nasoeb: Shurt up jare all these silly guess work. The truth is everyone must rise up to fight these fulanis. What is igbo this igbo that, yoruba this and that, must everything be about igbo and yoruba. Both tribes always disgracing themselves. Why is it that you dont hear other tribes always quick to make noise. Last time I checked, fulanis have been killing igbos in igboland (enugu, imo) and killing yorubas in almost all their states and all they could do is cry out to government for help, yet igbos and yorubas will be first to come online and boost rubbissh. The yorubas and igbos need to stop this psychological welfare of trying to make the other believe you are strongest by quick to point out the other's weakness. The igbos, yorubas, Ijaws, efik, urhobos, itsekiris, benoid, and those in mid belt should all rise up and contain/destroy this fulanis in all our various regions even the hausa should join us, that way, they will be the ones calling for peace for fear of dividing this country which means they the fulanis will lose the power of aso rock Thank you jare. |

Patrioticman007: Nigeria is still suffering from the effects of evil decisions made by egocentric IGBO'S. But they want to transfer the blames on Fulani tribe. The first political assassination of Northern Nigeria leaders destroyed all.
On a January 15, 1966, a group of young military officers staged a coup, killing off political leaders.
The military officers were all from the South of the country.
All but one of the leaders of the coup were Igbo:
Maj. Kaduna Nzeogwu (Igbo), Maj. Emmanuel Ifeajuna (Igbo) Maj. Timothy Onwuatuegwu (Igbo), Maj. Chris Anuforo (Igbo), Maj. Don Okafor (Igbo), Maj. Adewale Ademoyega (Yoruba), Maj. Humphrey Chukwuka (Igbo), Capt. Emmanuel Nwobosi (Igbo), Capt. Ben Gbulie (Igbo) Capt. Ogbu Oji (Igbo) These self-styled revolutionaries put out that they were out to root out corrupt politicians. Somehow their idea of the corrupt seemed to had an ethnic colouration and Christianization of Nigeria agenda.
All the major victims of the coup were mainly of the Northern Region or their Southern allies. The Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa , of Northern extraction and the Premier of the Northern Region Ahmadu Bello, were killed. Ladoke Akintola, the Premier of the Western Region, an ally of the Ahmadu Bello, was killed. Somehow the Premier of the Eastern Region and the President of the country, Nnamdi Azikiwe, both Igbo were spared.
The casualties also included the most senior military officer from the north, Brig. Mailamari, senior officers from the West but curiously none from the Eastern Igbo region.
The casualities list -
Brig. Samuel Ademulegun, (West) Brig. Zakariya Maimalari, (North); Col. Ralph Shodeinde, (West); Col. Kur Mohammed (North); Lt. Col. Abogo Largema,(North); Lt. Col. James Pam,(North); Lt. Col. Arthur Unegbe, (East); - the only Igbo, the Quartermaster of the Army who refuse to co-operate. Sergeant Daramola Oyegoke,(West); PC Yohana Garkawa,(North) Lance Corporal Musa Nimzo, (North) (North); PC Akpan Anduka (East). The coup has therefore since been dubbed ‘the Igbo coup’.
The coup failed but the head of the most senior military officer became Head of State. He was General Aguiyi Ironsi. He was Igbo. Much was expected of him especially to reassure the North and make moves that will cast away fears of Southern (Igbo?) domination.
However Karma caught up with them, during the Civil war and the marginalization they are experiencing now is the direct antitheses of seizing power from North by killing its leaders. Igbo's will never be president in Nigeria. Ruga or no Ruga. A Fulani is your president. Igbo's always play the victims card, forgetting that History can never be changed. They are happy Fulani are been told to leave their lands, backs North........what is good for the goose is good for the gander , Igbo's will have to leave the North once the Fulani start migrating back to North. Its like head is paining you abi? Take sniperdol |

