anxious: My Niece had a j1 visa extension interview on 7/01/19 which was approved and told passport would be ready in 2-3 buisness days; Unfortunately, the passport is yet to be ready and the website is still indicating “Administrative Processing” til today. Last updated since the day of interview. No further documents were requested. I have sent emails to us-traveldocs and lagosNiv without success. Why is it taking this long? Has anyone gone through this. Where else can I contact? Wait for two days and send a gentle reminder. Thereafter drop a message on their Facebook page if still no response. Pls a call |

egbe12: egbe12: Been a silent follower on this thread and learning quietly from the gurus. Had my interview today at the abuja consulate and awaiting administrative process to verify my account statement. Below is my transcript.
Me: good morning Vo: morning how are you? Me: I'm good Vo: looking at my i20, I can see you are going to Texas state uni @ San Marcos for ur MSC in ***** Me: yeah Vo: how did you learn about Texas state uni? Me: a prof at uni***** where I had my undergraduate studies referred me Vo: okay, when did he get his PhD from there? Me: 3years ago Vo: when did you get your bsc? Me: graduated in 2015 Vo: what have you been doing since then? Me: I worked with xyz company then got another job later in Jan 2018 with xyz as an admin staff. Vo: who's paying for your tuition? Me: my aunt, and I stated her name. Vo: the account you've got here shows a November balance, I'd prefer it was printed in DEC Me: I got her to provide it cos she was about travelling and I was hoping to get an earlier date Vo: okay, I'll like you to get the most recent account statement at least showing her December balance * then she brings out the yellow paper for admin processing. As she was about passing it to me, she asked if I was aware I would be banned if I presented any fake documents. Me: yes ma'am Then she handed me the papers and wished me best of luck. I live in Lagos but now in abj for my interview. Hope to get the whole stuff settled by Thursday or Fri then sit down and sip on some juice as I watch God finish his work. I know it'll be positive School resumes on the 22nd of Jan though, I hope to get an extension to make proper arrangements.
Big thanks to the nairaland family, dollypizzle and Velly my brothers. Wishing all others awaiting interview success.
Visa issued this morning congratulations |

wintabotom: Please clarify why my profile looks desperate. I had a b1 b2 which just expired. I re apllied for the f1 cos school was resuming 1st week jan. Also am not interested in schooling in the usa again. Truth is i am already trying other options for my masters.
If the us visa denial wld not affect my getting a canada visiting visa. Honestly i dont need it.
I have 2 yrs uk visa currently and travel history to the usa. If this wont affect my visiting visa to canada i wont even bother with then for now. Also i would soon be resuming at new school am doing my masters since i couldnt get their visa for now stay off and don't apply immediately even if you have visa to 20 countries. It would have been better if you renewed your b1b2 before student visa as it will have been issued to you there after you can apply and be issued student visa. Visit other countries but you can reapply later. |

In your own interest don't try it. Your profile looks desperate which you state you are not as you are willing to convince the VO. However, will that opportunity present itself. Please hold on till fall 2019 and reapply for student visa not b1/b2 visa. wintabotom: Please i need advise. I got denied F1 visa on the 18th of Dec last year. The interview was going well until the VO asked for my english proficiency test. Told him i had 7 in ielts although i had a waiver from the school due to the fact that my bSc was done in english language. Unfortunately he asked for the evidence of all the english proficiency test i told him i didnt have it with me. As a result i was denied. I tried again on the 2nd of January this year the VO asked me what has changed explained to her that i have the english results and letter from d school. Madam just asked me names of the school i had applied to told her the 3 school. She asked y i chose the school told her all the story of being the best school for my course public admin. Told her they are highly ranked generally blah blah. Anyways she denied me. The issue now is i need to renew my b1 b2 visa which expired in dec 2018. I don't want to school in the USA again. Please advise me should i go ahead and apply mid year for vacation or just forget them for this year. Reason is i need to also get a visiting visa to Canada and i hear usa refusal sometimes affect them. Hence the reason for wanting to get a b1 b2 renewal. I would do my masters in Lagos maybe. Please note i didnt have any issues with funding at all at d interview |

I cant give your more than 20 reasons of why you should go.. When you see a. Oil firm workers earning average of 1.8 - 3m naira monthly have relocated to other countries and are regreting why they did not relocate early than this. An entire unit of an Oil service firm just relocated to Canada on an individual basis. b. Bankers of reputable firms with enough bonus have relocated and more are still relocating. c. No law maker worth his salt has his entire family here in Nigeria.... If they are here they already have secured citizenship of other countries, are in the process or have settled their children over their. Please if in doubt check out your local representative at your state assembly or national assembly. where are his or her family especially children... Even your local Agbero Nurtw leaders/chapter chairmen are relocating or relocated their families either through education to USA and France.
Do you still need the reasons...
In other veins, you can stay back in Nigeria especially now that your village people have your attention.
Dont blame yourself in 20 years time if your kids eventually ask you why did you stay back in a so called developing economy rather than a developed economy. Ofcourse you will be able to explain to them why you prefer to be citizen of a 3rd world country rather than a 1st world country... |

[quote author=QUEENBIZ post=73739956]You can try Rommy Guest Inn Plot 39, Lagos Crescent, Garki 2, Abuja. It’s 5k for an economy room on negotiation and it’s #300 to the embassy on negotiation as well. You can spend #300 as well for Taxi from the Airport to the hotel if you are on budget. East or west ..home is home quote author=Biguyman post=73354675] There are only two states in Nigeria. Enugu and the rest If you not from enugu then you are a waste South East is the minority but they keep leading in everything, Football, education, business, Fashion, most beautiful girl in Nigeria, Basketball etc Especially all these afonja people from ibadan, osun and the rest craps Upon the thousands of souls in ibadan and yoruba land they still can't produce a good state football team or a Beautiful girl to stand out. Uglymugg: Don't be hard on that girl. I thought we Christians know better? She could genuinely need help. I've met someone like her that had only a mom and a deadbeat dad who disappeared. The mom also left her in the country and flew off, but sends her money when she can. There're a lot of messed up things happening today. Even if she offered sex, she's just being plain about it (which might have been too much) but let's be real here, there aren't much people who will help a girl and not demand anything in return; this is Nigeria afterall. exactly my thought too as expressed in the other thread |
