In a war, the kiling of Hamas fighters by the IDF can also fit a broad descriptive idea of mass killing. The real issue is not the phrase itself, but whether civilians were intentionally targeted, or whether lawful military action was takin place in a brutal conflict.

Isolated incidents happens in war. Soldiers will do such a thing. No one can control that. In every single conflicts it has happened where one or two soldiers did intentional killing of innocent people.

If the intent was there, I mean the official goal of the war was to target innocent people, no one would be alive in Gaza today after years of war.
