I don't believe Tinubu can Islamize anyone. I don't even believe anyone can Islamize Nigeria. What I think is wrong is to flippantly dismiss the fears of those who are speaking out against a Muslim-Muslim ticket. Our realities are different. A Southern Kaduna Nigerian who has seen deaths and destruction caused by Muslim fundamentalists has a genuine right to fear a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Christians across the length and breadth of Nigeria who have witnessed or are victims of religion inspired violence have a legitimate right to fear a Muslim-Muslim ticket. To dismiss casually their fears is to dismiss their realities. What should be done is to address their fears and point to them why Tinubu and Shettima are different and how they plan to safeguard everybody. That is what should be done. But what I see here is calling ayone who raises a voice of concern an Obidient or a bigot and asking them to vote another party. To me, that isn't fair. And in a numerical contest the more numbers you have the better your chances. So every vote matters

I said a Christian VP gives a little sense of security. At least you know you have someone at the table when issues concerning you are being discussed.

First, Members of CAN are Nigerians like you and I and have the same rights as everyone. No one is more Nigerian that the other. Thus, CAN members have the right to comment and express their thoughts on candidates and parties vying for political positions.

Second, Osinbajo has been very helpless in preventing the killings of Christians. And this is even why CAN is more alarmed by a Muslim-Muslim ticket. In their thinking, if a Christian VP couldn't protect them against Muslim terrorists is it a Muslim President and VP that will provide them such protection? A Christian VP will at least give them a little sense of security.

Third, ISWAP and Boko Haram started off with the killing of Christians. It was much later they started killing Muslims. So, no one can say for certain which other Muslim terrorist group could be emboldened by a Muslim-Muslim Presidency and start targeting Christians.

Lastly, while it is true that there are other parties with a better balanced ticket, the APC being the ruling party is in good position to win the election. Therefore, there is more searchlight on its candidates. I bet you if any other party had fielded a Muslim-Muslim ticket it won't cause so much uproar as the BAT-Shettima ticket is causing.

Osinbajo has been very helpless. And that is even why many Christians fear a Muslim-Muslim ticket. I will explain.
If Osinbajo, a Christian VP, can't protect Christians, can two Muslims leaders protect them? That is the fear. Christians will at least feel a little sense of security with a Christian VP.

You simply can't dismiss the fears of CAN. In the last seven years a lot of Christians including pastors and bishops have been killed by Muslim terrorists. So, a body that represents Christians will naturally be alarmed at a Muslim-Muslim ticket. It is pure idiocy to dismiss their fears.
