I agree, it's not just a longevity stat, at least not generally. It's an incredible feat. But in the GOAT debate, we will scrutinize. cheesy grin
steady986:
Kareem is considered the GOAT by many. But that's not even my point. I'm saying you can't call it a longevity stat when you have other all-time greats who didn't do it despite playing 20 years.
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 4:39pm On May 25, 2023
Are any of the two being considered as GOAT?
steady986:
More seasons than who, Kobe and Malone?
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 1:50pm On May 24, 2023
Again you read to reply. You never learn. I never said playing longer is detrimental to one's career. What you are doing here is that in your comparison, you are bringing up arguments that are directly related to the fact that he has played for much longer. The number of years you play can be directly affected by a lot of factors beyond your control, so I am not accepting that as a high-end point. Bringing the argument of points is only fair if you consider averages per game. And stop giving me more ammunition. cheesy grin. If you are in your prime for 19 years, you should be winning a lot more than others. If you are not winning, then perhaps your prime is probably overrated in comparison to some.
steady986:
So are you insinuating that it is a negative to play more years in the NBA? How is playing 20 years instead of 15 detrimental to one's career? LeBron should score points for that, don't you think? And these are not just long years, they are long prime years. Lebron has been in his prime for 19 years basically. He defeated father time.
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 11:08am On May 24, 2023
Learn Leb-Old fan. If you give me 50 years too I guarantee I will reach that total. cheesy grin. It's quite dumb to compare raw points, which is definitely a function of time, for two players that played different lengths of time. This is a more useful argument, let's compare points per game at least for players who have played 10 years or more. Nobody cares about the all-round player. What does that even mean? We look at the results first. I would rather be extraordinary in two out of five things, and play with others who are fairly proficient than seek to be proficient in all, as long as the former leads to more success. Learn Leb-Old fan. Learn.

steady986:
Shut up. LeBron has both scoring title and an assist title, to prove he's the better all round player than MJ. Not to even mention that he holds the all-time scoring record. MJ has no case here my boy.
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 10:51pm On May 23, 2023
Shut up. I have told you this Leb-Old fan. This is a useless argument. He has 10 scoring titles. Period. There's no way to prove it can't happen in this era. You never learn. Alternatively, you can wait until we are able to travel to other universes. cheesy grin
steady986:
Lol. I've always said it that MJ is not winning 10 scoring titles in this era. If you doubt me then you're intentionally obtuse or you don't know basketball
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 11:36am On May 23, 2023
Wow wow wow. Hate him or Love him, Leb-Old is in a class of his own. He completed a sweep cycle. Got swept as a child. Got swept as an adult. Got swept as an old man. Who else can do this but Leb-Old. A king in his own right. All hail the King.
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 4:07am On May 21, 2023
It would be disgraceful to get swept in a conference finals. Not my GOAT. cheesy grin

Jokic's 3 point shot is quite awkward but it still goes in. Team it's the result that matters. cheesy grin. Making Lebron's threes useless.

You too like trouble. You don komot Baba from your moniker. cheesy grin. Na only Barca fans and those obsessed with Tik-tok dey overrate Pep. I no even like Mou-style self. Strategy na strategy. If the footballing bodies no like am make them outlaw that strategy.
andrew444:
Mourinho fans una don come out from una hole ?

The fact remains pep is rated higher than mou at the footballing world and there is nothing you all can do grin
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by benji93: 12:02pm On May 20, 2023
You are asking the wrong person this question. Why would you do that? Why Oga? Good luck. cheesy grin
Kog45:
Pls I need sincere answer, can Josep Guardiola win seria A with the same Roma team.

Mind you I respect Pep and love his tactics than Mourinho but do we need to turn football to court for easy discourse.

Tactically Pep is the best but Mourinho is a real fighter when it comes to the game.

