Dumb take. Israel seriously degrading Hamas does not mean Iran suddenly stopped supporting Hamas. Those are two completely different things.

Iran’s support for Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and other proxies shows the kind of regional network and influence Iran has built. As long as the Iranian regime remains intact and committed to that strategy, Hamas being weakened does not magically make Tehran abandon it. Iran can fund, arm and help rebuild a weakened proxy.

And that is precisely the point Raumdeuter was making. Iran’s capability and willingness to project power through proxies matters regardless of what shape Hamas happens to be in at this particular moment.
