Biggyd2: Nigerians love to blame others for their faults. The only reason why the youth are locked out of govt is that all an unfortunate and vocal majority of our youth know to do is scream id!otically. But screaming is a fools game that does not solve problems. What solves problem is the ability to focus, to methodically identify root causes (not mere symptoms) and the cool head to provide solutions and the leadership to achieve them. As for leadership, you do not ask for it. You organise and seize it. But tell me, where is the organisation in talking stup!dly and insulting others? How many of todays youth understand how the power levers in Nigeria operate? The number is close to zero. If a person does not know how their country operates, then their screamed words only amount to futile flapping. Ignorance is a disease and loudness is an id!ots game. I despair for the rabble I see around me, I have even heard some funny types on this thread talking about how their words bother the powers that be! I can only advice that those who are wise do not heed the words of those who utter such foolishness; their words are aimed at filling your mind with chaos and turning it into a tangled, woebegone spaghetti to be used and reused. But it has become so easy to fool todays youth, cos all they care about are BB's and Big Brother. It is this reckless outlook to the future that has locked them out of leadership positions, so our leaders keep getting older and and older, cycled and recycled; listen to how an overaged criminal like IBB justified his campaign ahead of the youth: Responding to a question on why he was not interested in younger politicians ruling the country, Babangida had responded thus, “Because we have seen signs that they are not capable of leading this country and so, we feel we should help them. May be they are not given the proper education, that is why. ...Yet, there were more than enough youth campaigning for IBB here on NL, on facebook and on twitter. We have a generation gone crazy. Well, Buhari is oiling his lungs for another puff at 2015. My words are hard (and I apologise), but they need to be said. 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Video: Explosive! John Fashanu Speaks On Sovereign National Conference, 2015 Etc by Beaf: 11:39pm On Aug 04, 2012 |
pDude: I am sure you are employing NURTW tactics on Fashanu, because he has painted the true picture of Nigeria in very civil terms. The man has increased my respect for him a hundredfold. He has put across highly intellectual arguments about why the country is the way it is and why people like El Rufai who have invested in the status quo, want the status quo to persist. Fashanu painted a picture of Nigeria that no awuf luv'n phuck or parasite will find comfortable, so the leather-headed parasites shout him down and throw stones. No surprises there. Those of you who are plagued with a desire to see the status quo persist, will always shout down the Fashanu's who see a national conference as the route to true federalism, an end to corruption and ethnic bigotry. They will always attempt to drown out the voices of true lovers of Nigeria with contrived chaos and beelzebubs babel. How can El Rufai want Nigeria to dialogue with boko haram, yet hate the idea of Nigerians dialoguing with themselves for a way forward in a national conference? That was a masterstroke from Fashanu. |

Oshiomhole made to many dramatic outbursts in the runup to the elections. The most ridiculous was the so-called assaination attempt against Oshiomhole himself, in which heavily armed assailants had supposedly erupted from the surrounding forest in an ambush that rained sustained volleys of bullets on his car. Only for it to turn out that it was merely angry students that rained stones on his convoy. Politicians need to learn to measure their utterances. |

@oyb Stop being a fool as usual and watch the video I posted. The words of the Ogun state govt and Ibafon LG officials should convince even those that are indecently dull. What have special schools in the federal govt colleges got to do with states inabilities to provide for their citizens? Or that the villages use the school as a toilet? You unfailingly come across as an unrepentant fool just to attack those who are mentally beyond you. Its not a pride, bro. 1 Like |

If the villagers see a school as fit only to be used as a toilet as is testified in this video, then the problem is actually societal. The students actually take turns to plead with the state govt to save them. The foolish LG boss whose duty it is to provide schools actually laments that it is a pity that there are so few schools in such a prominent place. What a fool! asha 80: let us be honest, this is quite prevalent in all the states of the country especially the rural areas.let us not blame acn in ogun for this amosun is only about a year old so let us give him sometime or the end of this tenure to judge. I have never seen such schools (except abandoned ones) even in rural areas. I agree though that the matter should not be over politicised. Why is it that Ogun state is always in the frame though? It points to a systemic failure in my opinion. Here's a vid on the same issue, the villagers actually use the school as a toilet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmzS9cPsuOY |

