@michelin89 Ma, please coherently and concisely express to me the truth you believe to be the thesis of contributions here. I will really appreciate some primary school simplicity for my olodo head. ![]() |
@THE.AMAKA you are probably right. I don't think I have swag, although most of my colleagues think I do. And as for the look in the mirror part, funny enough, I do too frequently, and trust me, more often than not, I LOVE what I see. I will never give up my slender, boyish, local looks to be any other man in the world. My presumption is that most you ladies here find it hard to be believe that I am so comfortable in my own skin. And maybe it was probably wrong to generalize 9ja babes as worwor. It was a slight of the mouth-and I have those quite often. ![]() But that does not derail from the point that I have not been GENUINELY attracted to any 9ja girl's person since I came here I guess we can say "person" includes such stuff as brains, beauty, personality, charm etc. (The whole package, if you get the idea). I do not think I am asking for WAY too much. |
@SEFAGO I guess that is how things are on nairaland. But I came here looking for honest and insightful responses to my issue. I guess I will leave with mixed feelings, but not yet! |
@michelin89 You seem to find it very hard to get it into your apparently very thick coconut of a skull that I would not sit here and defend my intellectuality to you. I have not claimed to be an intellectual. Neither have I claimed to be smart or to be a sage. So you can call me fool if it "tickles your fancy." But even if I am not as insightful as I would love to think I am, that does not preclude me from searching for people with "a little perspective and insight into serious issues" - a category you apparently do not fit into, despite your best effort to convince yourself and gullible nairalanders otherwise. |
Its funny how 9ja babes like chiogo can easily get on the defensive and play the feminist card whenever they see a topic like this. If you think a little deeply about the course the thread has thread (no pun intended), you will see that the title is misleading, and the crux of the matter is a dearth, in my area, of girls like back home. Except this time, I will appreciate a little perspective and insight into issues along with the nigerianness and attractiveness. I know normally a girl does not have to be attractive to be a person's friend, but I must pay due cognizance to my own reality as I consider this issue. And my reality is that being shy person, i come out of my shell for guys who have similar tastes to me like love for soccer, a little perspective and insight into serious issues, a good vision for a good life and a good career etc. Since very few girls like soccer, or discuss serious issues -without letting them degenerate into gossips and carping-I will usually overcome my shyness for an attractive girl, with a tinge of "localness" and a a little perspective and insight into serious issues. I have mentioned "a little perspective and insight into serious issues" 3 times. That should tell someone that is as much a priority as physical beauty. |
@michelin89 Interesting angle to the discussion. But I have never thought about that. Oh yes, I get it. The reason I haven't thought about it is that I have not seen the beautiful and intelligent babes to begin with. |
@platinumk I think it was platinumnk that was advising you to go for 9ja Youth Confrences in Summer.Whats up with the conference na? |
@SEFAGo lol. you should have highlighted the "friend" part instead. Me just dey my culture mostly. True talk, fine girls even for OAU, dey go the biggest guys, like yahoo-yahoo and politicians. Me I know my level so I no dey fin Halle-berry. Of which I never hammer like that and I was never really into toasting paroles, so I no get right to dey shako for any girl. But then, the worworbility dey too much for this area. By worwor, I don't mean ugly; rather I mean I find such people unattractive. If na fine girl i dey find, hanhan, haba, akata plenty yafun-yafun. But I want omo ijinle wey I fit flow with, both male and female, wey go make me quick-quick forget the good ole days in Greatest Ife. |
LOL @ chiogo @chiogo You are silly if you think I will try to defend myself intellectuality-wise to you. And has for the shyness, lets just say "Its a work in progress." I am slowly getting over it. Thanks for the compliment, but then, I am not sure I really need them-I know my place. |
@londoner It is not anti-nigerian women. I am simply stating the observation of a particular person who has particular character traits and who resideds in a particular geographic region. @michellin1982 I am sorry for you. I am not the average nairalander that needs attention or sex or whatever it is dimwits like you look for here. So, take me serious if you want. But be sure your opinion is worth as much, or much less, than every other person's. So if you don't take me serious, I guess I can't help your slowpokish backside. Shior! |
