The President General of Ohaneaze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, is morally unfit to advise President Muhammadu on issues of national security after he assumed the role of patron of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Igbo Conscience has said. 

According to the southeastern natives, there is a deliberate plot by Nwodo and his cohorts to destabilize Nigeria with his call for the sack of the Service Chiefs. 

In a statement signed by converner, Kingsley Mbani, on Friday,  the Igbo Conscience denounced Nwodo, adding that his position doesn't represent that of the people of South-East Nigeria. 

Describing him as selfish, the group noted that Mr Nwodo has thrown aside national interest, fraternizing with IPOB amd others against the interest of the country. 

The Igbo Conscience warned Chief Nwodo that "posterity would not be kind to him should he continue to with fraternize with the likes of Nnamdi Kanu and his paymasters whose major preoccupation is the destabilization of Nigeria". 

It, however, advised the Ohanaeze leader to denounce and resign his position as the grand patron of IPOB.

The Igbo Conscience group wishes to place on record that the statement credited to Chief Nnia Nwodo, the President General of Ohaneaze Ndigbo supporting the call for the removal of Service Chiefs in the country is not the position of the people of South-East Nigeria.  

Chief Nnia Nwodo has by all intent and purposes displayed a disdain for Nigeria by electing to see things from the prism of his selfish interest, rather than that of national interest. 

The Igbo Conscience is left with no choice but to believe that Chief Nnia Nwodo has gone back to his olds ways by fraternizing with those against the interest of the country.  We wish to state that the statement credited to him is most despicable even though it's common knowledge that he shares a particular affinity with the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The unholy alliance by Chief Nnia Nwodo with the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu is albeit shameful; it further buttresses the fact that Chief Nnia Nwodo is not a true Igbo man that has a mind of his own to challenge any evil in the society. 

If that has not been the case, it leaves all to the imagination for supporting the call for the sack of Service Chiefs, which by and large aligns with the position of IPOB in their grand plot to destabilize Nigeria. 

The Igbo Conscience wishes to use this medium to inform the members of the general public that Chief Nnia Nwodo and his paymasters have elected to turn blind and deaf in the blind pursuit of their well-crafted agenda against the unity and progress of Nigeria.

Frank Urges Buhari, NASS to probe $2.5bn Oil Sale to China, suspension of NNPC’s GMD


Following the recent disclosure by the PointBlank news of the sale of 48 million barrels of Nigeria's Bonny Crude Light oil to China, valued at $2.5bn but allegedly shared by some persons around the government, the National Assembly has been urged to beem searchlight on the allegation.

A political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank on Friday, called for the immediate arrest, investigation and prosecution of all those involved in the sale and diversion of the proceeds of the oil to China.

Frank, in the statement, wondered how General Muhammadu Buhari, perceived as the "anti-corruption fighter of Africa", by ECOWAS would allow such brazen acts of corruption to be perpetuated under his watch.

"Corruption under Buhari has assumed a very disturbing height and, except he is complicit, one wonders why he has stubbornly refused to prosecute persons indicted for the corruption perpetuated under his watch as Petroleum Minister?”

It would be recalled, that Frank had earlier raised an alarm concerning the sale of crude oil to China in 2015 under questionable circumstances for which the accrued funds were diverted by cronies of General Muhammadu Buhari.

Following the transaction in 2015, Buhari had thereafter, instituted a team to travel to China to investigate the report concerning the oil sale.

"We need Buhari to tell Nigerians the outcome of that investigative team to China", Frank stated.

"Except he (Buhari) is also complicit and in full knowledge of the $2.5bn oil sale to China, we expect the immediate arrest and prosecution of all those mentioned in the wicked, demonic and outright stealing of resources that could have been utilized in the provision of sustainable amenities for Nigerians.

"This is one crime against the citizenry too many that should not be allowed to be swept under the carpet in any form,” he said.

Frank also called on the Government of the United States of America to investigate this act of criminality as Nigerians no longer have the confidence in the Buhari-led administration.

He added: “I hereby call on the US Government to help Nigerians investigate this crime as we no longer have confidence in the Buhari-led government especially as the transaction was conducted, using the US currency and with the amount involved, the entire proceeds can be easily traced with the persons and organizations involved, traced.”

The Bayelsa-born political activist implored General Muhammadu Buhari to immediately set-up an investigative panel just like the Justice Ayo Salami-panel that was set-up to look into the allegations against the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, that will look into “this weighty allegation which has further, brought ridicule and embarrassment, not only to his APC administration but to Nigeria and Nigerians.

“The President must immediately adopt a similar approach in sacking the board of the NNPC for this crude oil sale of $2.5bn which the GMD of the NNPC, Engr. Mele Kyari and every other persons involved in, has been indicted.”

He also advised both Chambers of the National Assembly, particularly, the Senate to investigate this criminality and possibly, push for their immediate arrest, prosecution and conviction.

Frank enjoined the opposition members in the National Assembly, especially the Minority Leaders, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe and Honourable Ndudi Elumelu of the Senate and House of Representatives respectively, not to allow this manifest fraud to be swept under the carpet like others in the past “as all eyes are on them to ensure that our commonwealth and resources are not pilfered under any guise.”

He called on both men to look critically, into these very weighty and embarrassing allegations as published by PointBlank News

The political activist also called for the suspension of the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, Engr. Mele Kyari to allow for thorough investigation of the sale of over 48 million barrels of Bonny Crude Light oil.

"The NNPC GMD must step aside so as not to allow for a proper investigation of this humongous stealing and criminality,” Frank stated.

What transpired today between the minister of labour, Senator Chris Ngige and the member representing Ikeja federal constituency at the lower chamber of the national assembly, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke is a show of arrogance and ungratefulness on the part of the minister.


Ngige was a puppet Governor of Anambra state installed by the then 36 year old Andy Uba who later orchestrated the famous kidnap attempt on him when he refused to play ball. Ngige lost his re - election to the Senate, getting less than 25% of all votes caste, he has remain a political paper weight in Anambra, while Tinubu is a force to reckon with in Nigeria's political landscape.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday approved the sum of N75 billion for the establishment of the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF).

The NYIF, also tagged ‘the Youth Bank’, would create financial support for the creativity and innovation of Nigerian youths within the age range of 18 and 35 years.

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare disclosed this to State House Correspondents after a lengthy FEC meeting on Wednesday night.

The Minister emphasised that those between the ages of 18 and 35, who have genuine business ideas would be eligible to pitch their ideas in any of the 125 micro-credit banks across the country and qualified candidates would have access to the funds.

Dare said: “For the first time in the history of Nigeria, the Federal Executive Council today approved the establishment of the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) to the tune of N75 billion. This fund will create a special window for accessing credit facilities and finance on the part of our youths that will help to fund their ideas, innovations."

“The best way to call it is that for the first time the country will have a youth bank.”

FEC also approved the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to play a lead role in working on necessary steps in terms of legislation, organisation and other aspects of financing.

“The Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning will take the lead when it comes to the aspect of the financing, working with the CBN, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and other relevant MDAs."

“A couple of other details will be released later, but I think the most important thing is that the N75 billion Nigerian Youth Investment Fund, to cater specifically for this target group, a population of over 68 million, got the attention and support of the Federal Executive Council today and this fund will be assessed by our youths, once they are able to present their ideas, they can assess this fund directly,” Dare added.

He, however, promised that just as the N-Power programme, the process of the Youth Bank would be digital and fair to all youth aged between 18 and 35 years, regardless of tribe or social status.
