There are small part time businesses one can do in the comfort of their own home and with their smartphone or pc. just an hour or so each day and its free. You will be surprised how many people will not take up a legitimate offer like that from a reputable long standing company ![]() |
Greatness often stems from humble beginnings GenerousLord: |
If a madman put a gun to your head and said start a small business or I go shoot, you would do it. The reason why you say you can't is because you don't want to but when things get desperate hunger will drive a wolf to look for ways to bring in food Business skills can be learnt by anyone willing. Its really about the desire Dyt: |
What do you mean by spamming tools? Do you mean tools that prevent spam or create spam...or have I got my wires crossed |
To be honest I am not completely sure, I came across it here in Nairaland very recently but you can go to their live chat and ask akagson: |
if you go direct to WordPress its just $18 but Godaddy allows monthly payments smallest being $4 TeOwl: |
There is nothing to state on the platform that SmartWeb supports Ruby on rails, I tried to get through to somebody in technical support for you but to know avail. If you are interested in SmartWeb you are going to need to speak to them direct, they have a chat facility What is the urgency with Ruby on rails anyway? yahoofak: |
Hi grandstar Get response will create squeeze pages for you Personally I use PHPLists because they are for coders who know this stuff and I can manipulate everything to my liking, that isn't always good for everybody If you need help just contact me. Ben Anu Ajose ![]() |

I have seen allsolutionsnetworks adverts around while on my marketing journeys, but I have never actually delved too deeply into it. I am assuming that somebody must be making money from this program but I am not sure who. Things you should ask before joining an affiliate program: How long have they been around? Scam programs cannot stand the test of time What is the compensation plan like? How do they pay their affiliates is important Do they have payment solutions that are suitable for us here in Nigeria? If they just say we only use PayPal that's not good enough Do they actually except Nigerians? Many Nigerian marketers spend their time trying to get around this issue but I say if they don't want to do business with us directly - find a program that does Do they have a robust support system? Do they answer problems their marketers have promptly? If they don't find a program that does. What marketing aids do they offer their affiliates? Good programs have a good selection of marketing aids to make promoting their offerings to the world easier. Is it a free or paid program? take into account the exchange rates even if the subscription is $25 per month to an American that's peanuts but that's three quarters of a months salary for 90% of Nigerians Is it a tier program? Do their affiliates get paid from the efforts of their signups? And if so to how many levels down? What is their main product like? This is important because a program can live or die by the quality of its offerings. if it doesn have one that may suggest its a pyramid scheme where you just pay to join the a program that doent offer true value - technically that's illegal. Do their offer some form of training? Good programs must because many affiliates that signup to affiliate programs are new to online marketing. If they don't offer some form of learning resource their affiliates may not be able to generate themselves or the company money The link you have entered is obviously an affiliate link which means the person who gave it to you wants you to signup underneath them. Technically there is nothing wrong with that but ask them some questions and make sure you like the answers. In terms of other programs you can check out my signature link below for a long standing reputable that accepts honest Nigerians or send me an email and I will give you a list of others I think you could try (go to my profile page for my email address). Are you talking about high yield investment programs? I used to do trade PAMM FOREX accounts but one thing you will find with this strategy is if you want greater gain you must except greater risk (of losing your money) and if you don't want to except greater risk you must except a lesser rate of return. I used to enjoy trading currency till I discovered my brokers were helping themselves to my money (long story). What I would advice you to do to avoid the possibility of getting stung is to join an affiliate program with big ticket items instead of throwing your money at investments that could potentially lose you money. You join these affiliate programs free you drive traffic to their sites you get paid (the dollar equivalent) Risk free - and as you get better and better (and you must practise to do just that) the amount of money you can make will be greater. Right now I am not comfortable, advising people on investments because, just before I stopped trading even some of the best traders where doing badly (feel sorry for their investors). Better safe then sorry No risk, you can still try if you are adamant that's what you want to do, but.... kennysbst: |
