Sophyrocks: Now this is scary. Such a Barbaric act that destroys our precious female reproductive system must be totally abolished. Can't understand why they still do it in this 2014. A law must be passed to make it punishable by law. angry angry angry
there is a law against it in the UK, a couple were arrested at d airport d other day . Apparently, they had gone home to circumcise their daughter. Someone tipped the police off and d police was at the airport for their arrival.

MrsAwesome: Depending on the level of scar or structures chopped off, it causes difficulty in second stage of labour like prolonged second stage, obstructed labour, some likely avoidable episiotomies, perineal & anal tear, and other complications.
It caused bilateral episiotomies for me which took time to heal.
I have heard dis before,

But can't get my head around it.

How can circumcision affect labour?

I have been thru labour 4times so am abit confused as it had nothing to do with the upper part of my *coughs*

Infact dats the only part that was spared or so I thought lipsrsealed

EfemenaXY: Ah!

That explains a lot then.

His congregation think like goats, act like goats, so he's just doing the natural thing by treating them (deservedly) like goats. He's just one step away from asking them to drink poison. Mind you, it's been done before. (Eccentric Jim Jones, Nov 18th, 1978. 900+ victims)

Föölishnėss of the highest order.
yea I think I remember that.

If y'all abroad gathered money, found and briefed a good hospital, I'm sure that the girl would have been receiving better health care now.

Sorry ooo if my post sound offensive but that's how I feel. May God ease the Lil girls pain. Amin
Not offensive atall

U dont understand the situation.

If ur loved one gets ill today, wat will u do?

go check ur bank balance or rush them to hospital before thinking about the money.

Twice she has had long stay In hospital including surgery in a private hospital was iy not paid for?

Tallesty1: I don't know about the one that was touching a woman's private. It could be a movie. I didn't watch the sex-video of the other woman because I don't watch sex-clips.

But this one is fake, the woman's hand cannot carry a man's wait without braking. His second leg don't seem to be placed on anything.
Ok.

U dnt know.

Tallesty1: The picture is not real.
I dont know if it is,

But I won't be surprised if its real.

Remember d video of dat warri pastor sleeping wit a woman dat was looking for a child, was dat real or fake?

How about women dat lie flat on the ground and the pastor place a hand on their private area to pray?

How about pastors bathing pple?

Are these all fake?

Just saw this picture on facebook and it got me thinking , what will u not do all in the name of deliverance? I have seen pics of pastors laying hands on pples head, some on the chest of women, on their waist, pubic area or in some situation even sleeping with their member all for deliverance.

So my question is where do u draw d line?

It can be frustrating.

aisha2: Na so. No talk too much because God forbid something happens it will be blamed on your "lack of faith". We really need to redefine our defination of religion here
Dats d problem o, they think am not religious enough.

i called them on saturday but i cudnt reach the mum so i called the younger sister,

she spent an hour on the fone telling to face prayers that its a spiritual battle.

telling me all sorts of events that has happened that convinced them that the illness was spiritual.

i just listened for as long as i cud, and said ok.

then i thot to my self, maybe dats why the mum didnt pick my calls, she didnt want to hear me goin on and on about hospitals.

aisha2: Bebe you have tried jare, as I always say I cant love you more than you love yourself, you cant love their daughter more than them. She is asking you oceans away to tell her where a hospital In her STATE is. If my child was ill, even if the hospital is in a cave I will find it
my sister,

i tire o,

if i was there, i will take the girl to my place. wateva happens after then, i will know i have done my best.

10 oclock dem dey church doing deliverance.

ignorance kills.

so fed up, i spoke wit the girl herself, she sounded quiet strong.

dat kind of gave me a little strenght even though i know she has big battles to fight.

aisha2: Truth is that you can give the money and it will get diverted to the pastor, believe me, I have seen this too many times. I cry and wonder why I seem more concerned than even the parents.
Forgive me for digressing this is not the case here but in my years of working in these settings I have seen too much, Some parents may even turn the child's illness into a money spinner, collecting money from different people yet doing nothing.

Was it not some years ago here on this nairaland, we saw a case of a boy with a growth on his mouth, raised money and it was given to me to send instead of sending directly to the account giving by the "Uncle". They said they were in UNTH, okay, I got in touch with the UNTH Officials the social welfare unit and we paid part of the money into the hospital account so the boy could be treated, believe me I didnt rest, i settle case tire, the mother would call and cry that all the money people were sending to the uncles account he diverted it to buy a car and rent a better house, I told her not to worry and concentrate on her son, one day she called lamenting and i asked which was more important the money or her sons health No answer. Later, I got a call from the social welfare unit that she had gone to make trouble asking them to refund "her Money" that she is taking the boy to a church while he was being treated oh, they said the money was in the hospital account and only for treatment, when I called her she started asking me if I didnt want her or her son to eat, i told her the money we donated was for treatment and not for feeding, the curses i got that day, hmmm. later she got someone to call me and pretend to be a welfare officer saying I should send money for drugs through his own account, I called their HOD and found there was no such welfare officer.

