But this Poseiro just start and his career is already shaping like the tail end of Rohr's career as the head coach of the Super Eagles. cheesy grin. Is there any way to dissolve NFF without attracting a ban /sanction? Since our triumph in 2013, SE has only been able to manage 3rd place once. Person no suppose dey this unlucky now. Is there a way around this problem, perhaps a clause can be included in their regulation that naturally allows for the NFF board to be dissolved and reconstituted if there's no significant amount of progress across the national teams over a fixed period of time. I no know why i dey even talk like the ministry of sports and its parastatals no dey complicit in this peculiar mess. cheesy grin

You are such an unbelievable somebody. cheesy grin. It's good you don't have the power to turn back the hands of time. You also clearly have short-term memory. Because if you don't you would remember it was not too long ago we were talking about Draymond being average at best at the 2022 NBA finals. Anything to help the legacy of Lebron I guess.
steady986:
You people underrate Dray too much and it wants to make me mad. But I'll say this, without Dray, the Warriors would have only 2 championships. I would have said 0 but the KD Warriors were just too stacked to feel the absence of Dray. Dray is the engine of that team and Kerr knows it. That's why he keeps getting away with all the atrocities he's been committing.

It's welcome. A mild form of hatred rooted in competition is welcome. Padi, padi too much. As the Yoruba people dey talk Oju ogun lati n mo akoni. Make u no make noise come collect better trashing. That being said, this Warriors is a very unpredictable team. The standard deviation of their success is very large. They may just run over everybody, and they may not last. They have issues I thought they would resolve by the all-star break, alas these issues plague most of the western conference, so there's still some hope. This is a team whose players turn to spectators when Curry is in the line-up. He may cook, but personally, it doesn't impress me, he's past that level. Leave that to the Jokics, Embiids, Doncics of this world. It has to translate to wins. He has to be more focused on maximizing his prime before nature catches up. Na winner I dey back no be to dey collect stats up and down like some people. cheesy grin
Roland17:
Personally, I love the the fact that the Grizzlies and Warriors hate each other, we need more of these in the league. Can you imagine what a Warriors vs Grizzlies series would look like again? Not necessarily about the results but the intensity.
I miss watching buildup to series where both teams genuinely hate each other and will go hard before during and after the game. I don’t want to watch a live fest during games, especially during the post seasons
With that being said, the Grizzlies need to scratch the surface, they are not anywhere remotely close to the Warriors. The Warriors are a team I respect for what they have achieved!
Politics › Re: Ask Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV) Any Question About His Lagos Governorship Bid by benji93: 3:36pm On Mar 09, 2023
I am sorry Mr, this is a rather generic answer that anyone can suggest. A high school graduate may be able to come up with this.

How do you intend to achieve power generation and transmission in Lagos, independent of Nigeria?

What combination of methods do you hope to use? How do you hope to finance it? Bear in mind this is not the only thing you are promising to do.

I am assuming you intend to achieve some success in a term if given. What do you expect to have achieved by the end of the first term?

Please provide a more comprehensive answer.
GRVLagos:
1. A key part of my administration is independent transmission and generation of power in Lagos

2. Parts of ogun state don't need to join lagos, improvement of transport links and partnership with the federal and ogun state governments can make this happen, in the end we are all nigerians and plans that benefit us all. there's alot of land in badagry and other areas for this to work to build residential areas. What needs to be done is to spread out development and urbanisation. Also proper humane mass housing with availability to alot of people will be a priority.

Ah, wetin dey pain me be say you seem to believe in this stuff. You are actually seriously making this point. cheesy grin
TheGoodJoe:

The problem is you failed to understand the point. Bernardo Silva plays multiple roles for City, including as a forward, creative midfielder and sometimes purely hugging the wings.

However, in some games, Guardiola deploys him as a central midfielder.

Onyedika's style of play, is similar to the way Bernardo Silva plays the central midfield role. Meaning, he hugs the ball at a high frequency and uses technical skills to break tight areas.

So try to understand the point.

Shut up and stop whining. cheesy grin. Everyone makes the best of every situation they find themselves in. Life doesn't present us with the same circumstances. That's clear. I have no idea why anyone would whine about that. The Guardiola you carry on your head today, has he ever coached any team not stacked with talent? He's been jumping from one established team to another. Perhaps if he coaches a much less talented team like Leeds to winning the premier league title, maybe some of us would consider him as good as Mourinho.

And yet he's considered better than most coaches. Maybe he should go and coach Leicester to the premier league title before we consider him great. Maybe we cannot consider him great becos he has always benefitted from a large pool of talent wherever he goes. Maybe he's not better than those coaches at the bottom of the premier league since they are coaching less talented teams so there's no basis for comparison. Nonsense.

Think my friend. Think. cheesy grin
TheGoodJoe:

It is easy to run quantifiable metrics while playing with Kimmich, Xabi Alonso and Muller.

While Osimhen is playing with none close in quality. grin
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by benji93: 8:25pm On Mar 04, 2023
What's wrong with you? It doesn't depend on anything. cheesy. He's not better than LEWA. A striker is a striker. Ofcourse no two strikers have the same style. Wing attack Striker/Creative attack striker. You just want to sound insightful. cheesy grin. You are unbelievable. Must every player play for Guardiola/Klopp to be the best striker they ever can be?

