Indonesian human rights group Imparsial said an anti-death penalty coalition would present the staff of Indonesian President Joko Widodo with a list of about seven death row prisoners who had faced unfair trials and miscarriages of justice.

"It is very dangerous to carry out executions when the legal system is fragile and riddled with corruption, error, manipulation and collusion," Imparsial executive director Al Araf said.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court last week rejected an application for a case review into the case of Mr Igweh. His lawyer, Sitor Situmorang, told Fairfax Media that Supreme Court judges should try cases based on the law and not to achieve popularity or appear tough.

"We accepted Michael's case because we saw it had merit. Out of the many requests from prisoners on Nusakambangan, we only took this," Mr Sitor said.

He said Mr Igweh's conviction was based on the testimony of two alleged accomplices, Marlena and Izuchukwu Okoloaja, who died in police custody and could therefore not testify in court.

"We believe Marlena and Okoloaja gave Michael's name just so the police would stop torturing them," he said. "They were healthy when they were arrested, they had no history of illness, they all just suddenly died while in police custody. We all know what that means."

In a further ominous sign the executions could be just days away, prison visits have this week been suspended to the penal island of Nusakambangan, where the prisoners will be strapped to wooden posts and shot in a field.

Fourteen drug offenders were executed in Indonesia last year, including Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, sparking an international backlash.
However the Indonesian government insists executions are necessary to combat a so-called drugs emergency.

"The public want it to be done soon," Attorney-General Prasetyo said on Friday. "We are getting more informed now and can see how drugs have affected our younger generation. We could just lose a generation.

My opinion: whenever you give birth to abnormal children due to one reason or the other, its better you end his/her life at birth, instead of allowing him/her to grow up abnormal. What if help didn't come? Is that how he would live in solitude?

Few months ago, i walked into an exotic restaurant to have lunch. Immediately i settled down, i hurriedly placed my order (I was damn hungry - *LOL*), I just couldn't wait to eat a sumptuous meal. But things didn't go the way I'd expected it, something else happened.

After almost about 20mins of waiting for my order, 3 guys walked in to have lunch and of course placed their orders. Amazingly, almost immediately, they were served while I was still waiting for my order.

This got me a little angry and then i beckoned on the lady who took my order to inquire why I haven't been served and why the other guys who just walked in already got their foods.

Then the lady said to me politely, "Sir You Made A Very Special Order And It'll Take Time To beautifully Prepare It For You; the other guys just ordered for snacks!"

Hmmm.... that got me thinking. And that's the word for you today. I learnt a very profound lesson that day.

Sometimes in life, when you look around and see all of your friends (even junior friends) having all the good things of life and it just seems you are the only one still waiting (struggling), you feel angry and depressed. But, here's the truth; You ordered a special kind of food, not just snacks/junks.

So I want to encourage you, your order may seem delayed, friends may seem to be enjoying their meal (life) while you are still waiting, I want you to know that God (the master chef) is taking His time to prepare a special delicacy for you and when you are finally served, it's gonna be so sumptuous.

Here's my word for you; Wait just a little longer, Your MEAL is almost ready!

Sorry for d loss of your dog bro. Sounds like it contacted anthrax recently. The symptoms are so alike. Most vet doctore just assume, what does it cost them to go run blood test on the dog afterall, its their job. My advice: try and do a postmortem. If its anthrax, pls run with your two legs to an hospital to get checked. Anthrax is zoonotic and u may have probably touched d blood. God bless you

Nicely written, searchcorp. It baffles me on nairaland how guys look at a picture of a dog and just conclude its not pure. The lot of people here know close to nothing about genetics, they only judge from how it looks (phenotypic ratio) and that is just sad. U know nothing about the genetic composition of the dog u just saw doesnt make u conclude straight away. It could be pure, while u r thinking its not. Phenotype = Genetic properties+Environment. When an animal is bred in an environment that its not its natural habitat (mostly temperate region), the phenotypic conformation may change a bit. This does not in anyway affect or reduce the genetic properties of the dog. This can be confirmed if u conduct DNA tests or Protein Loci analysis. Lets stop attempting to spoil other people's business either on purpose or not. U do not just see someone's dog picture up for sale and start degrading it for not being pure just because it doesnt please your eyes or match the phenotypic opinion your eyes are accustomed to on google (when you know nothing about the genetic composition).
