Let's be sincere to ourselves regardless of tribes or sentiments, an average Nigerian don't deserve good life. Yes you read correctly. Going through comments not only here but other social media sites has made me realized that the politicians are not the illiterates but the citizens. If a highly ranked senator who claim to be a graduate can't provide his original certificate after 16years of "graduation", lied about studying abroad and from his supposed SOR failed the course he later gained admission, can get away with all the evidence provided, worse still has massive supporters from the youth, then I am truly sorry for the nation "Nigeria". This is just one and I can bet my soul that many more are without education in that chamber.
In all said and seen in this country, an average Nigerian don't deserve good road, quality medical system, constant power, or a better standard of living because we are the fuel that flame the ego of these useless politicians.
Dino is an insult to true graduate worldwide as he's just fortunate to be born in a rotten system.

I know people who wont sleep today. People like Omenkalives, Sarrki and Dropshot. That was how many of us couldnt sleep when we heard that the Igbo lawyer who sued Buhari for not having SSCE, sudenly dropped the case while you guys where jubilliating and calling us wailers. U see, its very possible Dino never graduated but people like him and tout Fayose and thug Wike and thief Sarraki will keep remaining heroes in this administration until yoruba muslims and northerners finally say the truth about Buhari which is that Buhari has failed Nigeria. Nothing has turned out to be special about his government.

You are not the smartest guy on this forum and u keep finding innovative ways to show it. Your brand of patriotism is the one that sees nothing wrong that Buhari has no certificate and cant write to cambridge to release his scores; but sees everything wrong when Dino Melaye does same. You hate a thief when he is pdp and like him when he is APC. Sarrki, shame on u sir.

khadaffi:
Una wan use me type this morning. Senator Ike Ekweremadu suggested the best form of policing system when he was deputy under David Mark. I hope that is what this bill is about but if it is to REVERSE to state police, I will quickly give you an assignment that will help me answer you quickly so I don't type much.

Before this central policing we practice today, Nigeria once operated a state police. Why did we switch to this type of policing system? What were the problems that made us change to this type of system? After immediately changing to the central policing system, did it solve the problems we encountered then? The problems we encountered then, are they still the same now? Considering the fact that Nigeria have practiced state police before, so its not new to us, how do we intend to combat the problem that goes with it?

On why I said its the south east that should kick against it. The police is the only govt agency that charges criminals to court. It is no longer news that some northern states are practicing sharia law. If they are empowered with a state police, some of our south eastern guys will be tried according to this law. Don't forget that after a criminal is arrested, it is the police that prepares the individual to be taken to court. The south east should be worried about this because there are many things they do that are not tolerated in sharia, an example is drinking alcohol.
Won't argue but if we want to practice federalism, we should give real autonomy to States and L.Gs. Otherwise, we should stop answering FRN.

sad Restructuring is not the solution but the present status quo. Restructuring is a cunny attempt by easterners to achieve biafra and it won't happen. History tells us Ojukwu was able to instigate the civil war because he was the head of Eastern region. If we go back to regionalism, non-entities like Nnamdi kanu will rise again and start pushing for biafra which is a bad omen for Nigeria. No part of the country must be allowed to split for no reason. Lord Luggard was an intellectual when he merged us together. There is strength in unity. Let's keep maintaining the present federal system till the Igbo's are patriotic enough to forget biafra sad

FFK is the real man. How i wish this man is Igbo. Courageous and bold in the face of murderers and killers. He said the truth that slavish mindset and shameless sentiment has brought much suffering to the people of the south-west and south-south and indeed to the people of the SE.
He is correct that slavish and and shameless sentiment was one of the reasons why the people of the south-west and south-south made the wrong choice about which side to fight on during the civil war, and that they must not repeat the same naivety again in the case of another civil war in Nigeria.

The trait of naivety, slavish and and shameless sentiment is what have been exhibited by the people of South South and South West which have only resulted in keep Nigeria ONE up till date with no clear future. How i wish FFK and Fayose are Igbo to compliment with the fearless ones we already have.

When the Europeans came to the north they met a literate society with a well established system of political and judicial administration in contrast to what they have met in the south especially the primitive igbo who have never had any sort of centralized government. Can't you ask yourself why they are more comfortable with North rather than the south who they brought their religion to and are practicing it? They prefer the North because an average northerner is more enlightenment and more trustworthy.

Christian leaders should stop playing the ostrich like GEJ, they should take their complaints directly to the US media. The election is a good time to complain about Kerry, Obama, and Hillary Clinton
I personally support Trump. Obama may have done well for America but I believe his foreign policies are what gave rise to global terrorism. Under George Bush, it was only localised (mainly al queda and taliban) now we have both plus Isis, al shabab, boko aram, muslim brotherood and a lot more. If a christian group decides to spring somewhere in d South and start fightin buaris's administration based on this very bias visit now people will be wondering.
Christianity Etc › Re: Visit To Sultan; CAN Accuses Kerry Of Bias (premium Times) by Bede2u(op):
I think the CAN leader has a point. The foremost Ambassador of U.S in the world should be seen to be fair. If Nigeria is a country and if its unity is non-negotiable as people claim, then why visit only the north? Why meet only northern leaders? Why meet only muslim leaders? Why not meet all governors? Why not meet a coallition of christian and muslim leaders? I read before in a history book that Lord Lugard felt 'more comfortable with the leaders of northern Nigerian than with the more suffisticated/learned tribes in the south'. When queen elizaberth came to nigeria in 1958 she only visited the north. With this visit, modern u.s has shown again that this remains there policy as far as nigeria is concerned; to protect northern interests first.