Another case was a girl with cancer, I visited the hospital paid the bills and gave the mother 15000 for drugs they may request, I also got enough food items and provisions, only to hear 2 days later that the girl had died, they needed 5000 for chemo which was highly subsidized and the mother said she didnt have, I was so mad and asked what she did with the money she said she paid her tithe that the tithe had been gathering and also sowed a seed she was owing, she didnt even seem to care, she had 6 other kids so I guess saving the life of one was not a priority.
just spoke wit the mum o,

she said she doesnt know anywhere in lagos, that the dad is coming from naifo this weekend to take her to his place.

that she is tired , so i said she shud take her to the military hospital first until the dad comes, she said she didnt know were it was, i said airport rd, she said, where for airport rd?

i just hung up and called my husband to come and talk to his sister.

am tired, am here on my owm looking after a family of six, i have an 80 yr old mum, have brothers, sisters necs om my side dat am worryig about not to tlk of my own kids. at least make dem move their a**

chaircover: The truth is that if there is no money, they cant take her anywhere
@bebe you can tell them a hundred things, but its really finance that they need to be able to follow up on those things

If you really want her to go to Reddington or any of the other hospitals that have been mentioned, you may need to send someone there to get a phone number/email details of one of the specialst doctors.

Speak to the specualist yourself and tell him/her that you are bringing your neice. Give him/her as much background as you can.

Ask them how much the initial fee that they require and obtain their bank details and pay it into the hospital account direct.

You will find that when that is done, your inlaws will take your neice there and treatment can commence.

Finance and mobilisation is what is needed.
I think more mobilisation than finance.
lets assume d parents are d poorest in the country, shud dat stop them frm going to hospital . There are some parents dat will be on tv and news papers begging for help by now if fund is d problem.

The first hospital she went for the operation we paid the admission, the second one same thing. The money doesn't bother me but their complacency gets my blood boiling.

Those two visit I almost lost my voice wit screams of take her to the hospital. Wen she was there I was always calling, wat did d doctor say? Is she eating? Is it getting better. No one eva picks d fone up to say this is wat is happening.

I decided to ask for fotos because I didnt feel like I was getting d full gist. Dat was wen it dawned me .

Called dis morning, they all in church. Why not use dat time to go to the hospital and let dem ask for so n so amount and then we know.

Make I go google d Reddington.

ifyalways: @Phema, what IF your diagnosis is wrong?

Well, your opinion which I can't fault but I won't fold my hand, waiting for death for such a young child, especially given the fact that she's not being to a "good doctor". If she must die, let it be in the arms of a good, competent doctor not e-diagnosis, trial and error approach by quacks etc. That's me though.

I dunno why but I'm just angry with the OP, her family and the way they went about this issue.

I won't give up on my loved ones, never. Not when they are alive and still breathing. I will fight and try. . . Yeah.
I totally understand ur anger.

Am angry too, but my anger is contained.

Lord knows, I have spent hours on the fone giving directions.

even the Ubth they took her to last time we almost quarreled about it. They kept saying " doctor say nothing dey" I have never been rude to anyone in that family but I found my self raising my voice and almost insulting my sis-in-law. Those pple believe pastors to a fault.

Am about to call but my heart is beating dnt kniw how to handle dis pple.

EfemenaXY: This is just so sad. Haunting. I keep going back to look at the pictures and each time I do, it stabs my heart. It really does.

Girl children are precious o! (not saying boys aren't) but as a mother, this is really affecting me. @Bebe2: pls answer baby124's question. What's the next step with the family. Have you taken up the suggestions about available good hospitals with specialists who aren't on strike?
I advise o, I dont knowvwat goes on wen I drop d fone.

dats the problem wit distance, am in the UK so cant neccessarily do the leg work my sef.

are there specialist hospitals dat are opened?

spoke to the mum yesterday, told her I suspect cancer. She screamed, I tried to calm her down and told her we shud be looking for a specialist in that area. But benin doesnt have gud private hospital ( personal opinion)

Am just praying they call of the strike in time, so they can go to specialist dis time.

am tired, its getting to a point were am too scared to call so I wont hear bad news.

havent called today.

Can the poor girl talk? Is she aware of what's happening around her? Have you been able to speak with her??

Blöödy bästärds.

I need to get off this thread. I feel my judgement getting clouded with emotion. This story sucks, I'm sorry to say. sad
my sister, cant take my mind of it. Called her several times wen she was in hospital and she cud talk properly.

I wish I didnt see those pics , I want to remember her the way she was wen I say her two years ago.

EfemenaXY: Before operating on her leg, what did the doctors say the issue(s) was/were?
exactly my question.

They did an x-ray and the doctor said they cant find anything on the leg.

But he want to operate to see.

so I heard o,

He opened it up and said there was nothing. Collected his money and discharged them.

there is no strong voice to challenge medical pple in her case, anything the doctors say is wat they follow.

And till now its same story. Doctor can't find anything hence they are treating it as an infection.