I read a article on Pep and Mourinho and what you guys were saying not different from what Pulse sports said about the duo.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by benji93:
Excuses upon excuses. He won. Very simple. Tik-Tok , oh sorry Tiki-Taka is so great yet Guardiola could only manage 2 finals in 12 years, despite inheriting great teams and being given the financial freedom to spend. Nonsense.
TheGoodJoe:

It was easy in the past with many coaches adopting possessive-offensive brands of play, the park bus strategy is unsustainable and will lead Mourinho further down the ladder.

He can't win league titles multiple times.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by benji93:
Apologies to all concerned. cheesy grin. One of the dumbest takes is sticking a coach for packing the bus. I don't like Mou's style. In fact i didn't like him at Man Utd, but guess what he's had the most success following Sir Alex. I respect him. It's his strategy. Devise a strategy to beat him. He has repeatedly won with it. We measure a coach by their success. Very simple.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by benji93: 10:21pm On May 19, 2023
He transform German football? Sometimes I wonder if we are talking about the same football. it seems you don't understand what impactful means. Impactful as far as sports is concerned effectively means I made you achieve what you did not previously achieve. Bayern dominated their league before Guardiola, all he did was continue that tradition. As I have told you severally, learn to use words appropriately. cheesy grin.
TheGoodJoe:

How many Champions League did Alex Ferguson win all his life? 2. Guardiola has won two.

So when you guys talk this champions league, it is funny. With time, Guardiola will win more of them. Everyone, including you knows that.

Does not change Guardiola's impact in Bayern and how he transformed German football.

Bayern Munich will not call Mourinho.

Was it a three-day visit or not? cheesy grin
TheGoodJoe:

Argue with Zidane. Zidane said he learnt a lot, you are telling Zidane, no you did not learn anything.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by benji93: 8:41pm On May 19, 2023
If you didn't know better you would think Zidane was an assistant coach to Guardiola for at least a year, whereas he was only there for a three-day visit alongside other French coaches. When he was interviewed he hailed the top management of the club first, which means he admired the organization. Zidane did not learn anything from Guardiola. If I can learn enough from someone in three days to win three consecutive CL, how many do you think that someone should have? cheesy grin
TheGoodJoe:

Actually, Zidane went to Bayern Munich to learn from Guardiola before his success in the Champions league. Who did Mourinho help? undecided
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 3:50pm On May 19, 2023
Le-Old fans are unbelievable. cheesy grin Such is life. You must find a way to look away from the realities. cheesy grin
Maynmann:
I totally agree with the last part, i think loosing this game was not probably that bad, we now know the match up and most of their tactics, after trailing over 20 points we only lost by 6, i am sure if we had a good start(starting rui) we would have won.
We winning the next 3 games!

And AD scoring 40 seems so easy, nuggets paint is easy and no one can guard him, he can keep dropping that everynight.
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 3:47pm On May 19, 2023
Ah, calm down. He never reach this one now. cheesy grin
Roland17:
If this Meercat loses tonight, he shouldn't bother traveling to Miami. He finds creative ways to get in the way of the team. How Pritchard got minutes ahead of G. Williams is beyond me. Don't get me wrong, I am a strong advocate for Pritchard but he did not even make a shot attempt and was targeted by the Heat every time he was on the court which cost us valuable points. G. Williams is a better defender and can also knock down the corner 3 ball. The annoying part of it all is his useless ego on the podium but of course my darling Boston Media gave it to him "woto woto" after the game 1 loss.

They have started again. 40-year-old Lebron by himself beat GSW. Is there anything impossible for Le-Old fans? Such shameless people. cheesy grin. The last time i checked GSW wasn't in that caption. Let me remind you again, the caption suggests that, whether Lebron is 45 years old doesn't matter, if he loses to Jokic and the Nuggets. it goes on the record forever.

Judgement no be one way. Once you require us to recognize your feats late in your career, we are allowed to push enter express if you fail.

Poor wrinkly Le-Old fans. grin

Common. You may never be able to capture all of them. 70/80% is good enough. Some of those slipping through the crack should be normal.

iLoveYouToo:
Most great players got overlooked in the draft. I watched Giannis get drafted and watched his first season too, he was basic. He just went to sleep one day and came out a different player