Kobojunkie: @Poster, you do realize it is a PUBLIC school and even though we have the local state board of education, that school is still under the Federal Ministry of Education in Nigeria? This is rich! Ignorance at its limits. Primary and secondary school education are firmly in the domain of LG's and states. Any politics commentator should be conversant with constitutional roles so they don't repeatedly make fools of themselves in public. Very soon, you'll call the FG to clean your arse too. I always preach that we should learn to queation our LG bosses and state governors, but obviously many of us think they were elected for the sole purpose of collecting monthly awuf. That awuf is only further shovelled into their personal accounts, only for the like of kobojunkie to scream at the FG. Its mass buffoonery at its peak. 7 Likes |

To put things in perspective, in Naira, Lagos states debt is 83,759,823,107.13. Lagos is owing 84 trillion Naira externally! Why? |
Politics / Re: Lagos, Kaduna, C’river, Ogun, Oyo Top Foreign Debtors’ List by Beaf: 5:50pm On Aug 04, 2012 |
dedeike: Lagos tops list of indebted states. Incredible. Yet they generate over 23 billion as IGR. They also collect an average of 10 billion as federal allocation. What do they do with all these money ? These are all pertinent questions that are desperately begging to be answered. What exactly is Lagos state $517,677,672 (half a billion dollars) in debt for? Lets not forget that all these debts are counted as part of Nigeria's external debt, because the country underwrites all states debts, since can can generate fuckall to repay their borrowings (payments are from withdrawals from monthly awuf allocations). Why should any state be half a billion in debt with nothing to show for it? |

GEJ's visit is actually seen a very massive event in the Caribbean. I've never seen people so happy and proud to be connected to the biggest African country. Its a big thing on the web and and everywhere. We need to recognise our position in the black World and use that as a powerful rallying pivot. GEJ did really well with that speech, luckily the Caribbean blacks are not as racially timid as many Nigerians are, so have taken a real confidence boost from that speech. 1 Like |

GEJ's pride in cassava and pursuit of emancipation for the black person on the World stage a merely different sides of a focused policy thrust that stems from his healthy inner beliefs. 1 Like |

Pataki: Really? When we preach the cassava industry to self haters like you, you are quick to turn up your noses in shame because cassava is "bush" and "local." Dude, stand aside, cos you have no credibility to discuss "local and indigenous industry." Such discussion require those with self-pride and self-confidence, not people like you with low self-esteem who think a well received statement by GEJ should be something to flagelate yourselves with, simply because you see yourself as of zero consequence and GEJ mentioned the "forbidden" word, black. Blacks of consequence rate GEJ's statement highly. |

doctokwus: People seem to miss d point:is dis trend of improved power supply so new or unique, have we not experienced dis same temporary mirage of improved supply wt Obasanjo& Yar'Adua's administrations?Yes we av.Another relevant point dat sycophants av conveniently glossed over whc has bn d argument of a poster is:how can there b a nationwide improvement when there has not bn an increase in power generation, talkless of an upgrade of d archaic distribution network.I don't see how its possible, just mayb a matter of giving some areas power, while depriving others. All in all,its better we watch over d nxt mth bc dis trend is nothing new& d maths just don't add up Make your argument without calling those who have observed improvements sycophants. Such behaviour is extremely distateful and betrays inner bitterness. If you had been an avid news follower, you would know that a few weeks back, it was announced that the DIPSS are beginning to come on stream, so your claim that generation has not increased is just a sad lie. Some even speculated 24/7 supply starting from this period (which is strectching it a bit). We are witnessing GEJ's handwork and it looks terrible when people call black white just to spite those they don't like for whatever reason. I'm sure "sycophants" will continue observing the very visibly improved power supply, cos its real and no amount of bitterness can change that. |

Paul John: @ DayoKanu GOD bless you, I watched that video it was like half of what it was in Osun State when the state was under PDP. Not sure if I'll be able to get the video. Dude, the truth is bitter. The entire World knows that NURTW is a major Tinubu tool, so I've only stated the obvious. This isn't ACN vs any other political party, but the plain truth. Some people have even gone as far as to say other states should follow Lagos example, but the observable fact is that NURTW only operates with near terrorist impunity in the ACN controlled states. They can't even nearly attempt such excesses in other places. If Fashola can pull it off, it would be a revolution, but NURTW belongs to Tinubu who also owns Fashola. Therefore, the announcement comes across as a joke. |
