Let me do what Lebron James' fans are good at. Conjuring up hypotheticals. Very imaginative people. . Let me help you out. If Lebron Jaymes was asked to pick one of two choices. You will go to 6 finals and almost double the next player's scoring capacity but although you will contribute you won't lead in other statistical categories or You go to 10 NBA finals but lose 6 times, and you will lead in every statistical category every time(not sometimes), i am very sure he will pick the first. Easy choice. The day you come to the understanding that in sports winning is the goal first and foremost as long as you follow the rules is the day you start to understand sports. Celestial Church of Christ does not worship Angels. We pray to Jehovah through Jesus Christ and command the Angels to do the bidding of Christ...because they are the ministering spirits assigned to deliver the requests of believers who will inherit salvation. Hebrews 1 verse14
So it is not against proper christian doctrine to send angels on errands. They are like invisible body gaurds and spiritual servants to us. Stronger and wiser but they do not have the authority to dominate all of creation that the believer has.
Concerning Moses Orimolade, you have with full confidence told an absolutely false story about him. This is a well documented biography of him.

Educate yourself and stop peddling lies.
Celestial Church of Christ did not break put of C and S. It was started in Benin Republic in 1947 when Oschoffa had an encounter with God in the forest on his Timber selling business. Before then he was a member of the Methodist Church and he clearly states that he loved to pray so much.
In the encounter he was told why God appointed him as his servant. There was a big problem with African Christians who had converted from idol worshipping to the orthodox churches like Anglican, Methodist and Babtist. When the had challenges, they reverted back to their old habits and consulted with traditional diviners and healers for solutions.Problem is when they died, in spite of their good deeds and worship...Satan had put his mark on them when they had gone to consult his human agents and so the mark of ownership by Satan prevented them from making heaven.
Therefore, God imbued Oschoffa and by his extension the Celestial Church of Christ with what was lacking in the Orthodox churches.
1. Healing powers 2. Prophetic Mantle...to hear from God,revelations about the source solutions and laser focused prayer points to a person's problems. 3. Authority in the name and blood of Jesus through prayers to break and loose the captives of Satan. 4. Spread the message of salvation through Christ all over the world.
These are the mandates of the Celestial Church of Christ and all these are comprised in the term " Luli " which was translated to him to mean the "Grace of God" meaning Oschoffa and by extension the Celestial Church of Christ did nothing to merit these special gifts but it was the Divine Monergism of God Almighty.
By the design of Jesus Christ, the Church is a problem solving church..to set captives free from the bondage of Satan. That is why in many cases, na problem dey carry person go Cele just like nobody visit the hospital unless sey problem wey pass paracetamol don dey.
If Oschoffa was able to play with a snake and it did mot harm him, how is that different from Apostle Paul's experience in Acts 28 verse 1-6, where a snake bit him and had no effect on him.
I am still at loss to how a Christian who believes that ALL power belongs to Jesus would in the same vein believe that a monkey, snake or bird that was born and are dead by now can give a man Spiritual power.
What Oschoffa saw in the forest was not abnormal. A monkey, snake and bird are bound to be in the forest .
If Oschoffa and by extension the Celestial Church of Christ was demonic, why would Oschoffa tell all these accounts and include them in the church constitution a public document.? Would it not be common sense for a deceiver to hide the demonic source of his powers.
I'm sorry you guys are not thinking at all and your narrow mindedness is making you not see beyond your nose. Have you ever picked up a Celestial Church of Christ unique hymn book and read the wordings of the songs the sing in church during service to understand their beliefs about Christ?
There is a CCC hymn that says. There is no other way that leads to heaven...sinner it is the name of Jesus that saves.
Another CCC hymn says. It is the precious blood of Jesus that was the propitiation for our sins. Sinner wash yourself in the blood of Jesus and you shall be saved.
Another song says : we have conquered wizards, we have conquered witches, Satan has no power over us, anymore.
Another CCC hymn says. Wizards have been put to shame, witches have been thrown into confusion. The Devil is terrified and has fallen by the power of God in this church.
How can you listen to all these and then say the Celestial Church of Christ is a demon worshipping Church. Okay what are the names of the demons that we serve as revealed to you? May God forgive you both for slandering the church with minimal or zero knowledge about it.

