You are very right, OP. These freedom fighters gave themselves away. How could Igboho have fled to Benin Rep where Gen Buratia dey as Naija ambassador? That posting was highly strategic. As you said, fleeing to Ghana would have been safer and much better, even North Africa. No, the Kabiyesi does not have a military background. However, he grew up in the North and became close to many top military officers of northern extraction, particularly IBB. In fact, he's one of the IBB boys. I guess his network of friends in the military still stands till date.

That must have been the time Obasanjo and TY Danjuma, his minister of defence, purged the military of coupists. Obasanjo retired all military men back then who had held a political appointment. Buratai probably was a military assistant or ADC to a senior officer who was in a political position when the military was in power. So many officers' career was cut short back then. Take a leave of absence for a year and go and hustle for the money. Or approach your Student Union President. He/she should be able to give you a loan from the union dues they collect. If that doesn't work, go on Twitter with all necessary proofs. I am sure you will find help. You can also write the VC through the Dean of students affairs asking the him/her to allow you write the exam. Dem no say you can't run away with their money because you no go collect your certificate.
