Politics › Sowore Bemoans Lack Of Electricity, Good Roads In Buhari's Hometown by BeautifulMind2(op): 6:03pm On Nov 28, 2018
His words: “This is Daura, the hometown of the President, but as you can see the roads are terrible, there is no electricity, people are poor here, the street lights don’t work and people here have welcomed us as you can see.

Omyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has tasked Nigerians to vote based on competence and capability rather than on tribe, ethnicity or religion.
He made this known when he visited Daura in Katsina State on Sunday, as part of the SoworeRufai2019 campaign organisation's 100-city tour.

While in Daura, Sowore bemoaned the lack of infrastructure in the twon.

His words: “This is Daura, the hometown of the President, but as you can see the roads are terrible, there is no electricity, people are poor here, the street lights don’t work and people here have welcomed us as you can see.

"This is why Nigerians should vote capacity and competence, rather than ethnicity and religion. It doesn’t matter if the person is your own; if he cannot deliver, he cannot deliver."

He called on Nigerians to unite in their quest for good governance for the people, irrespective of the section, tribe or religion, in order for the country to move forward.

Sowore was accompanied on the visit by Dr. Rabiu Ahmed Rufai, the AAC vice-presidential candidate.

The 100-city tour, which kicked off on November 22, has so far reached Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Jigawa and Katsina states.

Somebody killed him and made it look like a suicide.

Why?

Unless he jumped from across the balcony with that flimsy cloth tied down his neck which would have snapped by sheer weight of his body or he used a chair or stool to hang himself.

Olaoye, a native of Igogo Ekiti, Moba Local Government area of the state, according to Babalola, came to her around 4.30pm on Tuesday and lamented the acute financial problems he had been encountering of recent.
Babalola added: “He came to me around 4.30pm on Tuesday and started lamenting that his house rent was due and that he could not pay due to irregular salary payment.
“He said he was also indebted to the government through housing and
car loans he obtained.
“He also complained about his inability to meet other financial commitments to his wife’s family. He told me he could go ahead and do something nasty. He told me clearly that he was tired of life.
“I tried to persuade him not to resort to anything nasty. I told him life is full of ups and downs and that he should just endure, but I never knew he would end this way.”

Nigeria was adjudged Africa's best economy in 2018 by Forbes.

In terms of growth rate, given the fact that Nigeria just exited recession, it makes sense we're not in the top ten in GDP growth rate.

"A major research firm, Forbes Africa has rated Nigeria as the 2018 best economy in Africa.

It published its findings on the ten biggest economies of Africa with Nigeria topping the list.

According to Forbes, Nigeria came on top with $172 billion which was followed by South Africa with $166.735 billion.

Also on the list was Egypt as third with $78 billion, Algeria with $66, Lybia :$65, Botswana: $22.675, Ghana :$20.458 Morroco :$18, Ivory Coast :$11 and Madagascar with $6.766 billion".

Politics › Eastern Railway Controversy: ‘you Can’t Be More Igbo Than I’ – Amaechi Dares by BeautifulMind2(op): 8:30pm On Nov 27, 2018
The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has dared the Senator representing Abia South senatorial district, Enyinnaya Abaribe, saying that the lawmaker “was not more of Igbo than himself”.
Apparently angered over his frequent invitation to appear before the Joint Senate Committee on Land Transport and Local and Foreign Debts on Tuesday, the angry minister said: “I have been hearing what Senator Abaribe has been saying over the eastern railway about me.
“Abaribe can’t be more Igbo than I. Most Igbo people cannot interpret Abaribe, but most Igbo understand and can interpret Amaechi.”
Immediately, Senator Obinna Ogba, a member of the committee, demanded that the minister retracts the statement, saying it was insulting to the Senate.
Ogba said the Senate least expected such uncomplimentary statement from the minister. After persuasion from some members of the committee, the minister withdrew the statement.
On the circumstances surrounding the eastern railway arrangement with General Electric, the minister explained that the company – General Electric – has folded.
He further revealed that the federal government has engaged Transnet Construction Company on a private public partnership arrangements.
“The Federal government’s eastern railway development arranged with the General Electric collapsed because the comp has folded, but it is not within me to explain what led to that.
“We have engaged another Chinese subsidiary firm, Transnet Construction Company on PPP arrangement,” the minister disclosed.
