This is not a correction. It is insider manipulation. The market should be allowed to manage itself
Bluearrow is correct.

It's a correction and it has not yet fully corrected. Disregard your conspiracy theory of inside manipulation.

Insiders won't be able to manipulate virtually all large cap stocks on the stock exchange.

Let's say I bought Dangote Cement at ₦300 when fuel was also ₦300 per litre, before the Tinubu administration. Now, my investment has grown by about 3.7 times, almost 4 times my original capital. I decide to take profit, but the problem is that the ₦1,100 I can now sell the stock for cannot buy the same amount of fuel the ₦300 could back then.

My question is: did I really make a gain?

Another question: should I be worried that bears are coming to push these stocks down?
Question one answer: Yes you made gain by beating inflation when you factor in the percentage by which your money grew.

2 — You should be glad and happy.

Only be worried when stocks rally too fast and they refused to correct, it will mean a bubble for a very long time and that's dangerous.

Pls can someone advice me whether to redeem my STANBIC IBTC ETF 30 OR LEAVE
I invested over 200k plus but it has depleted to 170k plus
Should I redeem and move the balance to MMF or still leave it in ETF30
Attached is the details
Well sir, you have made series of mistakes down the line to this point and I can confidently tell you that, if you sell now out of fear and desperation, you will be making another mistake.

First mistake was not consulting widely before buying Stanbic eft stock.

Second mistake is buying Stanbic ETF.

Third mistake is buying at the wrong time.

Fourth mistake is, you entered into a stock you won't be able to easily sell due to low volume.

Fifth mistake is you getting impatient.

And the sixth mistake will be selling now.

Do not make the 6th mistake. However, If you can override your current emotion by being stoic like Marcus Aurelius and being patient like Vladimir Putin, you will eventually have the smile and relief of Mikel Arteta after finally winning the premier League.

Yes, the stock will keep falling according to what I see, but you already half way there so don't pull out now, if you don't — you will get back your 200k and make some gains but only if you are patient enough.

Next time, consult widely before you pick some type of stocks.

FamilyRe: Alot Of Couples Prefer To Take Their Passwords Along With Them To The Grave by Beeron: 9:13pm On Jun 01
If you know some people password, whatever they are hiding will change the perception of how you see them, that's why they prefer to take the password to the grave.

For instance, a closeted gay guy who rarely or secretly indulged in the act and was married to a woman until his death, how would his widow wife begin to see him after death?

If the heart of man has a password to read every thoughts, nobody will trust anyone close to them, not your parents, siblings or even your lover.

Since it's a sides hustle, start with whatever you have got to begin to trade Nigeria stocks.

Doesn't matter if you begin with 50k but go on YouTube to learn hot to get started.

I am actually with an equity fund manager, though on a minimal level. But I was really thinking of investing more on individual stocks than on professionally managed equity based on the 4 companies you listed earlier today.

Which would help in the long run, doing individual stocks like the Fugaz you once recommended or dealing with an equity fund manager?
personally, I do both but I do more of stocks pick than Equity fund but in essence, I do everything; stocks(US&NGX), bond, crypto, precious metals, commodities, derivatives.

I recommend you do the two.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Beeron: 4:16pm On May 31
Svoboda:
How'd you compare the above combination with investing in an equity mutual fund?
I want to believe you already investing in Equity mutual fund because I sometime see your moniker on that Equity thread.

You in the right path investing in Equity fund, I still do as well however, you have limited control over your investment, limited control such that, if you have information on how a particular stock will perform, it's outside your power to use that information since professionals manages your stocks portfolio for you, you can only just sit back and be patient to get whatever outcome the Equity fund brings, profit or loss.

This is the reason you see lots of different Equity fund brand company name beings thrown around on the Equity thread, once one person discovers a competent fund manager that pick the right stocks doing well at the moment, most people jump on it, sign up and register to ride the wave till another fund manager is discovered. That isn't sustainable in the long run because when ASI coughs, majority of those stocks catches the cold.

Patience is what matters regardless of the fund manager you use.

Good morning
I have tried treasury bill and the rate is annoying now with the WHT the removed at maturity. 90k was removed from my capital cos I invested for one year I wasn't expecting it.
Now am on MMF the percentage is not encouraging
Pls I am begging someone to put me through in another high rate investment with low risk .I don't want to put all 12m in MMF
I want to believe you already investing in stocks if you seeking higher returns to enable you constantly beat inflation.

Well if NO is your answer, simply invest the whole 12 million into MMF, then take the monthly interest from the MMF investment to continue to buy large cap stocks.

You essentially using one stone to kill two birds. How?

Your MMF is defensive + liquidity = (low returns) but your stock appreciation + dividends = Growth.

That way you consistently beating inflation as as long as you keep buying more stocks unit with the interest from the 12 million MMF.

Continue this cycle for 5 years, your money will grow exponentially via stocks.

Thank you for your suggestion. I really appreciate.

I am already using Bamboo and currently hold both GTCO and Zenith Bank shares in my portfolio, though is not much.

