NwekeUG: IgbereTV reports that famous Islamic leader and scholar, Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Gumi has condemned the present state of Insecurity witnessed in the country as a result of Boko Haram.
In the video below, he said that Nigeria has witnessed more death as a result of Boko Haram now than during the government of President Goodluck Jonathan. He blamed the current President, Muhammadu Buhari for Boko Haram attacks. He said Buhari's government is not committed to fighting insurgency as it should.
The Islamic scholar said the way he asked President Jonathan to resign over Boko Haram insurgency is the same way he is now asking President Buhari to resign, even with immediate effect as insecurity is getting worse.
Gumi who could not hide his feelings during the speech felt sorry for speaking against Jonathan.
He admitted that Jonathan's regime was more democratic as it affordable Nigerian citizens and journalists press freedom.
He also praised Jonathan for building 9 universities for the North and over 150 almajiri schools.
At his inauguration on 29 May 2015, Buhari pledged he would defeat Boko Haram and deliver greater security. Even though effort is currently being made to fight the insurgents, the group remains resilient.

References: A protest broke out at the headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Saturday over the continued detention of Omoyele Sowore, convener of RevolutionNow Movement.
Sowore was arrested in Lagos on August 3 and subsequently flown to Abuja where he is being detained.
Last month, a federal high court in Abuja granted him bail but the secret police refused to release him despite fulfilling the bail condition.
On Friday, Peter Afunanya, spokesman of the secret police, acknowledged that the agency had received the order to release Sowore but said the service had not freed him because no one showed up on his behalf.
However, on Saturday morning, lawyers, supporters and family members of the activist visited the DSS headquarters but were denied access to Sowore.
Abubakar Marshal, one of the activist’s lawyers, arrived at the DSS office at 10am alongside some members of Sowore’s family but security operatives prevented them from gaining access to the facility.
The operatives manning the gate had asked them of their mission and the lawyer introduced himself, saying he was was there to pick up his client.
But they said he would not be allow in until they got clearance from their superiors. This led to altercation as the lawyer vowed not to leave there until Sowore is out.
In the heat of the argument, a legal director at DSS put a call to Marshal, saying he was not around.
This prompted some of the supporters of Sowore to stage a protest outside the headquarters of the secret police.
They vowed to continue occupying the DSS headquarters until Sowore is released. After waiting for over three hours, some of the lawyers left.
The statement of Afunanya that Sowore was not released because no one showed up on his behalf had sparked outrage among Nigerians.
Femi Falana, lead counsel of the activist, had countered Afunanya, saying lawyers who spent at least four hours at DSS headquarters in connection with Sowore’s detention were not attended to on Wednesday.