@fifi09, platinumk, lodoner I don hear una. It seems that I have not done enough to mingle with the nigerian community in the states. And that is not hard to swallow since I am a rather shy person. But the truth is, until I am ready for a gf, I will settle for any babe/guy that is nigerian enough and somewhat intellectual for a friend. Unfortuantely I am yet to see much. So that leaves me constantly reminded of the poor job I have done at adapting to America. And I don't have high standards. I just want something close to what I used to get back home. @fifi09 What conference are you talking about? |
@ OLD-MAMA-YOUNGIES like chiogo, michellin etc I reiterated ceaselessly yesterday that I am not Will Smith or Denzel Washington and I am not ashamed of myself. Please if you do not have meaningful contributions to make like Princek12, SEFAGO and fifi09, carry your lame backside off my thread. I have no patience for nairaland demi-gods who believe they can dictate to me what I look like, what I can say and the judgement I can pass on my surroundings. Lets just say "A new sheriff is in town." And pray tell, why are all these feminists emphasizing the beauty part while conveniently ignoring the brains part. I guess is because you have conceded that the average 9ja babe like you has nothing in between her ears. |
Too much to count: 1. Insufficient insight and thoughtful opinions on issues 2. Imeliness 3. Deti 4. Pompous "I am better than you" attitude towards people around her etc |
@OP no mind awoofcocoa I can certainly identify with your story and I am a guy. But there is no basis to say this is the situation with all guys. Ladies do not seem to understand that the average man has greater sexual urges than the average lady and if you give a guy an inch, he will take a mile. And why can't some ladies just get physical without emotions? Must a guy always have to carry emotional baggage because he wants some sexual satisfaction? |
RE: I Seriously Dislike Fl Gator, Busybodi, Michelin89 And Davidylan When They Post! Since the initial thread by EshuKemi was locked, I decided to create an offshoot in a new thread. The OP may not have gone about the thread in the right manner, but he certainly has valid points. It is sickening to see the glorification some folks get here for being nothing more than dimwitted fanatics with acerbic tongues and warped logic. I would love to think that intellectuals that contribute something worthwhile should be regarded instead. Unfortunately, the reality in NL is that intellectual mediocrity reigns supreme, and its chief paragons definitely have many minions and attack-dogs ready to tear into "deviants" like me who dare to point out the appalling state of affairs. So, why is intellectual mediocrity disguised with vituperations glorified and supported on NL? Is this the best that Nigerians' can come up with? |
@micktosin Why you dey pour sand-sand for the Op garri na? ![]() |
@1tomilola I think I am looking in the wrong place. Are you in Baltimore? Or go you know where I can find Nigerians in Baltimore? @londoner Its kind of hard to widen one's net when one depends on the Baltimore transport system to move around. |
@just1 I did not finish there. But I spent most of my secondary school life there. @1tomilola I am in Baltimore, but I am more likely to see a beautiful akata girl. In fact, I am yet to see a beautiful 9ja babe in Baltimore. The ones I have seen are from out-of-state. |
Flavor Flav is definitely ridiculous. He should have heard about the word "retire." ![]() |
I don't see the reason for the yabis, but I am up to it. Ei ti kpo to. E lo kpo si wa. Ma se were iyalaya everybody yin. Ei ti ri n kankan. Pic with people with brains uploaded. |
I dont have to be fine enough to call someone worwor. Just as I don't have to be Albert Einstein to know that you are a slowpoke and dimwit of unrivalled stupidity. Shio. And I am not searching. |
@FL Gators HOw long will it take to drill into your the thick ball of wood you call a brain that I am not positioning myself as someone extraordinary. I am only saying to you wimps that I am not ashamed of myself. |
Ijinle picture updated. Mo shin meye bo lapo! |

So THE.AMAKA, you have finally gathered the liver to come back. Please take your off-topic conversations off my thread. Your lack of etiquette is not really surprising. And I am not pot calling kettle black because I never claimed to be Mr. handsome. I guess guilt con-co is worrying you. And for those still desirous of seeing my picture, it should be up in a minute. |
