They simply want to promote NURTW members to uniform wearers, touting officially for the man with the bulging eyes. Who knows? The new, improved NURTW might even release a hit song called "We egbe e! OAM4J: ^lol Dude, you are the one who is paranoid and prejudiced. Otherwise, you would know how to be reserved as a moderator. What mod would attack an NLer for being pro-GEJ in a way that attracts the "forty laptop" fools (who should be banned for stalking, anyway)? What sort of mod actively encourages stalking? You obviously think being a mod makes you a god or that banning people forces respect. If anything, it causes disrespect and makes you lose any standing. Weild your ban in your creatively prejudiced and irresponsible ways, bro. Its your call, I'm done with this argument. While at it, don't forget to build an alter so I can worship you. |

jaybee: Your comment is the foolish one, bruv. Ogoni minds have obviously left Nigeria. The real question is; what restructing has Nigeria got to offer to win back those minds? This is pertinent, because almost all in the SE/SS are disgruntled, because the country was designed as a parasite (whereas, we have so many talents and alternate resources to oil). Nigeria is not in a state of robust health, unfortunately it was deliberately made so to suit the pockets of the "owners." The owners of Nigeria in turn, have become a plague on their immediate surroundings, so the national question is far from simply an Ogoni one. 5 Likes |

Banned by Seun in Politics for "your misfiring (and rather primitive) emotions are leading you into the trashcan (as usual).". Ban expires on 4:15pm I wonder how the above is worth a ban? It is not even remotely insulting. My suspicion is that it is another of OAM4J's shenanigans. I certainly do not believe it was Seun. OAM4J is hardly moderator material, he is emotional, petty, partisan and deeply prejudiced. The other day, he banned me for calling his actions a few choice and highly coloured words after he personally started off an unprovoked personal attacks which quickly descended into the "40 laptop" tosh. No moderator should be so childish, insulting and visibly biased. Moderators should not make unprovoked personal attacks. Other things OAM4J has banned me for? Simply posting to an anti-Aregbe thread (he unbanned me when I PMed him asking if I'd been banned for fun), linking to harmless pics that exist on NL and for which the original uploaders were not banned, of course those pics are still unhidden in their original posts as well. It is best for the politics section to have principled mods (like HNosegbe, Haka Nai etc) who are also critical of the govt (for balance), than to have mods that make it look like they are running a racket or some sort of mafia. The post for which I was banned was in response to the obviously insulting ones below. torkaka: I'm glad you got the bolded. Edwin Clark simply pointed out what every sensible Nigerian (including core-Northerners) has on their mind, which is that core-Northern elite promised violence after political and electoral losses... and now we have boko haram. 2 + 2 = 4. The truth is bitter. |

Hmm! Ferrari used to be F1's grand cheats in Schumi times, with illegal fuels, components etc, so they know the ins and outs of these things. Helmut Marko just might have forcefully strode into shark infested waters (with the colour of the sharks being "red" and the jugular being in Red Bull colours). torkaka: Sorry, the thread is about Northern leaders, so your misfiring (and rather primitive) emotions are leading you into the trashcan (as usual). The core-Northern elite promised bloodshed before and after they lost the elections, so now that we have blood and suicide bombers, every thinking person concludes that they are behind it. Your emotions are not a curtain over the truth and our observations. The truth is bitter. |

Cleverley: ogoni people are they not SS? I pity them sha. You pity people who know what they want and who you can offer nothing? Thats really strange, bro. The rest of the SS is not too far behind, the SE is even closer. These people have realised the immense power they wield in the nation, only to have reaped suffering, pollution and death before now. The current Nigerian architecture has nothing to offer minorities; luckily God blessed these same minorities with the golden egg that powers both the FG and its allocations. Perhaps, the only way to force through the much needed national conference is for each and every SE/SS group to declare indigenous rights to autonomy with the UN like the Ogoni's. Only then will Nigeria wake up and people finally start reasoning like humans. We are better off as one country, but no group is slave to the other. |

torkaka: That is just the same way no militant has ever mentioned Clark, yet you found a way to do so. Your outbursts are mere emotion that can do nothing to change the minds of thinking and observing people. If you threaten to kill someone and next thing, the person dies, who will be the first person the police arrest? The truth is bitter, bro. Ask your elite why they need boko haram. |

Cleverley: That is exactly how it should be. We are now a civilised country. If you want the Ogoni's back, then convince them about what you can contribute to them feeling any belonging. All Nigeria wants is their oil while saying, "phuck those minority people." Perhaps, the rest of the SE/SS will begin reacting more strongly. 2 Likes |

