Robyn,

If your job descriptions match that of the occupation, you will get a positive assessment. You can read further on VETASSES'website. I once attached a document from VETASSES explaining how each occupation is assessed.

For the master's, if you have the money, you wouldn't be sent back home. You can always renew by registering for more courses till you get what you want.
If you pass the exam, I believe you can get a sponsor if you search diligently away from major cities. Someone just got an offer with an hospital, now changing her visa to work visa.

@ Bellong.. well done. please can I have your email please. i need to ask you some private questions for a brother who is applying. his course is not listed and he does not have work experience.
In what way does he need help since his occupation is not on the list and he doesn't have work experience?

If he wants to move, he should consider a student visa. The link to the student visa thread is on the first page of the thread.

Life of a widow is so frustrating. Even in church, they look down on you as if you become a widow by choice. I pray the God that settled Serubawon will settle us too in Jesus name. I'm so sad right now.
If I were you, I will find a Bible believing church. You need to change where you worship if they behave this way, it only shows their shallow understanding of life and the scripture, I wouldn't want to be part of such congregation.

However, many widows and widowers don't find joy and happiness again because they refused to let go of the loss. It is difficult I know but it is what you have to do to be free and happy.

Open your heart while guiding it jealously against those who may want to take advantage. You will find a good man with time and remember God makes all things beautiful in His time.

It is well with you

@tonymd,

Yes, your degree will be assessed to equal bachelor degree which is what is needed for the occupation. However, your experience will be assessed negatively.

For primary health organization manager or medical administrator, you need at least three years experience in primary health care or as a medical administrator. Those two are the only ways you can move without going through the medical board exam.

I believe the exam can be written either in Egypt or South Africa. On passing the first stage, you can use it to get employer's sponsored visa to go through the second stage or one year supervision practice.

As previously said, if you have a lot of money, another option is to come as a student so you can write the exam and look for sponsorship after.

no. i have bsc in information resources management and msc in industrial and labour relations. i qualify as an information/ records manager. its listed on the csol though but i do not have any work experience.
With VETASSES, to get positive assessment you need at least one year experience which you don't have.

Aside that, no state is sponsoring that occupation except South Australia and it is on the special conditions list meaning that you must hat least 80points to be invited.

Good afternoon, sir.
Pardon my question, if it appears ignorant. My taxes are deducted from source before payment, and reflected on my payslips, do I still need tax certificate?
For authenticity sake, they do like people to attach a third party evidence like bank statement showing salary paid or tax certificate. You can add any of the two.

Meanwhile, it doesn't matter if your tax is deducted from source, you can get copy of your tax certificate from either the State inland revenue or federal inland revenue depending on where your tax is remitted.

Thank you a million times for being so kind.

just one more thing, can i present a one year bank statement showing salary and allowances paid by my employer in lieu of payslips?
Is there a problem with getting the payslips?

If you can get payslip, you only need to show first three months of starting, another 3 months mid year and the last 3 months till date.
In addition to the payslips, you can submit bank statement as a third party evidence. The bank statement can show payment when you started, mid-year and the last 6 months.

If you can lay hold on your tax certificate, include it also.

If you can't get payslip, you can use bank statement and tax certificate.

Thanks for the response.
I finished from FUTO (Federal University of Technology, Owerri) B.Eng and MSc from Kingston University London.
I was wondering if the Construction management component of the MSc will give the Job Title assessment a boast
You can submit your MSc then.. you are good to go. Should get a positive assessment. I reckon VETASSES will only go you the post MSc experience which is not bad for 10points

Deducted directly from your income before you are paid. The employer does that on behalf of ATO

Which university did you finish from?

With the five year degree, you shouldn't have problem with VETASSES.

You don't need to add your MSc so you can claim maximum points from your work experience.

No I'm not.

But my dad threatened to cut me off if I have a child out of wedlock.
You are not married yet, he is already showing you this level of rage. My dear if you think he can change, at least for now put the wedding on hold. The worst thing after hell is to be in a bad marriage and as it is, if you go ahead to marry him, you will experience hell on earth.

You are considering what people will say as if they are the one feeding you or matter to your destiny. When you learn that opinion of others is nothing but opinion, you will learn how to move forward.

Suspend the wedding if you can't cancel it outrightly. If at all you insist on marrying this guy, start reading books on how to endure a bad marriage as a coping strategy.

As for the bolded, your dad will come around with time. DOn't let the threat push you to a life of eternal regret.

This is one of the reasons we teach young ladies to abstain from pre-marital sex to avoid stories like this. He that is serious will wait to put a ring on the finger before eating from the jar.

This is a short advice for new arrivals and everyone alike. I believe everybody knows that on arrival, you register on ATO website for Tax File Number (TFN) very important else you will be charged maximum tax. You should get it in the post within 1-2 weeks.

2. Register with Medicare and you will be given a temporary card till the permanent is posted within two weeks. Go to centrelink and register for the Family Tax benefits (which includes rent assistance) if you are married with child/children and Child care benefits. Even if you are not married, still register with them. For every other benefits, there is a-104 week waiting period before being entitled to them. For further read, check human services website or google centrelink.

3. Have a plan of what you want to do on arrival. Yes, you can get any job to pay the bills initially but don't just sit on it if it is not what you want to do. No matter how long it takes, keep applying for that particular position you want, along the line you will learn how to improve the quality of your application. If you are considering a career change, don't jump in with bandwagon who will advise you to study Nursing. There are so many good courses to study aside Nursing. Let your motivation be interest and passion. Good thing is you get to pay domestic fee and can pay on installment. Make sure you have a plan when you arrive and follow it through.

4. For utilities, compare the prices of all providers and choose the best (cheapest) to save cost. You can get unlimited broadband for as low as $60/month. You can also get an android TV box on ebay for $50 upward depending, it is what I use to watch live matches and all movies. Though I got a foxtel, I am doing away with it. The box only needs an internet and you have world of entertainment before you.

5. Every state does what is called homestay program for international students. If you have a spare room in your house, you can register with the department for education in your state to host international students. South Australia pays host $250/week, I have no idea of other states. Your only obligation is to feed them and make them feel at home. If it is something you want to do, you can join the program to save cost and make little change.

6. Networking is one of the easiest ways to get job. You will be surprised how connection get people jobs without going through the rigours of job application. Network with people in your field and it could be one of the best things for you.

Will update when I have more reasonable advice..

Good evening all,

Attached are two word documents. The word document is template for writing an employment reference letter. This is what I submitted to VETASSES and I believe it can be used for other bodies as it contains all the information needed.

The 2nd document explains how to write a CV that meets the country's standard. I observed that all the CV sent to me for review contain personal discriminatory info like age, sex, religion etc. You don't include such here. Follow the instructions in the file and you will write a good CV.

It is pertinent to note that as CV is important, cover letter is much more important. A good cover letter will always land you an interview. Recruiters read your cover letter first to decide if your CV is worth looking at. Always work on your cover letter by convincingly addressing the selection criteria stated in the job advert.

Hello All,
My Previous employer (a bank) declined to address my reference letter to: TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN asking that I give a specific address.
Which address can I give that will be general as I don't want to be stuck. Currently not on 189 but might wait till I am on 189 and don't want to keep going back to the employer.

Urgent response will be appreciated.
@bolded,

What are you talking about?

The letter can be addressed to the assessing authority. You can use same letter for visa application.