Sorry to get back so late I got banned then unbanned for putting in that Traffic Travis resource in. OK, I do have a program that can genuinely make you real money, it has developed multimillionaires in dollars some who have been around since before the beginning of this century. Lots of support, incentives and a wealth of success resources, just check out my signature link below. If you are not feeling that check out this post I did: Check out this post: https://www.nairaland.com/2288998/list-3-best-ways-use#33330074 Affiliate marketing is the best way for newbies I think because you don't actively create your own product all of that has been done for you including marketing material, your business is really traffic, lots of it, wants you have mastered that, money will flow especially in this program. The programs, if they are reputable will give you guidance as to how to market their product effectively, its in their interest to do so for two main reasons. If they teach you to market properly, you make money for them and yourself (obviously). If they don't teach you and don't make any money...you leave; they don't want that. SEO (most important) Social media (long term traffic strategy) Reputable paid traffic services (instant blast of traffic to your site) Content marketing -write about stuff you are knowledgeable on (another long term strategy) Traffic exchanges Safelist marketing Classified advertising (to a lesser extent) banner and textual adverts etc etc etc Learning to generate traffic to your sites is a very crucial skill to develop. I why do you say that?? I have been using SmartWeb for years and many of my clients sites were and are being hosted by SmartWeb Their customer service and packages have been excellent for me from the get go lawanson44: |
You are going to have to email my for the link unless you can use: www dot traffictravis dot com You will need to learn keyword researching in its basic form keyword research is where you find keywords that people use in search engines to find web pages in your niche then you embed them in your web content to boost your visibility to those search engines. When the search bot (a programme used to search the internet and crawl webpages) finds your page it deems your site more relevant to the searches needs. This is an extremely simplistic way of looking at it but that's it. The Traffic Travis tool should help you out with that. If you want to submit to many search engines and use some other search engine tools you can visit: www dot submitexpress dot com But like I have mentioned many times in Nairaland its better you get your own domain then use a free domain. You can get hosting for as little as N1,600 (www dot NameCheap dot com) or a very robust host for N2500 per year www dot SmartWeb dot com dot NG Getting noticed by search engines requires that your content is fresh, continuously updated, things your readers want to know about. When people use search engines to find info the type in particular words and phrases, if you manage to find those words and phrases and input them into your content your site will get a higher page ranking because the search engines deems your content relevant to what the searcher is looking for. This is a very simplistic way of looking at keyword research but that's basically it In reality though there are hundreds of things search engines use to determine whether a website is relevant. Check out your competitors sites see what niche keywords and key phrases they are using. lili4509: |
OK IT and programming are two different subjects which is it you actually want and what is your objectives? Ben Ajose abdulhafyz: |
I have adopted a brand new social media strategy to boost traffic to my websites and get subscribers and clients, but its new but very promising so when I have finally seen the results I will let you know how it went. Whizzcute: |
Thank you for your excellent post Danyl You post is yet another example that if people want to make a success of any business online they cannot treat it like a hobby they have to take it seriously and handle any set backs and obstacles along the way or they won't get anywhere. Danyl: |
Here is a little exercise for you: Get a sheet of paper draw three columns In column one are all the things you really love and are knowledgeable on or would really like to learn In column three are pressing problems that people really need addressing that can be sorted on the internet Then in column number two you marry the two sides together to find your ultimate blogging business. In column two is the arena you are most naturally comfortable in. Even in an area where there is saturation if you have a USP (Unique Selling Point) you can set up shop. Find an angle that makes you different from everybody else. If you don't you may come off as manufactured or even insincere. akagson: |
Due to my experience I have noted this to be the case. Have you seen any major league successful bloggers on free accounts? Ever wondered why? Go wide and research you will discover that all experts will tell you the same thing. Want to be taken seriously as a blogger? Get your own domain. Do a Google search. I have been on the internet for about 18 years and I have interacted with many experts and successful internet marketers as well as my own experience. So this is not just some blind opinion. ispeaklight: |
Actually right now I am working on a brand new social media strategy for LinkedIn, Pinterest and StumbleUpon. Its early days but it seems very promising...I will keep you posted on my results Whizzcute: |
When did that rule change? Because up until recently Payoneer were say Nigerians could not withdraw directly into their account. How current is your info and from where. I am a Payoneer user too. Do you have a link I can check out? arbitrage: |
