I will not fascilitate your phobia of the North or participate in your customary bigotry. GEJ is Nigeria, the commander in chief of the armed forces, and the number one security chief of Nigeria. Now Nigeria and Nigerians are under attack, if the President is notresponsible for addressing the issue in your opinion, then you are either dishonest or outright dumb.

Do you or don't you agree that the solution I've proposed would work, if not what's your own proposal? You'd be surprised who reads these posts. This is not the time to point accusatory fingers but a time to find a resolution to the emergency at hand.
My proposal is that you take your other sharia loving dolts, form your own country and leave us in peace. We are now tired of you, producing nothing, yet killing wantonly.

Can I ask you a simple question? If you don't reply, then you are more or less a boko haram supporter.
Are you a Nigerian first, then a Muslim or are you a Muslim first then a Nigerian?

Who created the donkey loads of almajiri's and willing suicide bombers in your part of the country? GEJ?
As I asked before, why don't you call GEJ to clean your arse after you use the loo as well? angry
Politics › Re: Boko Haram. The Full Package! by Beaf: 8:37pm On Nov 06, 2011
This is another unhelpful thread packed with thinly veiled fawning and filled to the brim with inaccuracies. This is one highly dangerous example:

The government, made initial publications that they were brought in dead (BID) .The press released a live footage and photos of the sect leader. Then the government quickly, retrieved and replaced their initial press statement with a very un-intelligent one “They try escaping and were shot!!”
It was the police and army that released conflicting statements, not the govt. There are reasons why policemen are facing trial for the murder of Yusuf, which the OP is best served to find out.
I wonder whose interests are served by such manipulation of recent history?

And thier reasons??. . . Illegal clamping, jailing and continue detention of their members without any recourse to justice, ordered by the state government.  This was done purposely to satisfy “other” high ranking Islamic scholars in the state (pseudo-political scholars) with different ideology and doctrine. Before this, there was the incident of refusal of allowing them to continue practicing their faith in the state.
The slain leader of Boko Haram was a cool guy (No pun intended), which can be invited to ANY discussion without any hesitant or refusal. From my personal study and understanding the motive of the group, I won’t be far from the truth if I say the group came out to protest against the long failure of northern political oligarchy, which has violated every opportunity to transform and educate their masses. I have listen and watched Yusuf (slain Boko Haram) leader defending his ideology, which I think to some extent is mainly trying to create awareness to the crime of the politicians.
Talk about praising evil. I'm sure to the OP, the innocent souls lost to the mindless bombings have been govt officials. Also, those the "cool" Yusufs thugs killed were mere items on the shopping list to get at the "northern political oligarchy."

This thread is at best, dangerously foolish and at worst, treasonable.
Politics › Re: Bomb Attacks Possible In Abuja This Week - US Embassy by Beaf: 8:05pm On Nov 06, 2011
It is only a matter of time before the US army sets up in Nigeria and engages in a scorched earth engagement with Islamic extremists in the North. They are the ones calling for the marines.

Personally, I would welcome the mighty power of the US to straighten one or two minds.

You are always the first to defend the fuckry called almajiri institution in Nigeria; you guys have manufactured 10million of these unfortunate kids without GEJ's help and now he is to blame? 10million abused souls, charged to mad-eyed wildness with religious fervour and a willingness to kill for twopence.

Once more peeps, lay off shooting the bloody messenger. The intentions of the thread are genuine, furthermore one man's betrayal is another man's strategy for survival, I don't give a flying Fu*ck about his choice of words, it's better than being played or shafted by Almajiri Ladyboys that have always manipulated us and still continue to do so even on this bloody thread, I can smell the odour from my location. I am pi*ssed off.
I feel you.
The latest fad on NL these days is to join the herd and just talk fantastic nonsense. It is best for all to be prepared; nobody is asking for strife, but when it hits our doorstep, let us be ready to protect our women and children.
Science/Technology › Re: Human Waste For Electricity, Do You Support It? by Beaf: 6:39pm On Nov 06, 2011
Solar Cells are the wrong way to go when considering solar energy development in a country like Nigeria. There is a technology that is simplicity itself, called thermoacoustics. It is a novel way of converting heat energy into sound energy, which can in turn be converted into electricity by a variety of low tech means; it has no moving parts and is basically a well designed pipe. Thermoacoustic Heat Engines have practical efficiencies of between 20% and 30% and highs of 48% have been achieved in research labs, this compares favourably with solar cells general efficiencies of about 5%.

It would be relatively easy to train our artisans to build such machines to tailored specs, whereas, it takes a high tech outlay to produce solar cells if we don't wish to import them. I was sure we had plans for how to build the machines at http://afrosciencecommunity.com/Article.aspx , but I've searched and not found any; we'll make it a point to publish some ASAP.