The media has finally won on spreading fake news affiliating all attacks to herdsmen. I pray the country divides that's when we'll know the importance of one another because it seems the North are not important the way you insults them.
I blame Buhari for not doing enough as the commander in chief I dare you to travel along gbogon - oshogbo express way by 7pm and lets see if you have 2 heads. Kindly try it and come to this forum to inform us if you were attacked or kidnapped and by who. Let us know if by yoruba, Evans, igbo, or Fulani herdsmen. |

Topsodesupport: It is worthy of note that this is the 60th kidnapping INCIDENT offshore Nigeria (Gulf of Guinea) in 2019 alone, with hundreds of people kidnapped. Even locals are kidnapped along with the expats. Mighty, a popular OIM just got released recently. About 15-20 of these incidents happened offshore Lagos Only 2 groups claim responsibility for these crimes, and they are both in the Niger Delta region. So all drilling rigs MUST now spend tens of thousands of dollars to hire naval ships to protect EACH of them.
Expats don't bother staying in PH anymore. From rig to the airport to Lagos or Amsterdam, then off to their country. How do you expect Niger Delta to develop with this madness?
Kidnappings in the SS and SE NEVER make it to mainstream media, cos the criminals are smart and warn victims NEVER to put it online.
SE roads are worse death traps than anywhere else in Nigeria, in terms of criminal activities. They themselves kill themselves in their thirst for wealth, yet they scream marginalization the most.
Fix up, Ndo
Finally found a place to pour this rant. When I find the kidnapping map, I'll add it to this post. So I hear oh. My paddy was kidnapped in pH 2 years ago. Bros now goes to work from lekki. |

laudate: The rot in Nigeria Airways started during the 2nd Republic. Before that, Nigeria Airways was doing rather well.
What happened after that? The politicians connived with some of the airline's unscrupulous staff, to mismanage the firm.
A lot of the gossip that emanated from that era which you recycled here, were grossly exaggerated, and most of it took place during the 2nd Republic. I still recall family and friends travelling in 1992, on first class tickets via Nigeria Airways, and getting good seats, on a smooth flight.
Nobody is denying that Nigeria Airways did not deteriorate, and ended up with huge debts before it was finally shut down, but at a certain period before things went downhill for the airline, it was run by professionals, during the era of Gowon up till when OBJ became military head of state. And it was profitable during that era.
I still maintain that airports in many parts of the world are run by public officials, employed by govt. And their airports work! It is just our own people that have refused to do things properly. I concur with all you have written. It is not as if Nigerians cannot run things but my point is that when it involves civil servants and government, the attitude to work diminishes. There is this thing of it not being my father's work. I remember when on aviation professional tried to reawaken the Nigeria airways with 2 leased aircrafts in 1995, an ex captain. I even flew with them stress-free. But because the then minister of aviation prefared to open a new national airline in which she had interest, she frustrated the captain. How, she put a law that all ticket sales and revenue must me paid into aviation ministry account in Abuja. From there the airline will have to make request for running cost. Ofcourse that killed the airline despite all the captains effort. My point is that maybe if you get professionals like the elumelus, the Jim ovias, the adeyemis etc to run such places. People that have set up and successfully ran businesses in organized fashion without interference from civil servants and government, those places will work. Are you telling me that if the minister ask for 10 first class tickets from the airline, the civil servant wount oblige? |