Christianity Etc › Visit To Sultan; CAN Accuses Kerry Of Bias (premium Times) by Bede2u(op): 11:30pm On Aug 25, 2016
The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has accused the United States government of stoking ethnic and religious divisions in Nigeria, after the U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, visited the Sultan of Sokoto and northern governors.
The group said Christians were excluded from Mr. Kerry’s visit between Monday and Tuesday.
Mr. Kerry travelled to Sokoto where he met the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, who is the head of Nigeria’s Muslim community. He later met President Muhammadu Buhari, before meeting governors of northern states.
In an interview with journalists on Thursday, CAN said Mr. Kerry’s visit was “discriminatory, personal and divisive”.
The group said Mr. Kerry should stop interfering in the internal affairs of the country, alleging that the visit was aimed at furthering the federal government’s plan to continue to persecute the teeming population of Nigerian Christians.
The president of CAN, Rev. Supo Ayokunle, said Mr. Kerry’s “lack of respect for the heterogeneous nature of Nigeria, amounted to favouring northern Nigeria and Muslims to the detriment of the Christian community”.
He said the disposition of the Secretary of States supported claims that the Barack Obama administration openly supported the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2016 general elections, which produced the current leadership of the country.
“Why did he meet with 19 states governors, without southern governors, is Nigeria the north alone, why did you go to the north alone?” he asked.
“There’s a siege on Christians. Kerry, his actions speak volume, his actions, body language were very divisive.

“If US Secretary of States is coming for official visit, it’s understandable, but we demand explanation why he was selective. Has the sultan palace become another state house? Was Kerry invited by the Sultan?
“We have 36 States in Nigeria; he only selected northern governors to meet with them. It was a visit to the north, not to Nigeria. It was surely a very divisive visit. With the visit to the north, Kerry’s visit has heightened fear and tension among Christians in Nigeria, if they cannot bring us together, they should not interfere in our affairs.”
Speaking against the killing of Christians in northern Nigeria, the CAN president said based “on the government’s selective persecution of Christians mostly by the Department of State Service (DSS) and the Nigerian Police, it was obvious the administration was anti-Christians”.
“Have the DSS arrested the Muslim youths who burnt down a Catholic Church in Niger State because they were worshiping on Friday? What happened to the ECWA Pastor who was killed in his farm in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State? What have happened with Redeemed Preacher who was murdered in Kubwa, Abuja?
“Look at the recent case in Zamfara State, Christians where burnt alive. What has happened? They will tell you, they are still investigating. Have they been arrested and charged them to court? If the government cannot sit up and protect Christians, tolerance is going to break down, they should do the right thing, they should not provoke Christians. Have we ever seen this government bring anybody to book?”
The CAN president tasked President Buhari “to come out clean”, adding that, “a government that doesn’t listen is not for the people.”
The CAN leader called on the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to as a matter of urgency intervene in the case of Joe Chinakwe who was arrested for naming his dog “Buhari”. He argued that, naming an animal with somebody’s name is never a criminal offence.
“The NBA should take up that case and ascertain whether the man has the right to give any name to a dog. They should come and protect the man’s human rights and set the record why the case is not a criminal offence,” Mr. Ayokunle said.

Politics › Ending The Bad Blood Between Yorubas And Igbos by Femi Aribisala by Bede2u(op): 4:53pm On Aug 22, 2016
Yoruba and the Igbo can form an alliance. That eventuality is not implausible especially because they actually have common progressive interests.
Both groups prefer a Nigeria that practices fiscal federalism. Both want a country with a weaker centre. Both want a Nigeria that rewards merit, with a state-structure based on resource-control.
Both groups want a Nigeria committed to self-determination. These are grounds for cooperation as opposed to discord.
If the North is not to continue to take the South for granted, it must not be allowed to continue to operate in the confidence that the East and the West will always be divided and quarrelling over silly issues.
In politics, there are no permanent enemies and no permanent allies. Fifty years down the road, the politics of the Nigerian Civil War should not be allowed to continue to cast a shadow over Yoruba-Ndigbo relations.
In the Second World War, Germany was the arch-enemy of France, but now both countries are the staunchest allies.
Japan invaded the United States; but now both are on the same side. These turnarounds can and should be duplicated in Southern Nigeria.
As a first step, there is need for a grand gesture. A well-publicised meeting between the Afenifere and the Ohaneze, where declaratory statements should be made about burying the hatchet.
Thereafter, standing committees should be established to deal with flashpoints; such as the dismantling of Oshodi market in Lagos.
The cold hatred between the Yoruba and Ndigbo has gone on for far too long.
Let there be love shared!

you don't get the pun. Read about General Afonja who betrayed fellow yorubas in Ilorin and teamed up with the Fulani minority in order to install an emir in ilorin. After the Fulanis used him, they had him assassinated. The idea of calling Yorubas "Afonja" is that Yorubas have started again romancing with d not-to-be-trusted fulanis to beytray a southern president. But dat the Fulani may turn around to betray them later.