Nobody is running down anybody for anybody. This is a sport, and comparisons have always been part of it. You can rate a player as better than another based on quantifiable metrics. Saying a player is better than another player doesn't mean you are running down the latter. It simply means he's better as a striker.

LEWA has been doing this for over 10 years. Consistency is relevant to their ratings. LEWA is 34, a veteran, and yet he has been just as productive this season. Osimhen is on the rise, we can watch this guy get better and still acknowledge he's not better than LEWA. Ah.
TheGoodJoe:

It depends on how you want to look at it.

Lewandowski is what I call a creative attack Striker while Osimhen is a wing attack Striker. Both play their roles better than each other.

This is Osimhen's second season with a high grade coach. And I don't rate Spalletti tactically offensively over Klopp and Guardiola who Lewandowski played for in his prime years.

So, just enjoy both players than running down one for the other.

Stop making it hard to have a conversation with you. Sometimes it seems like you don't think deeply about what you are typing. We at least have to pretend we are learning from winners. More so you could try to incorporate some of the strategies of winning coaches, but it doesn't mean you have to deploy their style.

Besides the man's career as a coach was just starting. Very far down the learning curve. You learn from just about any winning coach, even better if they are within reach. Meanwhile, his countrymen largely popularized total football, which was very successful, he might as well continue that legacy. Unfortunately, total football is hard to implement. You need the time and talent.

Anyway, he's not deploying tiki-taka. I would admire a winner. A tiki-taka pupil got beat. Very simple. Maybe he's too far removed from the purest form of tikitaka. cheesy grin

Finally, you say something about this man that is very correct. Nobody can kill anybody's talent. cheesy grin. All we are saying is we are not seeing it. Eventually, talent has to show. Under 17 was over 7 years ago. What tools do we need to dig the talent out?
TheGoodJoe:
I repeat, the talent is there for Kelechi Nwakali.

There is no amount of negativity, abuse or insult that will kill his talent.

Mikel Obi suffered more than this.

Not too long ago, some were dishing it hot on Osimhen.

Iheanacho suffered same but still went on to shine.

So Kelechi Nwakali needs to stay focus. Keep working hard and the results will tilt to his favor.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by benji93: 4:03pm On Feb 14, 2023
Don't cry man. You are never careful with your choice of words. Pls think about your words carefully before you use them. You are sure I am among those who mocked Mikel and called him a failure? Are you out of something to throw at me?

And oh, my opinions on Iheanacho are still current. cheesy grin. Stats show he has been bad, based on the standard you folks want us to use. He's been terrific over two games. But well according to history, he's had these kinds of spikes before after which his performances just drop off. It's quite straightforward and in good faith to ask for more data. cheesy

Attack, attack, attack. Here we go again. The unending cycle of victimhood. Stand up, man. Telling you, you would be bad at management is not that terrible. cheesy grin. I repeat, Nwakali is anything but special. I know you like the man. I actually used to like him as an under-17 player. I liked the chances of him developing into a really good player. But well it's what it is.
TheGoodJoe:

Attacking me will not help your course. I am sure you would have been among the band wagons that were mocking Mikel and calling him a failure. You would have joined the crew that believed Osimhen will not do well in an academy football team in England.

You are among those not too long ago trying to run Iheanacho down. You can live with your negativity. No one is dragging it with you.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by benji93: 2:39pm On Feb 14, 2023
@GoodJoe, I hate this. Appealing to our pretentious sense of caring for the oppressed is not a good look. These men have chosen a career path where experts watch them every day, rate their abilities, and use qualifications such as fantastic, poor, out-of-form, terrible, world-class, average, above-average, great, incredible, underwhelming, overrated, from-another-planet, special(as you frequently use yourself. grin), one-of-a-kind. Name it.

This is not kicking anyone. This judging a player that's on the stage. I guess that's why the best coaches are the best. No appeal to those talks like "oh, he will bounce back". If he's injured or suffering a psychological issue, you take him out of the rotation and bring a sound option in. It's part of your job description to make tough decisions.

If you don't want to be scrutinized don't get on that stage. Everything goes. We are not insulting his family, it's not personal. Just judging his abilities.

Summary: My good friend, do your best to not manage a team, You will very likely ruin the team. You would be terrible at management. This is not an insult, just an observation. You would have paid a player 5 years' worth of salaries before you realize, oh he's not that special after all. cheesy grin

TheGoodJoe:
The truth is that we live in a world where many like to kick people when they are down. When they see someone doing the opposite, they get angry.

That is why people take anyone speaking with belief in Kelechi Nwakali badly. They want everyone to join them in mocking him.

As long as Kelechi Nwakali keeps the belief and keeps working hard, he can turn things around and excel.

But wait, is he becoming special or he's special? Don't confuse us. cheesy grin
TheGoodJoe:

That was why the last stats TheSuperNerd posted of Kelechi Nwakali drew my interest.

In the previous match, Kelechi Nwakali had 63 touches on the ball. In his last match, he had 109 touches. Which was insane. You can only achieve that by improving your work rate. It shows he is pushing to get more of the ball. His making 17 long passes shows he is pushing to control play more.

So, there is a big sign that he is finding his feet and we might witness something special soon.

He just needs to keep pushing. Kelechi Nwakali is a special talent. He just needs to make it shine more.
