ocelot2006:C'mon, changing of logo. I call it window dressing. Let's not go there my friend. Let me recount how everything became a batter during his tenure. Albarka airline had a batter arrangement and each time I found myself travelling official assignment, I'm told by airline that quota for the flight is exhausted. One day I asked who are the people in the aircraft that I had intended to travel with ? I was dismayed to find that they were all silverbed group staff. Need say, batter arrangement with albarka airline was to reserve a specified number seats for NTA staff on every local trip but it happens that silverbed staff enjoyed it most. |
Mordyb:What expansion are you referring to ? Yes 3 stations per state and we were supposed to have 108 of them. Stations without transmitters. Those who had couldn't transmit because of one issue or the other. Guy I was in that system and I just couldn't hide my disappointment. He and executive director finance purchased technical equipment for NTA. Ben is brilliant no doubt but he had his agenda. Stella Obasanjo was a blessing to him during his tenure. Many unscrupulous acts of his were well covered Too many things to talk about jare. Thomson broadcast vs JVC. All these are still fresh in my memory. |
arresa:As a former staff of NTA, I witnessed a lot. He got all the funds needed to revamp NTA but by the time he left, Silverbed became more popular. Silverbed galleria was also built and became fully operational. |
After 13 years in exile, the Federal Government of Nigeria under President Shehu Aliyu Usman Shagari granted an official pardon to Odumegwu-Ojukwu and opened the road for a triumphant return in 1982. The people of Nnewi gave him the now very famous chieftaincy title of Ikemba (Strength of the Nation, while the entire Igbo nation took to calling him Dikedioramma ("beloved hero of the masses" during his living arrangement in his family home in Nnewi, Anambra. His foray into politics was disappointing to many, who wanted him to stay above the fray. The ruling party, NPN, rigged him out of the senate seat, which was purportedly lost to a relatively little known state commissioner in then Governor Jim Nwobodo's cabinet called Dr. Edwin Onwudiwe. The second Republic was truncated on 31 December 1983 by Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, supported by General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida and Brigadier Sani Abacha. The junta proceeded to arrest and to keep Ojukwu in Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison, Lagos, alongside most prominent politicians of that era. Having never been charged with any crimes, he was unconditionally released from detention on 1 October 1984, alongside 249 other politicians of that era—former Ministers Adamu Ciroma and Maitama Sule were also on that batch of released politicians. In ordering his release, the Head of State, General Buhari said inter alia: "While we will not hesitate to send those found with cases to answer before the special military tribunal, no person will be kept in detention a-day longer than necessary if investigations have not so far incriminated him." (WEST AFRICA, 8 October 1984) |
Seldom comment on this platform but this got to me so much that I feel like encouraging you that your time is near, in fact very near. This is the moment to tell your MAKER to arise for you. Not that you have not been doing that but in the bitterness of heart tell Him and praise Him. Should you move in with your sister, please return very fast and play your wifely roles. You'll surely laugh last, longer and longest. |

Need no further description of someone who's truly demon possessed. |
Monsiuer Keshi just had himself crucified. He chose his team. He designed it just as he wanted. He must accept every flak from football loving Nigerians and leave the post with immediate effect. There's no reason even to continue as he's yet to sign a new contract. To me, walking away is the only reasonable thing to do. Apology? Not even necessary. A doomed dog will never heed the hunter's whistle. Let's thank him for the past and let him go. It's time to hire someone with sound knowledge of how football should be played. |

