slimmy05: Relax and apply for Msc Chemistry, you need funding for this course cos there is no summer break for you to hustle as you'll ways be in the lab. It's good you package yourself and shoot for MSc Chemistry. Apply to minimum of 3 schools that you at least have a 60/70% chance of funding. Save that visa fee for applications. I will go with your advice slimmy. To be honest with you my uncle cannot fund my whole pharmacy program,I was hoping on work to help assist. If u had known pharmacy was this expensive I wouldn't have bothered. I will just relax and apply for masters in 3 schools like you said. Also when do you advice I apply for masters...this spring or fall next year? And since and changing to masters, will the visa officers ask me why? |

Good day house..... This is benjamin, remember I was denied Visa twice to study pharmacy and I was told by Gurus in the house here to apply for masters since am a graduate or get scholarships to study pharmacy, that it is difficult to convince visa officers how I will pay for my fees considering US citizens studying pharmacy piles up debts everywhere. If you remember my previous interview was denied due to funding because during the interview the V0 was satisfied with me but as soon as he saw my bank statement he denied me visa . My school fees is 6 million and my previous bank statement is 8 million. Now am planning to go for the 3rd time But my sponsor just brought a recent statement which is 11 million and pharmacy requires pre pharmacy before pharmacy school, which means I will be staying a total of 6 years. My question is this since my sponsor could not tender sufficient bank statement, maybe around 30 to cover my tuition. Should I just forget about going for a third time because I have been denied twice and I was denied just last month. Since am a graduate of chemistry,is it better I apply for masters in chemistry. I don't want to waste money paying visa fees and traveling and get denied. I believe in God but a times we have to be realistic and learn from failures. Please I need advice GURUS in the house. |

Joromi1: I never said late marriage is the best, neither am I disturbed that some people married early. My point is clear.....most early marriages are influenced by parents mainly because they want to see their grandkids, but they use the context of "everything will be done in time and u won't have to struggle in ur old age" to deceive us in the world we live today you need financial stability for any marriage to survive. So whether you are 25 or 30 it's irrelevant,if you feel you are matured enough to handle the challenges that comes with marriage plus the financially ability to take care of the family... then Go ahead.#ADVICE commit your marriage into God's hands and strive to honor your marital vows. hardeyswaggz: gurus, from what i have read so far, i can see that one of the supporting documents at the embassy includes bank statement of my sponsor. i initially wanted to go with a reference letter from the bank only. thanks to u guys. But my questions are>>>>
1. from when do i start printing the statements of accounts, i only made use of march SOA for my admission and ma interview is this month.?
2. i am going for an undergraduate course tho i have a degree already, kindly give me insights on how to tackle this.
3. my school never requested for any standard examination like TOEFL, SAT etc whatsoever so i didnt even bother doing one. i am really worried as many pple i have read about here had these results one way or the other.
pls help...... I also think for your questions regarding going for a second degree...as long as it is a different course from your first degree,I don't see any problem. Anybody can decide to study another degree in a different course maybe a bit related. Just have a reason why you want to study the course. |

pls help...... You have to tell the V0 it was waived for you maybe because you had a high GPA or something. I was part of US embassy student online chat and someone asked if standardized test are compulsory at the embassy, the V0 answered and said test scores are determined by schools not the embassy and that each school has their own requirements, she also stated each applicant case is different and judged on their own merit,so no one document guarantees visa, just be confident, have your bank statement and 1-20 and know the proper answres to questions and lastly Put God first in everything you do. Good luck. Amen |

Spidyy: Thanks for the reply but "it does matter attitude"? Everything matters until one stops breathing, if it didn't matter ,I wont be on this thread digging up useful & reasonable advice.
No,one said a visa is a right and I know it doesn't make you admissible on entry. Its also not a do or die affair for some people (me). A refusal only deters your course or plan but doesn't take it away.
Anyways,
I would agree to some extent you are correct, I chose it because it didn't require GRE doesn't mean I didn't apply to others that required a GRE score. I was awarded a $3000 scholarship ,well, I was grateful, I didn't expect it.
I thought Uni of Bridgeport is a better school than most? I took neither TOEFL nor IELTS nor GRE. However, I submitted my BSc. from a British University with second class upper honors to merit that scholarship I think.
Maybe I'll write the GRE then. whoever you are I love your view about life....going to US to study is not a do or die affair, just give your best and pray to God to favour you...but life does not depend on your visa,it's always good to have a plan B incase there are disappointments. Going to the US does not determine if you will succeed or not. |

DanjaNinja: I don't agree with you. What really matters is your profile, how well you present yourself and the grace of God. I know countless people on this thread who have had their Visa's approved yet were not sponsored by their biological parents. I also know countless people on this thread whose "Dad" was the sponsor yet were denied visas. Like I previously said, its your profile that matters - did u take any standardized test? (+1) How well can u explain ur choice of school and course? (+1) Can u articulately explain your relationship with your sponsor, sponsor's source of income n reason sponsor is sponsoring you? (+1)
That said, even with a well packaged profile, you could get denied (vo's could be funny @ times) but the odds are in your favour. This is where the grace of God comes in cos with prayers, all things are possible.
Hope I have convinced u as well as allayed the fears of all those with non biological parents as sponsors that having a non sponsor does not in any way affect your chances of getting a visa? indeed you are correct....I had the opportunity to be part of the US embassy facebook online chat chat which was conducted by vice consular Emily at Abuja embassy and she pointed out what they look for during interviews...they want to know about the student, why you choose a particular school, why you choose a particular course, how you choose the school and how you will fund your education. She also added that consular officers are not required to check any documents that they base their decision solely on the interview and they only check for documents when they have doubts in other to determine your eligibility. So you are correct. All we need do is ask for god's grace, have a good profile and answer questions with confidence. Thanks |
