Thanks for sharing. All you said is true. It all depends. I don’t believe anyone would leave a country and not prepare for challenges. There are challenges indeed. In my own case, GOD has been truly helpful along the way. I’m very religious so I hold on to the helm of GOD’s garment. The only major shock I had was the overpriced houses and car insurance you have to pay but in my own case, my friend housed me for a while until I got a job and moved so settling down was okay for me and it’s been okay since. Even with the challenges, I’ve been dangerously helped by GOD. My advice to everyone, equip yourself and keep an open mind. Face your journey. Our destinies and backgrounds are different. tshtsh: I'll also add that the skills/strategies required to thrive in Nigeria is quite different from what is required to thrive in Canada. People have different reasons for moving to Canada and the hardship people face at first is usually compounded by lack of understanding of the system. No amount of preparation may prepare you for some of the things you'll encounter but if you remain strong, you'll thrive. When I moved here in 2022 my biggest fear was the job market hence I got a job in my field before landing. Close to my travel date, I found it hard finding anyone to accommodate me for the first two weeks. Friends in Canada who stayed at my apartment in Lagos each time they visited kept telling me how their house was full and all. I didn't understand because in Nigeria I accommodate people (friend of brother, friend of friend, sibling of friend...) hence I didn't think in the line of air bnb. When I arrived I noticed how heavily indebted people were. Even the whole "I bought a house" is different from home purchase in Nigeria as I knew it. Some people buy a house via mortgage and rent out all spare rooms. That was something new to me. Same people whose homes were full later offered me spot in their home for $800 or $1000 a month when they noticed that I actually had a job in Canada. Its a brutal system where people look to profit off others irrespective of the situation. I remained strong, stayed in that air bnb, built my credit and eventually moved into a condo. The rental market was very competitive then and nobody was willing to rent to me as a newcomer with no credit history. Hence I advice people to not be too quick to re-connect with old foes or make friends. After sometime, newcomers will understand the system and find it easier to thrive |

Only #1 is necessary. That’s why it’s a gift deed. You can even receive money today and do gift deed dated today showing all that money. There’s no need for 6months etc. just show statement covering the period of the money. Remember the gift deed is explaining just that inflow. Go to page 1 on this page and use the gift deed format. Congrats, you have sorted the koko. Wishing you the best. Blackshaid: Good Morning house Please I have a question to ask. So I intend to use deed gift as POF. 1) Do I have to show 6months bank statement? Or should I print a bank statement starting from when the gift was transferred to me. 2) In a case where I have to show a 6 months bank statement, if within these 6months I received some lump sums prior to when I even got ITA o, and the money is totally unrelated to my POF or application in any way, do I need to explain these lump sums? Like would I need to write a LOE?
Thank you🙏 |

Swealy: Pls is Canada still a good option for PR, I hear no jobs and live is bad for Nigerians there. Is this the case ? tiwor: We need more clarifications on this To be honest,I'm getting nervous Relocation is not easy I need the positive feedback more Please Hi to you both. I hear people keep complaining about Canada. The truth is that it depends on your situation in life, being married/single/kids/qualification. But I will tell you that it depends on your mindset. An abundance mindset and trust in GOD is paramount. For me, I prayed for grace and favour and equipped myself before coming here. I was a chartered accountant. I never did any menial job or went back to school because I was already equipped. I got a job in less than 3 months and to be honest, my life in Nigeria is at par with here. I have made up my mind that even if I’m in Afghanistan, I will thrive. Yes it’s expensive but if you are frugal, cutting your cloth to your size. It will work out well. You can even survive on one good job. People make it seem like without 2 jobs, you will die or that you must do menial jobs. All the people that I know started as professionals as well. Your circle matters as well. Know your why and surrender to GOD, the master planner. He will lead you. The sky is your starting point. I wish you the best. |

Write the letter in IRCC’s format and get your line manager or supervisor to sign. Let it be on letterhead paper too. All the best. Blackshaid: Please help, in a case where one’s employer is not willing to issue a reference letter, how else can one prove and show that they worked there? |