There are a million and one ways to make a legitimate living online but the key is not the type of project but the mental attitude of the person doing it. If you treat it like a part time hobby you will see part time hobby money. Treat it like a real business opp. it is not really a destination but a journey. perseverance, learn and earn then the market will reward you for your efforts. Here is a phrase most people trying to make money online don't want to hear Rome was not built in a day. Fiverr is cool too but you can do so many other things that can compliment your Fiverr project. When people ask me about online business opportunities I usually tell them about affiliate marketing because it doesn't require you to create a product; your business with this type of program is traffic, getting as many people to sign up as possible, not rocket science but people who don't want to work to see the residual start to flow get stuck. Creating a blog with your affiliate links on it is a good idea, Talks about topic your knowledgeable on and can help people solve problems and you are no your way. just be reliable and consistent For a list of other possible online money makers check out this Nairaland post of mine: https://www.nairaland.com/2288998/list-3-best-ways-use#33330074 Remember this list is by no means extensive. If you want more clarification on any of the opportunities...you know where I am ![]() Ben Ajose If you don't treat your project like a real business you wont see real money. haychPee: |
Ok first don't go for free hosting. Going for free hosting when you are trying to create a professional image is not a good idea. Like our brothers have mentioned hosting is not expensive, even if you don't have any money now you can save up pennies until you are ready to go. I also suggest you get a bulk of good articles ready for your pro site so you can hit the floor running people want to see plenty of content that helps them solve problems - that's where you focus attention should be create articles that satisfy a need. SmartWebNG is a Nigerian company yes. Just because it is from our country doesn't mean its no good. it has over 100,000 clients and has been around for over 10 years don't be afraid. I have found that some of their packages are more robust than that of many foreign hosts I have used in the past. When you purchase the hosting you get the domain free yes, just make sure you don't accidently click on any of the addons you don't want to pay for and you select the correct hosting package (the one you want is right at the bottom). I have been penalized once or twice yes for putting links in my posts so now I don't try. If people want me to give them addresses now I just tell them to email me instead. akagson: |
When you say "take it to the next leve"l Do you mean get more traffic or do you mean making money from it? The thing is if you want to be taken seriously on the internet you need a site that is not a free domain site. People will not take you seriously, making money from your site will be harder. You can get hosting for as little as N2,500 and N1.600 year that's worth the investment. Even if you cant manage that (which I doubt) save up your pennies till you can. with out a domain that doesn't smell of "free" its tough to move forward. WordPress has a hosting package for $18 a year then you can have a responsive theme and you can put health related affiliate programs on your site, its not rocket science but it requires a little time and effort. When you have your own domain you can then start submitting it to search engines and doing SEO. The reason why I say when you have your domain is that transferring from free to paid (assuming your not using the wordpress upgrade) is messy and sometimes things get lost on the move Whizzcute: |
I think the problem also stems from the fact that people have an employees mentality. They just want to get a monthly salary, that's it. They may talk big, but deep down all they truly care about is that they have food in their belly, roof over their heads, their bills and depts are paid and the can gossip with those closest to them. Once they have that their psychology on a subconscious level actively sabotages any possibility of change. That's why I have always believed, and that your post has pointed out is that mediocrity and poverty are more a state of mind than a state of money. |
Hope the training goes well ![]() I always say you can never gain financial freedom working for somebody else. Even though Nigerians are some of the most entrepreneurial in Africa too many of us still have the employee mentality. That's why the shortage of jobs is a problem here when it shouldn't be. Create your own business then sometime down the line you can employ people. If more of us did that we wouldn't have so much of a problem and it wouldn't be so much of an employers marketing. ...Just my opinion. Ben Ajose |
Hi akagson If you want to make money from your blog don't go for free or subdomains, it will make your site seem cheap and people will not take you too seriously. There are 2 domain providers I can offer you that are not monthly payments but yearly payments just save up the little pannies then when you have enough patronize them SmartWeb dot com dot ng N2500 yearly robust platform with WordPress and everything (recommended) NameCheap dot com N1600 yearly. Even though this one is cheap I am fairly new to it so I cannot give you the low down sorry. Then when you have your hosting. You can put affiliate products on it to generate an income. But you must take the project seriously to make that happen. When you have set up your hosting contact me again and I will show you how you can make a living form you blog ![]() Ben Ajose |
