Nigerian banks use the official CBN rate.. therefore it is cheaper than black market rate...

Black market rate for GBP is about 730 while Official bank rate is 580 to 590...

Yes sir, but yours is still good. You will have more legal experience. I wanted to apply for the LPC but none was available for January intake, so I had to settle for LLM (general law).

Not sure what you mean by apply for exemptions - but foreign qualified typically write a QLTS exam.

If you have the same practice rights as a solicitor of England and Wales and at least two years' professional legal work experience gained either as part of your professional legal qualification or after qualification, you may be exempt from the whole of SQE1 and SQE2.

You need to have one or more of these practising rights:

1. Criminal litigation (including advising clients at the police station) 
2. Civil litigation, which is referred to as dispute resolution on the form
3. Property practice 
4. Wills and intestacy, probate administration and practice 
5. Business organisations rules and procedures

I received a mail from UKVI Pretoria about the verification of my bank statement, though it was addressed to the bank not me, however, it didn't show that I was copied in the mail, just sent directly to me. And I don't know if my bank has responded to them. Is this the normal M.O pls?

Ok . For me I will apply for an exemption when I get there. Using my over 5 years legal experience in Nigeria and the LLM to be obtain in the UK as grounds.

On my international passport page my name is written as Imoleyo instead of Imoleayo, but my degree and NYSC has Imoleyo there. My WAEC result, birth certificate and bank name is Imoleayo, will this be an issue when applying for schools? I don’t think it’s noticeable, just to be on a safer side. I had no choice than to keep using Imoleyo.

The rate is not stable, the UK visa office use oanda rate. Type on google oanda exchange rate and insert your applicable amount to get the GBP equivalent.

UBA wanted to give me heart attack.

I paid my school fees deposit using UBA as advise by the elders of this thread. That UBA deposits to UK schools reflects same day.

I paid since tuesday but I havent gotten debited. "UBA WEY EVERYBODY DA TAKE COUNT SCORES LIKE ARSENAL, DEM DA USE AM FOR SCHOOL FEES DEPOSIT AND E DA REFLECT SAME DAY, E REACH MY TURN NOW NA OVER 4 DAYS"

My village people were telling me to fund my Forex account with my school fees deposit. Lolz but God pass dem.

I received an email last night that the deposit has gone through. Funny enough my school just sent me an email few mins ago citing that I am yet to pay my school fees deposit.

I was charged at the rate of 580.8/GBP, this includes all the associated bank charges.

Abeg my I go drink chill water, thank God I am for January intake

Go and get UBa africard .. it is instant or download barter for flutterwave .

This would have been the best. Unfortunately, not all schools give out invoice. I think the applicant should request for the invoice and if not given, he/she can go ahead with the generated invoice.

Invoices can now be generated online on most schools' website. Mostly for international students. The biggest challenge with this method is you are given three days for your bank to act on the payment advice.

There is no particularity of the nature of invoice... he should message his school via email, requesting the school bank account details and how much should be paid ..

If the school respond with the above details... Then it automatically serve as invoice.. he will need to print it out and forward it to the bank.. That's all.

Is the account number from the school? If yes then you are good to go... Like I earlier said some schools provide account numbers for different currencies...

Hello everyone, I need advice urgently, so I and a friend wants to pay her school fees via bank transfer through form A and she is not sure if we did the right thing. We printed out the quote from Nottingham trent uni payment page, it says we are paying 4,255 USD to bank of New York to a beneficiary in London. But her agent is telling her she's supposed to pay in GBP and not USD. I feel the agent is one bringing up this confusion, because the money is leaving here in Naira, being received over there in dollars. Please kindly help out, advise if we are on the right track with this payment.

Some schools accept USD ... If your school accept USD and the account details has routing number...then you are on the right track.
