Although I’ve never bought an apartment in Nigeria I built. If the flats are as good as you say and everything is above board. 435k is not too much. In order the maintain the standard of the flats this will cost money. You don’t want to buy the flat and a few years down the line due to lack of maintenance it goes down hill. If you convert that to pounds that’s roughly £1k which is the average annual service charge for a two bed in London.

Am just confused and being broke is not helping, I Can get a plot in this estate for 30m, and build a nice duplex but I no get money, lol

How can I run away from London and it’s small houses and then be squashed into a flat in Nigeria?

My sincere advice, developers' estates in lagos are scam. After buying houses, indirectly you are still paying rents.
With #90m you can buy land and build house within three months.
Trust me in future you won't enjoy paying all those charges.
There are good locations to buy lands around Ajah and Ikota, why going to in prison yourself?

I totally understand u but Megamound has created an exceptional environment for its residents. If I had the money I would say it’s worth it.

The problem I have is the estate maintainance fee, #435k for a serviced flat, while the duplex are charged 180k.

Am hoping someone who has bought an Appartment on the Lekki axis can shed more light on the issue.

Pls am thinking of buying a 3bedroom flat in Megamound estate Ukot a Lekki, where a 4bed duplex goes for about 90m, plots of land go for 90k psqmtr, the flat is going for 30m.

I personally love this estate, but can’t afford much there so am opting for a flat.

Now the dilemma is, the estate management fee is 435k per annum including insurance.

Which I think is too high. Can someone enlighten me of how these things are run?

I just need general advise on which way to go.

Please note that I spoke about taking a job/career/business that allows proper supervision and monitoring of your home and children. I never suggested that you should leave your child alone with a stranger.

Many working mothers these days, take their kids along with their maids to the creche or to the daycare centre close to their offices, while they are at work. They pop in at regular intervals, to ensure that the baby & nanny are ok. Others who have their businesses, make sure they convert a section of their shop or inner office to a playroom, where their maid and kids can stay, under their supervision.

My point is that taking care of kids can be combined with a job/career/business, if you are a woman. Many women have done it, and not all of them have sob stories to tell. You might do yourself a great disservice by staying at home as a full-time housewife, with nothing to show for it, except kids who would soon grow up and leave you behind, much later in life.

The sad thing is that by the time this happens, it may be difficult to get the kind of job you desire to fill the gap, and you might have remained stagnant career-wise and educationally, after spending years as a stay-at-home mum/full-time housewife. I have seen women who choose such options, and have ended up feeling inadequate, after making such choices. Anyway, it is your call. I wish you the best in your full-time housewife ministry.

The childminder/boyfriend saga didn’t happen to me , it happened in 2010, same year I had my daughter. Life is not a sprint, let everyone run theirs.

Looking after my is wat gives me sound sleep at night , all my businesses/activities are wrapped around my children’s schedule. That how I find my peace of mind.

We can’t be chasing after waters falls. Am contented with my lifestyle, I don’t want Louis Vuitton bags or red sole shoes or Hummer Jew or house in Banana island. My family runs smoothly on this route, so we gonna keep on it.

Madam, I pray your streak of good luck will not run out, as you continue your ministry of full-time housewife. Two of my female friends lost their husbands recently. One was married for 12 years, while the other was married for 9 years. Both of them were full-time housewives.

The first one has been unable to get a job, and has had to withdraw 2 out of the 3 kids from school, since there is no money. The 2nd one is busy battling in-laws over her late husband's property. Only God knows how the case will end.

Another female neighbour (who is totally unrelated to these two women) was just informed that her husband has suffered a stroke, so he cannot walk or earn a living until he recovers. Luckily, she works for a multinational organisation, and she has medical insurance which covers the entire family, unlike her husband that was self-employed.

The point is that you are better off having a job or career, that will put food on your table and funds in your bank account, so that you can have something to fall back on when challenges come up. Apart from that, any funds you earn will come in handy to help your husband the day his cash reserves run low. Having a job/career/business improves your mind, helps you to network and increases your appreciation and understanding of the different sides of life.

As for monitoring househelps, nannies and drivers - every sensible woman usually ensures she gets a job/career, that allows her ample time to monitor and supervise her children & her home. Even if you give your husband home-cooked meals, the day he decides to follow one 'soyoyo' to her house to eat her own version of home-cooked meals, I can bet that you would not be there. Women who end up weaving their whole lives around hubby, are the ones who end up with high-blood pressure, the day the man loses interest in the marriage, or decides to seek for a diversion outside the home.

As a housewife, staying with your children 24x7, does not guarantee that the day they go to stay in boarding house or university on their own for the first time, (without you hovering around them), they would not get carried away by the things they see or people they meet, and lose their heads. What matters most in a child's upbringing is quality time, and not quantity time.

I worked till till the year I had my daughter, it was the same a the boyfriend of a childminder was putting his penniss in a babies mouth to us as sucker.

No amount of money can make me leave my child to a stranger.

Stop comparing the abuse of a child with the wrong choices a young adult might make in university. Think of urself before ur 13th birthday and unwilling understand wat am trying to say.

Yes am a full time housewife.

It works for us.

U can throw ur kids to minders and nursery or even househelp that will be doing the unthinkable to them, We decided that our kids will be raise by us, drop off at school, get lunch ready before they come back, pick them up , feed them , take them to football or swimming lessons. Get dinner ready for hubby , prepare school and Hubbys things for tmrw.

If I didn’t this, nanny will be busy beating my kids for no just reason, the driver will be probably be fingering my 7yr old without my knowledge and the house girl will be using my sons dick to practice, my husband will be eating buka food and having dysentery every now and then.

And I won’t work till my last child is in secondary school, yet I can bet a million that am still financially better off than u.

The best education aside classroom you can give them. You will come to cherish those moments when empty nest time comes.

Yes ooo, when my kids play with my phone and find old pictures, they only get excited with the holiday pics, they will laugh and giggle about the activities they did there. They remember all the silly things I did and how I would chase them on the beaches . I realised that all I can leave with them . Old age has caught up with me think is time to slow down.