Thermoacoustics is miracle technology for any developing country blessed with abundant solar insolation as Nigeria is.

You can read a bit about Thermoacoustic Heat Engines here (also check out the references at the bottom of the page): http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermoacoustic_heat_engine

Record efficiency in conversion of heat to sound

Basic idea of thermo acoustics engineResearchers from the Energy research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) have achieved a record efficiency in the conversion of heat to sound. In a so-called thermo-acoustic engine they have improved on the existing record of 41% to reach 48% of the maximum possible efficiency.

@frosbel
Your analysis is correct. We need to really be looking at outside strategies to combat the menace of boko haram; it is common-sense that we should do everything to cooperate with with the powers that be over  what is evidently part of the global threat of al qaeda. We really do not want the US to invite itself in when it is too late for us to direct their intervention in a way that benefits us; it will only take the death of a single American for marines to hit our shores and dictate the tune.

CyberG i would have loved comment on the original Thread itself but i cant lay my hands on it for now.

in the  original thread u said questioned pple who have not witnessed aluta, robbery,or survived one etc commenting on topics that concerns biafra. everybody does not have to witness biafra to comment on it, there are books that documented the happening during the war. if u find some making a false claim about the war, i believe u can challenge him/her here on NL and set the facts straight since u sound like someone who witnessed it urself, u don't have to come out and start asking irrelevant questions like u just did by starting this thread.
Strangely, the OP claims not to even have been born at the time of the civil war.
I made the mistake of joining the thread, thinking there was some genuine purpose to it; but I have come to realise it is just another of those brainless baiting threads that dot NL.

Thanks demdem but what will you have GEJ do?
The problems of insecurity did not start with him, I think some people just seize the moment
to rubbish jonathan.
Inefficiency in the security agencies had always been with us but some people (a powerful clique) who want
to portray GEJ as clueless are hellbent on rubbishing him through BH.
No matter how tough or capable you are, the solutioon lies in addressing the system and not showing off as
a strong man.
I lived in the north; I know how porous the borders are and how weak the security arrangement is.
Blaming the rot on GEJ's inefficiency is a bit unfair.
You cannot wish sanity into existence in this case because it is a rot that has lasted decades.
Besides, we know how easily it is to obtain most of the materials for bomb making and the non existence of
any meaningful record keeping by our traders in case you want to identify people who bought so so and so.
With the unregulated nature of our markets and traders, where will you start asking the question?
And with due respect to my Moslem brothers, it is alarming the rate at which hate messages are preached in some
mosques in the north and especially the ones that circulate on mobile phones.
GEJ cannot stop the hate messages and that is basically what fuels this crisis.
I have about six of these audio hate messages and I shiver whenever I listen to them knowing how persuasive the
orators are and the effect the messages will have on misguided Moslems(who are many)
I think you are being too kind to the likes of demdem, a cold set of people who see every bomb victim as a political pawn. For them, every bomb blast is an opportunity to sing halleluya.
People like that are both wicked and tragically foolish.

Boko haram is the culmination of decades of misrule and a deliberate policy of dumbing down of our armed forces in order to protect military dictators. It is also due to the decades of inhuman neglect that has produced 10million almajiri's (a number higher than the population figures of two thirds of the Worlds countries); those dehumanised kids are now a willing army in the hands of boko haram.
The likes of demdem lack the cereberal and moral capacities to think beyond the veil, such explanations are a waste on them.

You people are just cowards who come and mouth off on NL, but whose d.i.cks shrivel when told to put actions to your words. A corrupt person is a thief regardless of whether they are in ACN, ANPP, APGA, DPP, LP or PDP. Do you think your vulcaniser cares about what party the thief down the street that is ruining his babies future belongs in?

Dude, please pass by. You have been seen through and should be thoroughly ashamed for trying to derail a thread calling on everyone to stand up to corruption.
It is either you are a coward, afraid to stand up, or you are corrupt. Don't worry, this is just the warning call; the time is coming when we will sharpen our knives and sling our AK's, we will see whether you will be man enough to stand in the way on that day.

Why are you so scared of the street rising up to fight corruption? I am deeply puzzled.
I would expect that any of the many NL contributors would be only too happy to see the common man have a better life.

If you have nothing to hide, why are you afraid of the street rising to demand an end to corruption? Maybe you think the tide will get so strong it will sweep you away, Lol!

My younger days were spent as a student leader in the times when aluta meant action.

The only problem is today's youth, all many have are mouths where their balls should be. We all need to gird our loins and demand a future that is bright for our kids; we need to demand an equitable society where everyone from the blind, deaf and dumb to muscle bound giant and the brainy academic can say, "this is my country, I am proud to belong."
