Education / How Do You Overcome The Guilt From Cheating by beejaei: 3:55pm On Dec 08, 2011
Ok, I am well above average in academic capability. But from time to time I cheat because I am too lazy to study for subjects I do not like. I am not just lazy, I just doubt my ability in those areas. So for example, I will study for all my math and programming classes, but I have problems when a course is all about memorizing definitions. I was caught yesterday. But that is not the problem. I am less concerned about the consequences of being caught than by the huge guilt that is burning inside me. I feel like a fake. I am well regarded in my school (maybe even overrated) as a very smart person. I feel like I am taking everyone for a ride. I am also trying to get into graduate school. If I get in, how do I not live forever with the guilt of knowing my success was not purely earned? Has someone been in this situation before? How can I get out?

I have been on this forum for a fairly long time, so I know how people behave. People with insecurities just come here to make themselves feel better by convincing themselves that something is wrong with others. And I always come prepared, fire for fire, oloshi people
Romance / Re: So Why Do Girls Run From Moi? by beejaei: 11:22pm On Oct 07, 2011
Nairaland is funny ooh. Too many people have insecurities. I came seeking for advice, and the insecure ones are augmenting their fragile self-esteem by lobbing cheap shots at me. I am this the internet. If this was real life, I will be in jail for shooting all you modaphockers.

@ekt_bear

Thanks for the advice. I was really clownish. Like they were all just giggling at me, and I was feeling funky, not knowing I was being mocked.

@Ileke-Idi

You are an ediot and oloshi par excellence

And yes, that is how I dance in clubs.

See trouble oohh

Okay, I am not ugly; i do not have body odor; and my mouth does not stink.

NOw that we have cleared that up

I really enjoy dancing (do not know how good I am at it, but i enjoy it).

I really don't think I can do the whole go slow thing.

I am yoruba and we shake our body very well when we dance.

At the club, the bar is downstairs, so i have no chance of inviting a girl for a drink.

Romance / So Why Do Girls Run From Moi? by beejaei: 10:05pm On Oct 03, 2011
So I am based in dc and I have gone to clubs with a predominantly nigerian crowd twice. I have also partied with people from all over the US (minus african americans), and they all said I was a good dancer. However, when I am at cubs with Nigerian girls, they avoid dancing with me. Usually I go to the girls just standing or dancing with other girls and begin to dance vigorously/seriously to convince them to dance with me. Almost every time, they will have this mischevious/mocking/affirming smile on their face as they watch me, then they begin to dance,too. The problem is that without fail, all of these girls then excuse themselves or tell me to excuse them after 2-3 minutes of dancing. I do not understand. Some people have suggested that it is either that I dance poorly or too vigorously. Someone please tell me about the etiquette of clubbing,

You must be a foreign grad then Grin
Well, if I was insecure about anything, I wouldn't put my personal story out here for public consumption, would I?
Those demons I have faced long long ago, and those issues are somewhat past me. If you had said this maybe six, seven years ago, that could have been something for me to think about. These days i am just being frank.

grin grin grin

No, I am not a foreign grad, but I have observed your zeal in reminding foreign grads about all the wack ones you have met who are not up to scratch. Putting those posts and the one on this thread together lead to my conclusion. Maybe you have overcome inferiority, or maybe there are still remnants of it. Nevertheless you seem to have done well for yourself, and you are quite useful on this forum. So kudos to you.
