I’m currently evaluating an LLB with CES and started another application with IQAS.

Started CES 2nd week in December 2020 and it’s progressing well. Hopefully I should receive my report before the end of this month.

Started ECA with IQAS in Feb 2021.

See link below of people who successfully evaluated their LLB with CES

February 2021: https://www.nairaland.com/6081746/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/461#99321953

November 2020: https://www.nairaland.com/6081746/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/204#96161444
Why evaluating within the two bodies when one can serve the purpose? or is there something I am missing ?

Truth is that both CES and IQAS will evaluate your LLB degree as a professional degree but CES is 15 to 20weeks if you submit your transcript by email directly from your university and 25 to 30 weeks if you submit by courier...IQAS says theirs is 14weeks for any method.

At first I taught CES was faster because they said IQAS had backlog but now I have notice people get theirs even within 8weeks why others are unlucky...

Therefore with the situation of what I have assessed so far I advice you go for IQAS..

I have a pending application with CES but I want to start IQAS now because I believe I might be faster.

Wow thanks for the insight!

ICES OR CEShuh
I’m using CES and mine is not out so I don’t know how long . But iqas is about 7 months because of the backlog . Heard CES is about 4 months when I get mine I can answer with my full chest . Lol
Thanks for the correction Dear colleague, when did you applied for the evaluation?

Does CES regard LLB as a Professional certificate?

How did you forward your transcript(s) from Nigeria to CES?

Other people can also help me out with the above questions.

Thanks every one.

Please IQAS and ICES evaluation which is faster and better for a Bachelor of law (LLB) degree certificate for the purpose of Canadian immigration?

I want the evaluation body to regard the LLB certificate as a professional certification with a quick turn around.

I did try to explain why in previous post. While we both practice the common law system, there are differences in country specific law. The courses you will be asked to do will take you two academic sessions to complete.

This is not to discourage you but to prepare you for what is ahead.

Goodluck.
I thought I can only access my qualifications for immigration purposes..Then when I get to Australia I can apply to become an Australian lawyer ... Where the courses I offered in the Nigerian university are insufficient..I will take Australia law courses to complement it,then I am already in Australia!

Please advise.

Visa class 189, 190, and 491 which one is the best and easiest for migration...?

My profession (barrister and solicitor is needed in all the above mentioned visa classes)
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bemagnify: 2:59am On May 04, 2021
bellong:
1. Yes, Barristers and Solicitors are in demand everywhere including Australia. Until you complete an assessment and English test, you can't award yourself points.

2. Depending on how easy you are able to provide documentations required. However, you cannot get a positive assessment straight. You need to be called to the bar in Australia prior to having a positive assessment.
The law profession is not like science that is universal. You will likely be subject to take some Australian law courses before a positive assessment. This may take you 2 years to complete.

3. What do you want to know?
What makes you feel it will take me 2years to complete it? The Nigerian legal system is similar to that of the Australia legal system .... We offer similar courses including our practical legal training courses.

The only thing I need is to take IEIT test to meet the requirements...(although you may be correct but I strongly think for immigration purposes my qualifications only need to be assess).

Please I need clarification on this...

I am a Nigerian lawyer and wish to migrate to Australia via Visa subclass 189...I want to know if barristers are still in demand in Australia.... I have carried out my point calculations and I scored 75 points..

2. How Long will it take the assessing body (Legal Profession Admission Board ) to access my qualifications?

3. Any barrister in the house ?

Citizenship by birth
Ok.. Canada only recognize the child as its citizen and not the child's parents. Therefore even if the child was born in Canada, the parents will return home with the child...

But the child is a Canadian and the child can live in Canada wen he has attained the age of majority.

Both Academic and General can be used for Aussie Skilled migration
POF is basically required by about 2 states out of d 8 states. Most times you don’t need to present POF
Thanks however in my field (Legal practitioner) they need ielt academic before I can be called to bar in Australia...

If you have sibling points to shock Wes outcome then go ahead but I’ll advise you use IQAS to evaluate so you get the full masters/professional degree points
I only have friends there! We attended the same university and law school... I have been pleading with them to look out for job offers for me but their responses are not encouraging.

Hello Everyone.

I have two questions on WES evaluation.

Please do i need to make payment for WES before a reference number is generated for me?

Secondly i need advice on the easiest and most secured way of making payment as i don't have a dom account ?
Yes you need to make payment before you can get a reference code ... you can use a uba dollar Africard to make payment.. Walk in to any UBA branch and demand for UBA dollar Africard.. you don’t need to have a bank account with UBA to get the card. Load the card with the dollar amount you want to pay to WES... GBAM! U Are good to go!

What do you mean by cancel? If you have the funds , I advise you register with IQAS separately and apply for your transcript to be sent to them. Because it takes a longer time for your transcript to be evaluated by IQAS, you can use your WES evaluation to sit in the pool while waiting for your IQAS evaluation that will give you a masters equivalent. For WES, it's advisable to send both the degree and law school qualification so at least you get a two or more certificates option from them.
I will go with the WES. Thanks
