World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim today announced the appointment of Sandie Okoro as World Bank Group Senior Vice President and General Counsel.
Sandie Okoro is a highly regarded thought leader with a strong track record of developing new legal approaches in the field of international finance,” said Kim. “Her experience managing legal and financial risks at global financial institutions will make her a great asset for the Bank Group and our Board.”
Okoro is currently the Global General Counsel for HSBC Global Asset Management. She is also Deputy General Counsel of HSBC Retail Banking and Wealth Management and a member of the Executive Management Committee of HSBC Global Asset Management.

Before joining HSBC, Okoro was Global General Counsel at Barings. She has also been appointed to the Management Board and Panel of Experts of The Hague-based Panel of Recognized International Market Experts in Finance, which assists with the settlement of international disputes of complex financial transactions. Okoro played a leadership role during the financial crisis particularly in respect to the mitigation of counterparty risk exposure.
Okoro has received several accolades for her work and volunteer efforts. Most recently, in July 2016, she was named as one of the 100 Women to Watch by the Female FTSE Board. Sandie is named in The Powerlist 2019 as the fifth most influential and powerful black person in Britain. As World Bank Group Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Okoro will be the principal adviser and spokesperson on all legal matters. She will also serve as the legal adviser to the Board, management, the Inspection Panel, and the CEO of the Global Environmental Facility Program. SenseiVoyles:
I doubt SE margin would change much. Check the ward results from Anambra. Obi easily getting 90% of the votes in his home state yet turnout is barely 30% across the announced wards. This is even with the VP candidate coming from there. FWIW i can never figure out why people in the SE never come out to vote. Either general apathy or the registered voter numbers there are inflated.
And as for Lagos, I think it’ll be a narrow APC edge because of their strongholds like Alimosho etc.
Atiku might have a path but I can’t see it with the margins I’m seeing from the North. A lot depends on how large his victories in Delta, Rivers and Akwa Ibom are because it seems APC has effectively neutralised those places and would hit their 25% targets there at the minimum.
Tambuwal would have won this for PDP though and he didn’t have the corruption tag that dogged Atiku.
Don't worry you will see figures from Anambra and other eastern states soon grin