ijawkid: You knw wetin vision be at all??...Elijah was taken away by chariot of fire. Moses went to the hill top and nevr came back. Only knows what happened there. So where did the word "purgatory" come from ? Just like "Trinity", who manufactured the word "purgatory" ? I've combed my bible and I can't seem to find the usage of the two words. Please educate me. |
haibe: And as it is appointed vnto men once to die, but after this the judgement:Thank you sir. No comment from my side. The blind that has refused to see will continue to perpetually be in darkness. Beyond reading and citing quotes, it's necessary to receive revelation on this topic. God will always be right. Jesus is Lord. Enough of the veneration of some dead people. |
Billyonaire: Thanks, I am fan of creativity, visionary leadership and painful advancement in the right direction. I dare say the ban of Okada on select routes is one of those painful advancement decision that Lagos State had to make. We just need one City in Nigeria that can be comparable to the global cities of 21st century, and If Fashola is making that a reality with the Lagos MasterPlan restoration then he has my support. I know there are going to be casualties of this advancement. We have been witnesses of the mockery of Lagos State in the international media as a slum and Makoko water front was always used a case study by Christian Purefoy, then at the CNN, thank God we are spared that embarrassment due to his disengagement from the CNN. Back to Eko Masterplan, We clamour for alternative sources of income for the Okada people, but we are quick to forget that most Okada riders are illegal immigrants from our beloved neighboring countries. What the government needs to do is set up a Hire Purchase Transport Scheme for the Nigerian Okada riders who are affected by the ban. We should rather be talking about alternative transport system for the commuters from street to street. There is a case study at Calabar where taxi ply street by street, Lagos should adopt such strategy by introducing inter-street transit systems. The birth of a megacity does not come cheaply but I tell you Lagos govt has put the cart before the horse. Now you mention street by street transport among other things. The issues has to do with the highways where the roads are riddled with drum holes and consequently traffic is slowed. For a person living on the island, you not be privileged to see the chaos at various mainland bus stops. From Agbado to ijaiye to agege to ikeja all the way to oshodi. Ikorodu road, apapa road, okokomaiko, ajangbadi are places you'll see people sweat it out. The ban would have make sense if the roads are ok. Worse still when the community gathers to do something about the roads, somebody just shows up from alausa to frustrate the community effort claimimg that it's government responsibility. Yet no action from them. It seems to me that power of positive reasoning is lacking in our leaders. Ban them if you must but do the right things first. |

I don't know what to say about LASTMA. On my way to a wedding ceremony, apparently unsure if I was about to enter into a wrong way, I immediately pull over and beckoned to the LASTMA controlling Traffic. This happened at Oshodi. He directed me and I proceeded only for them to run after me and got me arrested for plying a wrong way. Is this what they are told to do ? Worst is their mannerism and tout like behaviour. Yet some people celebrate them. The battle line is drawn between me and them. I have my own plans. Again, I want to question the manner the police are going about enforcing this okada ban. Just at the exit of the opebi link road to oregun, I witnessed what could have resulted into the death of 3 people - the rider and two women. The police patrol van recklessly crushed the okada to the ground. Now the the rider was quick to get up and took to his heels. Nevertheless they went after him pointing their guns as if he were an armed robber. Would these same policemen chase a BOKO HARAM on the loose ? It was not sufficient that the rider left his bike for them to confiscate, they chased and chased . . . I didn't see the end of it because the traffic light signalled me to drive. The fate of the other women remained unclear to me. My question is, must you kill and maim to enforce this ban ? And talking about the roads, where are they ? May be death traps instead of roads. Yes the roads are many and mapped yet the navigator gets you confused by misleading you to go on pot holes ridden routes in which your judgment would probably have been better. We celebrate mediocrity too much jo. Eko o ni baaje but Eko to me don dey spoil. Ban them if you must but not kill them and fix the roads and I'll know you're up to something. Besides we don't need to glorify you for doing any good because that's what we elected you to do in the first place. "Aguda o je la be geesi, ise owo wa la wa nje - Orlando Owoh" |
Only if GEJ will be bold enough even if it means the last thing he'll do on earth to go after the aforementioned negotiators and get them arrested and let the battle go on. It's a battle Boko Haram can will never win. |
Idi-Amin:Only the true Idi-Amin(Dada) will do what you have just confessed. I thank everyone for saying no to you and yes to your wife. It's isn't proper oga Idi-Amin. |
