Thanks all. I am glad I could get valuable advice from folks like SEFAGO. As for the pic, I put it up for the purpose of this thread and will put it up again if it is necessary.

I think you have good intentions but you're going about it the wrong way. Calling people worwor or olodo isn't the right way to do it though.

I agree with you that it is not normal. But I am kind of shy and historically, what helps me overcome my shyness is someone that really has many things in common with me or a fine babe. Its kind of psycho, I know, but its my reality. So, I will be able to ignore a babe's worworness is she like the things i like like soccer, intellectually stimulating discussions etc. If not, she has to make up for it by having a wonderful personality, and that includes being beautiful. I hope I dont come across as putting myself on a pedestal or feeling too big. For I am not like that. I am just frustrated at been thrown in the deep end with akatas that have nothing in common with me, while I can only look back at OAU with nostalgia. I am kind of fickle too. So don' t be surprised if tomorrow you hear that I am searching for a girlfriend ( I operate based on what makes sense to me at the present).

The funny thing is that I am actually actively avoiding girls. I have all these akata girls throwing themselves at me and I am like "she e mi no re." I am not one to praise myself but that is the reality I have faced since coming to America. So, I kinda do not need the "face you studies" advice, since I have imbibed that principle for the better part of my existence (But I still appreciate the advice though )

I not looking for a girlfriend per se. I will just a an attractive and intellectual lady with 9ja flavor as a friend. And that is scarce where I am.

I think you have problems with a guy who is blunt, who is not seeking your approval, who is self-confident, and who is not your average nairaland dimwit.

I am not looking for Halle Berry or Beyonce, and I do not need anyone to tell me that I am not Denzel Washington either. I give myself a 6 out of 10 and I want girl between 7-8 who has something between her ears. I know I am not worwor so I am ok with putting up my pic. Pray tell, why will you criticize if you cant do the same. I took that picture years ago when I was still in OAU. So you are right. I kinda look different now. Funny enough, when I took the picture, it was my best and I always put it at the top of the album so people can notice that first. But I am not too much into this dress up stuff. The emphasis for me is on the intellect. Fine girls plenty, na wife material no dey.   I guess I will have to step up when I am ready to search for girls, but again I have never been the best at dressing up. I am more likely to listen to you instead of folks like THE.AMAKA and stillwater who were waiting to pounce.

I am sorry for you. I have not claimed to be an intellectual and there is no reason to believe those 9ja babes in ivy-league schools will be justified in not seeing me as an intellectual either. I am tempted to agree with you here. Perhaps I will have to go to the top schools and posh neighborhoods to even have a chance of getting a 9ja girl with beauty and brains (I am sure there are very few of this specie on earth). But then, I also think when I find this specie in this special areas, they will be Behind, upper-class girls who will only want to relate with their fellow ivy-league 9ja guys. That brings me back to square one. They will also probably think I am not Behind, exposed, intellectual, and aesthetically pleasing enough for their high class standards.

And I am not one of those to brag about achievements [My mother did not teach me that way]. But I am not in shomolu. And for fuch sake, what the Bleep is okada petrol?
