[s] vyke2008: My take.... a criminal act was committed against you and you never reported to the appropriate authorities... several years later, without shame as a married woman you never cared what the aftermath would be on your family, and that of the accused.... you just came out to social media and start wailing as if the act was done last night...
The question is what triggered the sudden burst? family issues? number busy from the alleged perpetrator? Folks, there's more to this that she is not telling... however, bye and large, the truth always prevails.
If she is a lover of God and a Believer she claimed to be, why not leave judgement to God and let the house of God be at peace... because many will lose their faith because of her proclamation. Souls would be lost! then as a child of God, she didn't think through all the pros and cons of her actions??
So even if the Pastor is guilty as she alleged, does she think Heaven is happy with her actions... in putting the church on for castigation!, NO!!! No matter what transpired between the two of them, of course something may have happened, i strongly believe she didn't paint the whole picture.
Something may have led the pastor'e action or inaction, "for every action, there's a reaction" if the whole truth is painted, she will get even more of the blame... Her actions towards the pastor may have triggered biology/chemistry in-between... then in the end... after so many years... he is happily married and you are also... why not move on for the sake of Christ, and the possible stigma on both families, as well as the dent on the house of God... and you are claiming to be a christian... people are busy wasting data and hailing you... pride goes before a fall... whatever we do... let's think it through and be rational and not sentimental! God is love, God is judgement.... Not the court, not the social media!
Someone that has value and respect for the family, the body of Christ, the church won't do what she is doing! People just stay in the church and behave worldly? Whether the pastor committed the crime or not is not the point. The point is handling things like children of God, as we all claim to be.
Report to the congregational authority, and let the church handle it. Unless of course there is more to it!
Let's see how it ends!
And for the record, I'm not a member of COZA... I'm just a concerned christian watching the house of God in the verge of collapse! Yet, people are protesting with their meaningful time!
***RUGA is knocking on our doors, how many of those protesters has hit the street of Nigeria? None! The Fulanis are prepping to plant their roots all over the country, and we don't see a need to protest!!! The country is full of mediocre!
May God help us all!
Cheers! [/s] |

Busola is just the catalyst Biodun needs to blow "big time" in this country
The same Nigerians that wore white Polos to protest will still be the same ones to bury Timi's career
Instead of going to a court to get justice, you came to instagram and twitter to shout, forgetting that just as people are using Biodun's past to judge him, they'll use yours to judge you too
We will soon start seeing men that will come forward to say they have had consensual sex with Busola and how she's a nympho
Go court, you no gree... [/s] |

Bagehot: The Lekki problem is a Nigerian one - ignoring nature to foolishly urbanize endlessly. The entire Lekki-Ajah landscape is what you can a "Wet Land" - nature's natural defenses against flooding. Before environmentally ignorant Lagosians started plastering concrete everywhere, what woud have happened is that the land would have absorbed the floods into the soil.
Even worse the urbanization of that area has been largely haphazard - asides Lekki Phase 1 (which has now been bastardized), every other part of that area is unplanned - Ikate, Alpha beach, Osapa etc. Ideally, there should have been centralized infrastructure like storm-drains, and sewage-pipes - but nothing!!! Add this to the low-level of ground-water, and the implication here is that these people are literally drinking and bathing in their own shit - why else do you think every house in that axis has an expensive water filtration system?
Anyone who lives close to Alpha beach knows the ocean has been closing in every freaking year!!! And yet people are still rushing to put up expensive real-estate, and when things like this happen, everyone blames the government.
The government is VERY corrupt - YES!!! But Lagosians need to stop testing nature, cos as climate change exacerbates, these things would get much worse. 100/100 Brilliant and Detailed write up you have there. I must commend your insight. But I disagree with your first sentence with regards to the fact that Humans have been encroaching on natures defences. Whats playing in Lagos plays in other major coastal cities of the world but this countries have planned channels to reduce the impact of heavy downpour and thats where Lagos got it all wrong. Urban planning! |

livebyday: I did address it maybe not clearly enough for that I apologise.
Here is what i.mean
With the states directly controlling their resources they can address things like erosion, flooding and other infrastructural engineering needs obviously.
And with the states directly controlling their resources the governors can be held accountable.
Remember they have been saying that government didn't approve that part or the budget or they claim as usual that it's a federal road so they can't do anything. This excuse has been.used for decades by corrupt politicians.
Trust me when I say a decentralized government with resource control will actually force all.pokitcians seeking government office.to sit up
For example imagine a governor in yobe knows no federal allocation is coming , who must look within to create wealth, which would.imvolve , mining, agriculture and such if one isn't a sound.economical strategist one would see this task as daunting and trust me Nigeria would not have so many political.parties running during the elections anymore
Only state with natural resources would be hotly contested
But at the end resource control would give birth to a new generation of Nigerian leaders who are all.educated and think outside the box
The present system of government will not do this I am an a chronic supporter of resource control and all your points are spot-on. Why I digressed was that you should be aware that flooding is bound in coastal cities when their is an heavy downpour. Though it can be minimised to an extent, but when consistent heavy down pour comes to play, close to nothing can be done. The whole channel is dependent on the sea level. |

livebyday: Here's my thinking
If a state controls it's resources , then it knows best where to allocate it , there won't be this thing of getting federal approvals to fell structures that block certain path ways for water
One can build state run power plants , redesign entire local governments and push for better security structure within the state
Now each state would be forced to focus on building infrastructure that addresses their needs
For instance why would the governor of Niger state build a diamond conservatory when there are not diamonds in niger state ?
The federal uses funds as it pleases ? Another example is this ruga thing, it's not bad in a sane country but why build it outside regions where cattle rearing isn't their staple
A decentralized government would remove the inconsistency in the country
If my state enforces Sharia law that means I can't have alcohol companies there in hence they won't pay me taxes
As it stands Nigeria uses funds raised in certain states to fund other states whose governor do nothing
Look at Bornu, that state has been comatose and the governor receives federal allocation monthly for doing nothing
Half his citizens are in IDP camps , he doesn't bother as he believes it's the federals job to stop bokoharam
A decentralized government would make the politicians sit up
Hence each state will use only what they can.genrrate within and receive a token from the little repatriated to the central purse monthly by the states Just my two cents You are shifting goal post. With regards to topic, I repeat again. "So what great intentions can combat this seasonal flooding? Cos I dont see where resource control comes into play with regards to subject matter . Or you impling resource control can stop this seasonal flooding?" |