I am also looking at MMF as a way to diversify and have a portion of my funds in a lower-risk investment. Are you suggesting I should forfeit mmf and concentrate on buying more shares?

I would also like to ask if you know much about Bamboo's Managed Portfolio. I have been seeing it on the app and I am curious about how it works in practice. Have you used it before, and would you say it is worth trying.

Thank you once again for your valuable insights.
MMF is for 1- cash flow liquidity (upgraded savings account)
2- Wealth preservation.

If you not having a huge sum and you are young (age below 49), what are you preserving money for? when the stock market can simply 5x the money within few years, expecially now that pension funds are now allowed to invest in the stock market.

Sure there would be bad season (period of reds) in the stock market but the fact that you keep topping up monthly is why it's a perfect investment for you.

Since you already have Bamboo, just continue to buy more units of stocks. But if you have a lump sum of money, like say 10 Million and above.

Invest into MMF and get the monthly interest out of the MMF investment to top up your stocks investment.

Again if you don't have lump sum for MMF, just focus on your 50k monthly compounding via stocks.

As regards Bamboo managed dollar equity fund, I recently got into it alongside picking U.S stocks. It's not a bad idea but 100 dollar is the bare minimum to invest and top up, it you don't have enough for it, just focus on Nigeria stocks, it will pay off. Nigeria stocks market is one of the safest In the world that's why I can boldly recommend it.

U.S stocks moves with the news and corporate governance actions but Nigeria stocks moves with the health of the Banks. And guess what? Nigeria banks are the most regulated In the world.

Good morning everyone.

It seems investing is mainly for people with large amounts of capital. I would appreciate some advice on how best to invest 50k with an additional 50k to be added every month.

Which investment platform would you recommend, and what type of investment should I consider? Your honest and candid opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
No minding the amount of money. 50k isn't small money to invest if you do this strategic follow up I will suggest you.

Sign up either Bamboo app or cowrywise app.

Your goal is to invest and compound that 50k in stocks investment.

Just select 4:

GTCO
ZENITH
Stanbic
Seplat

Keep buying 50k worth of shares every month in each of this regardless of the market condition, after 4 years, (same average year it takes to graduate the university), you will be glad you made that investment.

I picked those stocks due to them being large cap and consistency in dividend payment.
PoliticsRe: What Happened To The Nigeria We Once Knew? by Beeron: 12:14pm On May 28
What happened to Nigeria is simple. Democracy is not fit or well suited for a country as massive and ethnicly diverse like Nigeria.

Maybe let's try military dictatorship again or communist (like China).

Why am I suggesting this?

Socrates the wisest man that ever lived saw the loophole in democracy, he postulated that democracy will allow the ignorant rule over the elite intelligent bringing about backward society, meaning if democracy doesn't get it right with the leadership, the society will never progress.

Guess what?

They put Socrates to the death because of that and guess who did? The ignorant democratic leaders in Athens Greece at the time.

So welcome to Democratic Nigeria.

Good evening boss, aradel did -3.89% today. Should i buy now or should i still wait? Thanks
I have been telling folks on X(Twitter) all day long this same thing.

Investors are taking profit on Aradel now and it's a crucial time because few days from now, there will be sallah holiday so, expect more profit taking.

Don't buy now, wait for profit takers to finish taking profit otherwise, you will be the one giving them the profit in an attempt to buy the dip.

Christianity EtcRe: Can Anyone Raised By Atheists, Versed In Science, Become A Christian? by Beeron: 9:13am On May 24
Yes it is possible because; A parent role is to birth a child and mold that child behavior according to that child gender identity however society are the once that completely shape the world view and life perception of that child.

So a parent influence and home training is limited to a degree such that, if a father tells his daughter not to mixed with the wrong men so she don't get pregnant, that is valid but a father can never force down his belief system or personal values into his daughter because that child is another person entirely and has to learn the world on her own, even if the child complies with the father, it's only limited for the duration that child spends under their parents roof.

So yes, Atheist parents can have kids who turned out to be believers just like my parents who are fundamental believers raised me who turned out to be Atheist.
RomanceRe: Do Men Really Like Plus-Sized Women by Beeron:
While fat girls are good for short term dating and frolicking with due to their excessive meat however, they are equally a massive red flag to any serious guy considering marriage.

Why?

To suddenly gain weight isn't a big deal, the big deal is accumulating so much to be fat because it's an indicative of the fact that the girl is lazy to work out and lacks self control to control her impulsive eating habit.

Now a woman who lacks self control and lazy will struggle to be an effective wife even if she has good intentions and genuinely a good person, her flaw as a person will continue to haunt her till she makes a drastic change to do the hard work to lose weight and during the active process of trying to lose weight, she will learn tolerance, endurance, self control and other attributes expected in a good wife. Now this doesn't excuse the flaw of a skinny girl because they have character flaws too but fat girls own is easily detected from a mile away.

After the emotional investors are done selling and after the early investors are done taking profit then a new rally will begin. The only problem is, no one can predict the actual date.

Edited to add:

If you really don't want to stay on the sideline, you should pick stocks that don't move ASI, that way you can still make money trading regardless of ASI bearish regime.
