Warm regards.
Hello , Just checking where you able to open the bank account?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by bbiz: 10:15pm On Nov 14, 2015
Hello Zoemummy, How are you doing today? As for question asked go to University parkway on hwy 6 close to Walmart and Sam's club.

Go to BBVA compass bank their website is www.bbvacompass.com/
No-Fee Checking Account, Full-Service Free Checking Near You, Unlimited Checks, Bill Pay & More!Premium Checking Account,Earn Interest & Free Premium Checks,No BBVA Compass ATM Fees!

Go with your Nigeria passport and make sure you have a USA address.
You will be ask your Nigeria address, how much you make a year, how much your you have in assets which includes property, cars and others Etc. All calculated in dollars, Tell them how long you plan to stay and where you want your mails to be send to.
Make sure you are not below USA poverty level cos they also look at that.
You only need $25 to open up the account.

You can also open at Bank of American and Chase too but it will attract monthly service charge.
Also Check Wellsfargo I don't think they charge monthly service not too sure you can check them out too.

Hope was able to answer your question?

@All

..for those who are quick to send PM when they see an ad for cheap accommodation please be careful, you will be traveling to US with a lot of money and more likely to be targeted, consider your own security and that of your unborn baby when considering sharing an accommodation with that stranger you met online.
True talk! but you can also go to the bank the day of your arrival at your final destination to open up an account so your money can be kept safe. All you need is your passport and address. I took a mother to open one 2 months ago and she is not getting monthly charges and her money is also safe.

Please I'm undecided about getting a baby crib from Houston and shipping to Nigeria. Kindly share your thoughts. Those that bought from the US, was it worth it and what shops can one get a good deal from if I decide to get one here.
Hello Qeenwest, How are you doing? if you don't mind me adding, I think buying from US is cheaper if you are sending it with other things. than Nigeria because most people buy from here to sell there. I also think you should wait till black Friday before buying so you can get the thanksgiving sales. As for stores Burlington coat factory is good but Walmart is not bad too, I order mine online using Walmart. just search you might get 4 in 1 + bed as bonus too.

Hi people,

finally got into Houston a week ago.
Had an awful POE story, had to spend 8h in detention huh ==> bottom line : don't show up there with less than 7 to 8 k$ in HARD CASH
my detailed story is on the way.
I will be staying with relatives for 3 weeks but after the baby comes, I would like to find a new accommodation for 3 and a half weeks
Any suggestion please ?
Hello Shanaka29, how are you doing? Welcome to Houston, like others have stated, I think staying with family would have been more helpful but we shouldn't force it on you because you may have reasons for your decision. If NL will permit me to say, I still have room available and don't mind you sharing my space with me as a roommate for the 31/2 weeks you wish to stay. Since I am still currently looking for roommate.
NL hope this is okay? just want to be sure am not going against the rules?

Bbiz Awww sorry for ur loss.
That being said d more u explain urself, the more u contradict urself.

If u wanna share a room that's fine... No qualms

U have two rooms for rent, in two different locations.
If u ain't an agent the way ur pms come off is totally different from one who just want a room mate to split bills. I still can't get over the fact dat u have two rooms in different locations.

I mean u r talking transportation, weekly grocery shopping etc...
Let's assume u r marketing for someone... Drop the info here let people browse about it and make enquiries themselves. THIS THREAD IS DO IT YOUR SELF.

Plus ur stories don't tally honey.... They just don't.
And if this is a business for u... There's no qualms... Pay for ads. Or just b transparent about it... You'll get alot of customers sef... Not alll this hide and seek things....
See u talking about personal shii about u just cos u wanna defend an obvious fact
Thanks for the advise, I never said I have two room in another locations, I said i have a room in another location because the wanted a private room and I know a pregnant woman who have one and also looking for a roommate. I offered to weekly grocery or transportation because I can and i still do for my room mates. I know this ground better than anyone here if I may say, I do go to groceries myself too and for shopping. I can also choose to do it for free too it is my choice. I can not say i am doing a business that i don't make profit from. If there is no profit ma please how can i pay the bills for the Ads you suggested. I have been transparent to the best of my knowledge. Note: Only God knows if my stories add up or not.

@bbiz u know ur accommodation ain't for free.like ladyg said u r running an enterprise wit a package attached so just come out n advertise it no need hiding behind
Akelvin, I never said my accommodation is for free but I am not running an enterprise neither am not an agent because I am not making profit from it. I was just trying to cut down my bills due to the unforeseen situation I have found myself for few months and have spent a lot which was almost wasted if God had not answer me on time. I remember you asking for inquiry from me too.

This Bbiz woman her package is like d likes of soulcare et AL.. Someone forwarded her msg to me... Don't make me post ur email to her.

Be honest and seriously there's no need for the unnecessary "bragging" story...
1. We don't care
2. It doesn't matter
So sorry if i came across as an agent trying to share my space to cut down bills. no matter how rich you are if you are spending and not replacing it will finish someday. I am also spending niara here and it's not easy!

So naira land1 I am not an agent am just trying to ease my bills due to dollar and naira situations
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by bbiz: 7:49am On Nov 03, 2015
LadyGuinivere:
Are u sharing this accomodation for free? If yes, my apologies. If no, then you are helping yourself and breaking rule 6. You are running an enterprise, making profit and advertising free.
Now my issue is not even the loss Nl is posting (afterall @jw una no de gimme shishi cheesy) but the fact that you are codedly cornering folks to your place . Pm me this and that. Come out plain and advertise. By so doing, a burden of higher standard is placed upon u to be fair and nice to NL moms because whatever u do filters back here.
In conclusion, with the above points I hope I have made it clear to u that u are an agent of your two rooms in houston wherein u advertise to people to stay and pay u.
Do the right thing madam
Madam thanks for your advise but you should check your fact before you say stuff about me like you've just did.
1. I did share my accommodation for free before for and I don't need to share details with you.
2. I did not brake any rules because I do not see any different between me and those other post that says they also need a roommate due to the fact their wife is bored or lonely or they are lonely.
3. Naira land never stated that pregnant woman should not share their space with others either?
4. Or am i been penalized for begin a US Citizen from nija who happened to have a space to share with other pregnant mom?
5. What is the different between us? How many niara land mom's paid for sharing their accommodation space.
6. If i was doing this for money making business, I will not come here because many of you mom's here are very cheap. Why very many are more reasonable.
7. please do not judge me. Pregnancy take 9-10 month to deliver, many choose to come earlier than others dose not mean they are agents of two rooms madam.