Politics / Re: Pat Utomi: This Goat Is Smarter Than Most Nigerian Governors by Beaf: 12:25pm On Aug 03, 2012 |
Delafruita: American federalism is what the Nigerian version was modelled against. Our constitution is based on the US equivalent which is tried, tested and hugely successful. The reason Nigeria is failing is the contortions written into the constitution to ensure that the country remains forever under the grip of ex-generals and those they pick. The ideals in the US constitution were removed, so that instead of freedom, a govt of official patronage would flourish with Abuja as the focal point of cash disbursement; giving the President godlike status, while states were discouraged from believing in any other ability outside that of sharing awuf, gallivanting the globe, talking crap about "World Bank loans," "airconditioned bridges," hiring 900+ aides etc. The simple truth is that ALL Nigerian states can be economically independent and developed off their own steam. All it takes is for a governor to actually strive to serve and empower his people. And it doesn't take much, because the average person is bursting with talent; from the Kano dye pits, to Bida brasses, Naraguta leather, Awka blacksmithing etc. We've got it all, its just that there are no avenues for our local talent. The people just need to be released an unleashed. There is no reason on Gods Earth why Nigerian states cannot be like the American ones, who instead of being reliant of govt handouts, are incredible powerhouses of development. The state of Carlifornia would be the 8th richest country in the World by GDP if it was a nation; they surely don't need allocation awuf, in fact it would be an insult for such to be mentioned. We are able bodied, so why can our states not be like the American ones? As for our local govts, I'll leave a picture from a Jamaican rural area to show an example of what they should be doing. The last time I posted pics of people unhygienically selling meat in PH and lagos, many people became ridiculously upset (most for ethnically bigoted reasons). http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20101018/lead/lead3.html |

Dotman01: Can't or Won't? Whether the house can't or won't impeach the President is beyond the point. The point is that Farouk will be tried even if heaven falls, no matter how hard the subsidy mafia forces fight back. GEJ doesn't give a damn anyway (and thats why he is in Trinidad and Tobago, not caring for the reps infantile flappings). |

boysy: This is getting so annoying. Why is our security agency takes Nigerian for granted. The same story over and over again. They are always set to arraign Lawan but no action taken. Enough of this boyish attitude from a serious matter as this. If you've enough evidence against him, why can't he be arraigned and stop telling 170million Nigerian stories day after day. We cannot take this from you people again is high time you people sit up and do the right thing as soon as possible. Right now the man is enjoying himself at the comfort of his home while you keep update us with inactive comment every time. Enough of this. It is best to learn about due process than complain about it, bruv. What Nigeria needs is to change the constitution as it concerns judicial matters, lets not be good at screaming illogical emotion into the wind. Learn the root of the problem and attack it. |

The "weak, tired old men" you are talking about are both part of govt as members of the Nigerian Council of State (as is Obj); in fact Buhari is so "old" that he is actually gunning for yet another quixotic shot at the presidency come 2015. Na wa! Sir, there is no point making excuses that are so desperate as to be utterly and completely ridiculous. Very nice one from Pat Utomi. I have always asked when Nigerians will learn to question their governors and LG bosses. Most people are happy, so long as awuf flows from Abuja, but no successful country is run that way. Instead, the Nigerian system of largesse from above and laziness from below is the road to ruin and perdition. It is in the interest of every Nigerian, young and old, to know the duties and responsibilities of their LG and state govts. Your state is meant to provide the frameworks and enabling environment for local business and industry to flourish. It is your governors duty and surely not that of the FG to develop your state, provide health services, education, employment etc. These things are not for the FG to do; you cannot give a man a wife (Abuja monthly awuf) and be expected to do the deed in the darkness, because the man is inept about how babies are born. Take a cue from the US and see how successful states have grabbed various nitches; Florida (tourism, industry, aerospace etc), Nevada (Las Vegas casino's etc), California (Hollywood, Silicon Valley - home of Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Facebook etc... Nuff said). These states were built into the powerhouses that they are through the foresight of creative governors and county bosses who pulled the right plugs and pushed the right levers to enable their people, both financially, socially and intellectually. ...Here in Nigeria? Last I heard, our governors were engaged in a desperate search for how to get even more of the enslaving Abuja awuf per month. It is depressing. As far as I know, these are the working governors in Nigeria: 1. Akpabio 2. Okorotcha 3. Chime 4. Amaechi 5. Sule Lamido 6. Fashola 7. Oshiomole I think we might be adding Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa from the way things are going. 8 Likes |

They do not own power plants or transmission infrastructure, so GEJ might as well dash it out to those who have more sense and morals than the thieving lot that have been running the place. |