Gossipninja: The convener of Concerned Nigerians, Comrade Deji Adeyanju has stormed the DSS headquarters in Abuja with some Journalists to receive the convener of RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore.
As earlier reported, Deji, has volunteered to pick Sowore since the DSS has said no person has turned up at the DSS headquarters to take delivery of him.
ogbetaNews: When a Lagos trader Mr. Emeka Omenka and his wife Ifeoma allowed their 13-year-old daughter Precious to visit her half-sister in Lekki, they never knew it was a decision they would regret the rest of their lives.
Precious, a Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3 pupil died on October 25 at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Ebute Metta from complications of the beating she allegedly received from her older half-sister Nneka and her mother Seki Eko on October 14.
According to the death certificate issued at the hospital, the primary and secondary causes of death were Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) and Cardiopulmonary Collapse.
According to the National Kidney Foundation, AKI is a sudden episode of kidney failure or kidney damage that happens within a few hours or a few days and causes a build-up of waste products in the blood, making it hard for the kidneys to keep the right balance of fluid in the body.
Other causes of AKI, the foundation said, are decreased blood flow to the kidney caused by shock, clotting, bleeding or severe diarrhoea, severe allergic reaction, overuse of pain medicines used to reduce swelling or relieve pain from headaches, colds, flu, and other ailments.
The teenager went to Nneka’s house in Ikota, Lekki on October 12 on the latter’s request.
Omenka said his 13-year-old daughter was returned on October 16 looking weak with complaints of body pains. He said Precious gave details of how she was kicked in the stomach, chest and sides several times, adding that she was beaten with a mop stick and a cable as well. They tried to relieve the pains with analgesics and hot water massage.
“I am in pain,” he said. “My heart is broken. I do not even know where to start. I am finding it so difficult to understand how my older daughter and her mother beat up my girl so badly to the point that she died as a result of wounds she sustained. Nneka is my first daughter. I had her out of wedlock with one Seki Eko I was in a relationship with. She runs a beer parlour at Oluwole Market. But Nneka was trained by my wife Ifeoma who loved her like her own child.
“When I got married to my wife, it was difficult for her to conceive and so she brought up Nneka like her own child. So, when she came and said Precious should come to her place in Ikota, we did not have any reason to deny her request. Her husband lives in Dubai. She promised to send her to a private school to appreciate my wife for taking care of her.
“Precious went to her place on October 12. It was that weekend that it rained all through. Then, on October 14, which was a Monday, it also rained and Precious said she peed on the bed. That was her offence that made my daughter and her mother to descend on her like that.
“When they finished, they brought her back and dumped her at my place in Apapa Road, Ebute Metta. She was complaining of body pains and narrated what happened to her at her sister’s place in tears. I could not bear it and I wept as she was talking.
“My wife and I bought painkillers that we gave her. My wife was also using hot water and cloth to massage her body. We did not know that it was so bad. When we saw that she was not getting better despite the painkillers, we decided to take her to FMC because that’s where she was born.
“She was already stooling on her body and her mother was cleaning it. So, at the hospital, she was rushed to the emergency room after the doctors said she was short of blood. They did so many tests and scans and discovered that she was bleeding internally and that her bladder burst too.
“She was in the hospital some days and was booked for emergency surgery. I was busy running around to raise money to save my daughter’s life. I even borrowed from friends and family members so that she could be saved but at last we lost her.
“Nneka did not tell me what happened to my daughter and did not even come to the hospital until her relative from her mother’s side who works at the FMC called her to rebuke her. That was when she came and spent about N14,000 on my daughter’s drugs that day.
"I did not go to the police station then because I was busy running around for my daughter to be alright. But after she passed on…my kinsmen advised I report at the station. I went to Denton Police Station and Iponri but they told me it did not happen in their jurisdiction and that I should go to Lekki to report.
“I just sent a message to her husband and told him what she did. My wife has been inconsolable since then.
“I want justice for my daughter. I feel very disappointed that this happened to my family. I want human rights to come and government to investigate this case. Nneka is my daughter but Precious is also my daughter and she did not deserve to die like that,” he said.
The mother of the deceased told our correspondent she was still in shock over the incident, denying insinuations that Precious might have been ill.
She said: “My daughter was very healthy and even cooked for her younger ones that day before following Nneka. Nneka and her mother should explain what happened to my daughter. Nneka was brought to my house when she was 17 and we trained her in the university. I never did any wrong to her and then, she chose to pay me back this way?”
Our correspondent contacted Nneka for her reaction to the allegation and she said she would call back because where she was in a noisy place. After 90 minutes, our correspondent called again but she asked, “Who gave you the information? I cannot answer you if you do not say who gave you information. If you are recording me, I am recording you too and we all have our exhibits.”
Later, a woman, Tolu Fagbayila who said she was Nneka’s manager and public relations person called but declined to give her client’s side of the story.
She insisted on a physical meeting for a way forward.
Our correspondent told her a physical meeting was not necessary and that Nneka’s reaction could be sent through email, WhatsApp or SMS by the lawyer or anyone speaking on her behalf but that was not done.
Nneka reportedly told those around her the teenager died as a result of ruptured appendicitis, adding that the girl was ill before she took her to her house.
Efforts to reach her mother Seki Eko on her telephone number were unsuccessful. Meanwhile, a coalition of child advocates has signified interest in the matter following The Nation online report of the case.
Mr. Omenka told our correspondent that the advocates have contacted and interviewed him, adding that they also volunteered to take over the case and ensure justice.
Sources at the police station said an order to exhume the teenager’s body would be sought so that autopsy could be conducted.
Police spokesman Bala Elkana confirmed the case was reported at Ajiwe Division in Ajah, adding that the suspects have been arrested.
He said, “The father of the girl reported the incident at Ajah Police Station. He said he has since buried the girl. We have arrested the suspects and the case has been transferred to homicide section of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence (SCIID) Yaba.”

Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State is reportedly set to break another record in the history of Nigeria as he is at the finishing stage of the arrangement to import electric vehicles and charging points in the state.
Igbere TV reports that Umahi is presently meeting with that Umahi is currently meeting with the Managing Director of Simba Group, Mr. Vinay Grover; TVS Company Leaders, Marketer of Electric Tricycles/Vehicles etc at Bangalore, India.
Igbere TV recalls that on Wednesday, 16th October, 2019, the Governor presented a hand of partnership to India Government through the Indian High Commissioner, His Excellency, Mr. Abhay Thakur where he enumerated establishment of Electric Automobile Assembling Plant, Importation of Sample electric powered Tricycles, Buses, Motorcycles and cars etc. as few of the areas of partnership.
Others include; Agriculture where poultry, piggery and food processing top in his presentation.
Governor Umahi had earlier stated that the use of electric mode automobiles is not only a technology of tomorrow but a technology that cuts cost.
Speaking with Igbere TV correspondent, the Special Assistant on Media to Umahi, Mr. Francis Nwaze noted that the Governor recently presented a public lecture at University of Nigeria Nsukka on the topic, “Preparing Ebonyi State for a Zero Oil Economy”.
According to him, “He is the first governor in Nigeria to think outside the box on ways of sustaining her state when the Oil might have gone.”
He added that “Umahi’s passion is on developing Ebonyi State to the amazement of the general public and he is on top of his aim.”