Thank you very much for this detailed honest truth. Focusmind: You have to get your mind prepared for the worst. Work towards your mental health as the challenges of job search could be unnerving and depressing. My own person just got her first job after 9months of landing in Canada. After submitting close to 200 applications. She is in the health and community services sector.
Job hunting now in Canada requires one to have good mental resilience or else stress and depression would affect your academic. Good luck! |

You have to upload both. Theflint1: I have IELTS, and my WES is currently being evaluated. Do I need to upload my WES evaluation before I can be in the pool, or it's after I get invitation to apply? |

Without IELTS and WES, you can't have a profile. Read page one of this thread or online. All the best. Theflint1: Hello house, looking to apply for the PR soon, my spouse and I have taken the IELTS, we're waiting for WES to evaluate our transcripts (for some reason its taking forever), can we apply for the PR so we're in the pool pending when our WES evaluation is ready? |

Hello. You need to get a notary to sign. Their cost can be btw 5-20k. Used to be btw 5-10k but now the prices may have increased. They sign and stamp. Make sure that when submitting documents to IRCC, they are all coloured so that stamps can show too. The gift deed format is on page 1. id4sho: Does one need services of a lawyer when signing gift deed? or the donor signature is okay? |

You have got it all wrong. It’s leaving it in Naira that would kill you. Leave your money in Dollars: you have already hedge against foreign exchange loss. Dollar no dey shake: na Naira dey shake. Don’t make that mistake o. What type of audit do you do? adebenson155: Good day guys.
I got denied canada study visa in January.
I have just gotten back my 10,000 CAD tuition deposit and I don't wish to re apply until after one year
Will you advice I change the CAD to naira due to this fluctuation of naira and dollar, or I leave in CAD.
I am scared if I leave it in dollars in my account it might depreciate badly before the time I want to re apply.
I also need advice from people . I am an Auditor. Which country outside Africa can I migrate to with 10,000 USD. |

As long as there is a gift deed. The money can enter into the account that same day. The gift deed explains the huge influx of money. No need to show statement for 6 months. Just make sure the time period shown includes that money. All the best to you all. Your sister is right. PanicButton: Hi,
Asking for my sister. If you are using deed of gift as POF, do you still need to show up to 6 months bank statement? Does 1 month suffice? She is under the assumption that there is no need for 6 months bank statement. |

You can do this. Just make sure it’s not your parent who signs with the same name (family name). You can get another different family member to sign. If the company was registered. It is even better because it will have some online presence. Make sure you have access to the email of the company or better still, create one just incase IRCC emails because nonetheless, you need an email address on your proof of work experience. Many people have used family business because in the end, it’s still work experience. Just make sure that there are no similar names. All the best. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/express-entry/applications-received-on-after-january-1-2016-completeness-check.html For your guidance. Charley97: Hello everyone So I don't have the money for the study route I just concluded my NYSC, so work experience is just 1 year in a computer science field, I can claim work experience from a family business with the role of production manager, but I heard it's not wise to claim work experience from family, because getting a reference letter from a family member is a red flag, it's a small business though Do you think I stand a chance of getting into Canada through the express entry or the northern immigration or Atlantic immigration I'm 25 |

Just look at how the journey is different and very difficult for some. Then in the future some people who passed through this same journey would now become proud and be laughing at the people who are in the shoes they were once in and even have the effrontery to be saying that they should block immigration.
I pray for hope, strength and belief for everyone on this journey. That GOD will give you a miracle and that soonest, It will change for good.
Remember to always be humble and grateful when things turn around. |

My heart goes out to everyone currently in this journey. It’s so difficult now. During my time 3/4 yrs ago. POF was 3.5M for one person. At that time, it was difficult as well but now, the difficulty is now 100% more. I don’t even know the advice to give people now. Please look at every option well and act accordingly. It will end well by the Grace of GOD. tshtsh: Yep the dynamics have changed. The process has also become very expensive. WES fee, IELTS fee, Funds in the bank, visa fee , ticket fees and cost of settling into Canada. Then for those going to study in Canada with the sole aim of transiting to permanent residency kindly make your plans before embarking on it. |