laudate: Oga, MMIA was well run from the 80s to the 90s. I grew up and still met old newspaper reports that had been carefully preserved in our library, which covered events of that era.
MMIA was built after the design of Schiphol airport in Amsterdam. Please ask thcose who worked in the aviation industry during that era, and stop fueling your mind with the misinformation and hype that passes for fact, being peddled by the indomie generation of these days.
I had uncles who were pilots in the days when Nigeria Airways had the largest operational fleet, in West Africa. So I got first hand info from them, and also had the privilege to read their written reports.
The number of privately run airports in Europe are still much fewer than the number of publicly owned and run airports, located in different parts of the world, which are efficient and we'll maintained. Do the math.
Public enterprises were well run in the past. The rot started at some point in the mid-90s upwards. We all need to go back and study what went wrong, and fix it.
I do not deny that ShopRite car parks are well run, but public car parks can also be well run, if the right pegs are put in the right holes, and transparency as well as accountability us enforced! OK. I knew when that airport was being built. Dad had a merc 450slc coup and the runway was the best place to floor your car. I started flying through MMIA in1979. British Calidornia to UK as a kid so I saw it all. First hand. I assure you that the first few months was because the airport was new. It immediately started detiorating. Nigeria airways initially was doing fine along with the first privately run international airline owned by chief victor Vanni until corruption and Nigerian mentality killed them all. Nigeria airways you will buy first class ticket on our 747 jets. The pilot will refuse you climbing upstairs to the first class because he has kept his girl friends there. You will book flight but on your return journey you will be stranded abroad because no money to fuel the aircraft. Passengers have to contribute. Nigeria airways officials will buy staff tickets for 5% the normal cost. Government officials will refuse to pay or delay flights as a big man is comming. Bros I saw it all personally.

Apprentice wey mumu! Must everything for you be igbo or yoruba? There is fire on the mountain in the south of Nigeria with insecurity from gbogon to oshogbo, to ore Benin expressway, to igbokoda, ife etc and it is getting worse day by day. I have a friend's father's burial to attend in ilesha but cannot go to pay my last respects because of fear of attack/kidnapping on that road. As I wrote earlier the people are kidnapping 30-40 people at once. In bulk. Taking them to settlements they have in the bushes. Cows will not be profitable for them again as kidnapping is more lucrative. They are tasting millions and will invite their brothers from other countries to come to the "promised land" ie South Nigeria. As you know we do not have a culture of violence, they do! Gandollaar: Yes I am angry because of the insecurities in the land. No one is safe. Even those in their remote villages are not. Is it poverty that drives fulani herdsmen to kill people people in their farms? Is it poverty that made them raze down entire communities in enugu, Imo, abia, eboyin, Delta, Ondo, Oyo, ekiti and the whole of middle belt because they want to forcefully take their lands for grazing?
Is it poverty that empowered all the northern groups issuing threats and ultimatums while dss looks away? Is it poverty that enabled dss to invite the massob leader who asked Igbos to protect themselves while romancing all the myetti Allah group and other northern groups who issued threats to Nigerians?
Yes, it was poverty that made myetti Allah take responsibility openly for some of these crimes while the government look away?
Obviously, poverty is the reason why you can't reason rationally but my friend listen, I'm not poor and I'm not hungry, so our reasoning will always be different. Have you yourself checked the bush and seen the cows? https://www.nairaland.com/5300020/herdsmen-convert-ondo-forest-reserve#80243521100% of survivors of attacks and kidnappings on the shagamu-benin, gbogon-oshogbo, kaduna-abuja roads have testified that it was armed Fulani that attacked them. The oau lecturer attacked recently said it was Fulani. There is no point being politically correct. This issue is getting out of hand and if it is not stopped now it will be too late in few months. My reason for saying this is that these herdsmen have started tasting millions from kidnapping and they are seeing that it is more profitable than rearing cows. It has gotten to the stage the kidnap in "bulk". 30-40 people at once! The more the merrier. They will inform their colleagues all over Africa that southern Nigeria is a land flowing with "milk and honey" and more will come as we are soft targets to the herdsmen since we do not have a culture of violence over here. |

WHERE WERE THE COWS?
I asked a similar question as BAT yet nobody was able to give me a tangible answer yet they expect me to point accusing fingers at herdsmen? Like BAT said, it will be wrong to stigmatize any person or persons especially in this situation where the perpetrators are yet to be identified.
I sincerely hope the security operatives up their game and put an end to all these insecurity menace once and for all. Where is the cow? Have you checked in the bush? Or do you expect them to take the cows along while committing banditry? |