Metrixnews: The chancellor, Eastern Palm University, Sen. Rochas Okorocha has announced plans to offer students with excellent academic performance in JAMB automatic scholarship into various departments in the university.
Okorocha, the immediate past governor of Imo state made this known in a chat with ABN TV on Wednesday.
He emphasised that those with special cases who by unforeseen circumstances cannot afford to go to school will be considered.
The federal lawmaker while stating that his Foundation, Rochas Okorocha Foundation is in talks with JAMB to organize this scholarship described education as a critical social infrastructure to drive development.
He also announced that at the moment, Eastern Palm University is offering free education to no fewer than 720 students at various departments, saying this is a way the Foundation is offering assistance to those who cannot afford the cost of education.
Okorocha also said the aim of establishing the university is to help the Foundation actualize its mandate of training children of the poor to the university level, adding that it is more cost effective than enrolling them in universities that do not belong to the Foundation.
While announcing that benefiting students can approach the Rochas Foundation headquarters or register online, Okorocha said JAMB will play a critical role in choosing those who will access the scholarship.

Explorers: At least 70 people have been killed after gas cooking stoves exploded and set fire to a crowded train in Pakistan.
More than 30 people were wounded, some critically, in the blaze which started when two gas stoves being used by poorer passengers to cook breakfast on Thursday morning blew up.
As smoke and flames tore through the train, desperate passengers threw themselves out of the moving carriages - many of them jumping to their deaths.
Children were among those killed in the blaze, according to local reports.

Peter Obi is nobody's friend when it comes to governance so will not play by party rules, Both APC and PDP will hate him cause he will be a total deviation from the status quo.. Government contractors will struggle with lesser profits even the legislators will be at war with him for forcing their cost down.

MetaPhysical: Lauretta Onochie, President Buhari’s special assistant on social media has reacted to calls from Igbo monarch, appealing to the Federal Government to allow the leader of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu to return to Nigeria for the burial his mother, Sally, without molestation.
Recall that monarchs in Orlu, Imo state, pleaded with the presidency to allow the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to return to the country to bury his late mum.
Presidency, while reacting to the plea, through Lauretta Onochie, directed Kanu to apply for a zoo visa through the Nigerian High Commission in London and wait for approval.
Lauretta, who spoke via her Twitter handle, concluded by asking if Kanu was deported in the first instance.
She wrote;

Fulani Herdsmen Did Not Attack Any Community in Enugu - EYC
The attention of Enugu Youth Coalition has been drawn to the report suggesting that Fulani Herdsmen were responsible for yesterday's attack in Eke-town in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.
In a statement signed by the national coordinator of the coalition, Dr. Edwin Obune, the group said it was wrong to accuse herdsmen of been responsible since the identity of the attackers is yet to be established.
While condemning the attack, the Spokesman for the Enugu State Police Command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu said ''The gunmen were still at large, but it would be wrong to refer to them as Fulani Herdsmen.''
Therefore, we frown at the latest attempt by some agents and their masters to re-invent 'yellow journalism' in Enugu State for whatever reason or purpose.
Enugu State is not only peaceful, safe and secure but the people's hospitality is second to none in Nigeria.
We therefore condemn the plot by some 'yellow journalists' and their collaborators to portray the state and it's people in the bad light.
Enugu remains a destination of choice for all Nigerians irrespective of faith, tribe or political affiliation because the state is in the Hands of God!

bamoproperty: A daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari, Zahra, on Friday, stunned guests at a BBC Hausa event when she revealed that she is unable to speak fluently in Hausa, her father’s language.
The event was to unveil winners of a literary contest organised by the broadcast station. Mr Buhari is a Hausa man from Daura, an important Hausa city in Katsina. Zahra’s mother, Aisha, is, however, a Fulani from Adamawa.
“I’ll make you laugh,” Zahra, who is married to businessman Ahmed Indimi said, when asked to make a comment at the ceremony officiated in Hausa.
She said she and her siblings rarely communicate in the language.
”Every day my father would correct my Hausa when I converse with him” she said in Hausa amidst laughter.
She said they usually communicate in “Engausa” a colloquial term for mixing of English and Hausa in a conversation.
She attributed her inability to speak good Hausa to attending schools with “children of white people.”
The president’s daughter later told interviewers off stage that they mostly speak in her mother’s native Fulfude language at home.
