sweetgal81:I probably didn't ask the right question. What did the two of you study? |
ahdebayo:Fortunately OOU is among the universities VETASSES give positive assessment from what I have been able to gather. |
@Kike100, You don't need IELTS to assess with VETASSES. You can go for the internal audit occupation but make sure his descriptions align with that of the ANZSCO description. What did your husband study? He is better as the principal applicant. KIKIADE:The only way is to present a job offer letter. Why are you considering 489? |
zanyzara:No ill-feelings.. Let us know what EA says. Goodluck |
SUJYDEE:Unfortunately, I can't be of help on this occasion. I don't live in New South Wales, if I have to provide any information on the region, I would have to use Google which means we will arrive at the same conclusion if you also use Google. |
uzoexcel:Your question is ambiguous. Everybody has a reason for relocation, individual differs on why he/she chose to relocate, so streamlining experience into one sentence will not answer your question. First, identify why you want to move. Some moved because they want to live in a sane environment, some for personal health, some to escape family drama and issues while majority relocated for economic prosperity. In saying the above, your reason for relocation will determine whether the move worth it or not. However, irrespective of the reasons that initiated your relocation, you will definitely find what you are looking for in the long run. If you are moving for economic prosperity, I wouldn't say you will get a job immediately you arrive but no matter what you will get something reasonable doing within the first six months "worst" case scenario. It is why the government advised that migrants bring enough resources for the first six months. It doesn't mean you can't get a job immediately. South Australia has the highest rate of unemployment despite the statistics, I know people who got something doing within three weeks of arrival. No two people are the same, there are individual circumstances such as your employable skills, good resume, transferable skills, good cover letter and interview performance not forgetting networking which can land you a job faster than any other process. In summary, understand why you are relocating so you will be able to measure if your dreams or expectations have been met. Then have a realistic expectations of what to get. The system is relatively fair to all except you are extremely ignorant. Be conversant with your work conditions and speak up against your employer if your rights are being trampled on or if you are being denied. No one has the right to bully you at work, if you are being bullied or discriminated against, you have the luxury of escalating it to the Work, Health and Safety (WHS) body in your state to mediate. This is without any repercussions against you. For my own reasons, expectations are being met and for everyone in this country, things can only get better. |
sweetgal81:What is your occupation and what is your husband's occupation? |
@Zanyzara, Few people responded to your query but you chose not to acknowledge or respond to any. It is not courteous. Your response will help give further advice or information. Nevertheless, contact EA, ask for which class of occupation will a mechanical engineering associate fall into. I can't see any occupation for a mechanical engineering associate. In addition, was your bachelor assessed to be equal to AQF Bachelors degree? If yes, irrespective of the occupation you are given, you can claim full point from qualification. I hope you respond to this. |
OzyMigrant:He doesn't have to work. He can help you ask around. mamajaz:Thank you madam |
For those who have to write statement of commitment for State's nomination, I have attached a sample written for a friend. You can use the template to write yours and add to the reasons as need be. Goodluck |
Tito19:Apply for state nomination |
princessayinke:Physiotherapy board is different from the medical board. There is no point collaborating. Visit the physiotherapy board website for further information. I think the process for physiotherapist is not as cumbersome as those in Medicine. |
Tito19, He can nominate Electrical engineering draftsperson, it is both on the SOL and CSOL lists. EA is the authority assessing it. Like previously said, he can write his CDR based on IT and school project while you balance the points from other areas. No, you don't have to be COREN or other professional body registered before getting positive assessment as a professional engineer. You only need a bachelor degree and a good CDR. |
It is well with the boy. He will surely live.... |

Since you have a friend in Oz, why is he not helping you get it? |
utcheylee:Find it in this link https://www.nairaland.com/3053069/general-guide-australian-permanent-resident/89#50507339 |
ahdebayo:How many years of practice do you have? |
AgbenuAnna:You should engage a belly reducing exercise.. Google it |
AgbenuAnna:If you are the one in the DP, you don't need to take anything. There is no fat in that stomach ![]() |
@Zanyzara, What it simply means is that your assessment outcome is an Engineering Associate. Your CDR didn't proof a professional Engineer according to them. It is still positive, what did they say on your experience? With the Engineering Associate, what I am not sure you get is if it will be an Engineering technologist or mechanical engineering draftsperson. I am not an engineer, so I may not be in the best position to give a definite response. However, I believe you can ask EA for clarity. In addition, you can appeal the decision if uou know you can rewrite a convincing CDR. |

SenoritaCristo:Eat less of carbohydrates and more of fat based died with enough vegetables. Use lime if you can't get lemon. Not compulsory but for better "enjoyment", u can toast it. Yes |
ayodeji013:With all the info on this thread especially for Engineers and how their assessment seems easier compared to others, you are still asking this question? I expect you by now to get assessment done and apply for PR straight or start the process when you arrive on your 476 |
Cuteannie02, Let's pop champagne... |
Timbuktuo:Aptly put.. Couldn't have been said better |
HIDDENSECRECY:Which body are you assessing with? You don't need to certify the documents if you are uploading coloured original. Google can help you with court address |
toslad:That is not enough reason to grant you custody. Well, the fathers will have to release them to you. I believe your lawyer will be able to guide you through the process. |
sftt:If you have a domiciliary account, get a dollar card, buy dollars from the black market and pay with it. or find someone here who will pay for you and you pay the Naira equivalent to his/her Nigeria account. |
@Toslad, May her soul rest in peace. I pray God give the family strength and fortitude to bear the loss... Accept my heartfelt condolence. As per custody, yes you can but you have to proof you have been taking care of them prior to their mother's death or you have been granted their custody by providing legal documents to support your claim. What of their father? |
@Ifexsco, As a permanent resident, you can start a business if you want. The process of business registration is simple and straight forward. Go to Australian Taxation Office's (ATO) website, register for an ABN (Australian Business Number) just like an individual register for TFN. Once you register for an ABN, you can start your business as you will then be charged tax as a business entity. It may not be that straight forward depending on the kind of business you plan to start but if it is buying and selling and other small businesses, the process is simple. I may not be the best to issue advice as per business because my interest lies somewhere else. However, for every business, I know for sure that it is better to first understand your target market before jumping in. One of the best ways to make money in this country is to engage in government business through delivering social services which is what I am looking at. You have to consider your interest, business appetite and knowledge before entering into the market. SO on what kind of business to do, I don't think anyone can offer advice to another on that as I do not know what you can do or where your interest lies but certainly you can start a business if you have the resources. |
Prolivingproof:Assessing authorities use the last 10 years to assess skills as that is reasonably recent. However, you can claim points for all your experience if the authority doesn't cut off some years from it like ACS normally do. |