I didn't know anything about David Lyon's case until now. I did some digging. And even though I usually don't Nigerian online news outlets, since a fair number of major Nigerian news outlets carried it, I am assuming that the commonalities between their reports are fairly true. They reported that David submitted fake academic credentials, which means he provided false information on his form. My point is not unnecessary even for this example. Besides the case was that of a governor-elect. The office of the deputy governor exists because of the office of the governor, so if the governor is disqualified for submitting false documents, his deputy should be disqualified too. I understand if the law kicks the deputy out because the governor lied. Having said this I understand your point could perhaps open a discussion on how the two offices interact. My argument is however that who the state elects is mostly based on the office of the governor. So even though the deputy governor goes down when his governor goes down, I do not believe this to be true in the reverse(I assume you don't go the extremes and assume this too). Also while the law that brings a governor down most definitely brings his deputy down, the same law doesn't necessarily apply to the deputy alone. The section specifically stated that anyone elected to the office of the governor must not violate the following rules. If the constitution recognizes the office of the deputy governor as a separate office on some grounds, then it's a loophole to get this thrown out. You make it seem as if the Constitution is clear on this. The two offices are separate on at least some things, and the Constitution recognizes that. This is not my problem. Perhaps the constitution should be amended further to cover that loophole. ehissi: Hmmmm.......
Can you appreciate the grounds of disqualification of David lyon, the acclaimed winner of the Bayelsa gubernatorial elections?
If you can, then this position of yours would be totally unnecessary...
The issue raised here, points to eligibility which is a pre-electoral matter, don't you think so? |
Politics › Re: David Hundeyin Releases Obafemi Hamzat's USA Naturalization Records by benji93: 2:23pm On Jun 23, 2023 |
Much better. I love it. That's the appropriate section. However, is the office of the governor the same as the office of the deputy governor? I can see in section 191(2 and 3) that the Deputy Governor's office is recognized as an office by the constitution. So an argument can be made that they are separate. ehissi: Thank you for pointing that out. The relevant section to governorship elections is section 182 (1).
Which is a mirror of section 66(1). |
Politics › Re: David Hundeyin Releases Obafemi Hamzat's USA Naturalization Records by benji93: 2:13pm On Jun 23, 2023 |
You should address both points. You only addressed the lesser of the two. I can concede that point, even though I still think it's a loophole. The much more important issue is does that section of the constitution include election into the state government? The section clearly doesn't confirm that. Saao: both of them are elected and they are running joint tickets, what ever happened to deputy, affect the governor, balyesa case come to mind |

In other words, your freedom from Nigeria is not in your hands. You are bound to Nigeria until Mr President says so. . It also seems renouncing your allegiance to other states according to the US is a formality. In truth you can retain your other citizenship if you so wish. Christistruth03: Not only that O !!
The President of Nigeria must also approve your renounced Citizenship application form
You cannot renounce your Nigerian Citizenship until Mr President says so !!!!
And signs it !!!
Let me give it to you Straight
Hamzat never renounced his Citizenship and even if he did ( Which he didn't ) President Tinubu of Nigeria under the constitution of Nigeria has the right and full authority to restore it !!!!;

Quite interesting. But whenever you quote something, do quote the entirety of it. You ignored the first part 66(1). No person shall be qualified for election to the Senate or House of Representatives. This matter is with respect to a state. That was clearly not covered. That's the first loophole. The second is even if the office of the state governor was part of it, this case may not be considered seriously because Sanwo Olu was the one elected not him. You may have to find another part of the constitution i am afraid. ehissi: Section 66(1)(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic,1999,(As Amended ), is clear and unambiguous that a person who voluntarily acquires the Citizenship of another Country, who is a Citizen of Nigeria by birth is not eligible for elections.
It is my submission that the operative word here is “voluntarily acquire the Citizenship of another Country”.
So you can be a dual Citizen of Nigeria by birth. That is to say you are born in another country and at the same time , one of your parents or grand parents is indigenous to a Community in Nigeria. This is the category of dual citizens that can not be caught by Section 66(1) of the Constitution.
Section 66(1) is clear and unambiguous and should interpreted literally as expected by the literal cannon of interpretation. Section 28 only says you will not forfeit your Citizenship, but by the provisions of Section 66(1) of the Constitution you can not contest.
In the United States ,if you are not born in the United States you cannot contest for the Presidency.
It does not detract from your Citizenship.
So,the argument that Section 28 of gives you leverage to contest is not tenable as the being a Citizen simpli cita, does not qualify you to contest, except you meet other pre-requisites and one of the pre-requisites is as stated in Section 66 (1) of the Constitution.
The Provisions of the Constitution finds expression in Section 66 (1) which prohibits a person who voluntarily acquires the Citizenship of another Country from elective Office.
The cases of Ogbeide v. Osula and Labour Party v. Ishola, referred to by some analysts are Court of Appeal decisions.
The Supreme Court had decided in Ucha v. Onwe (2011) that voluntary acquisition of citizenship of another Country, prohibits you from elective Office in tandem with Section 66(1)(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic 1999,(As Amended ). This remains the Law according to the legal principle and tradition of following Staris Decisis (Judicial Precedence). |

I agree, they can't is just wrong. Their ages suggest they can dominate for the next 4 years, I would bet they can reach the conference finals at least twice, but winning it all is what I can't bet on. Getting to the finals next year would be more suggestive. A40: No two days or teams are alike. Let's look at the Bucks vs Nuggets
Holiday 33 Murray 26 Middleton 32 Gordon 28 Lopez 35 Porter Jr 25
The average age of their core is 26.5
No one is saying it's a given they get back to the top but suggesting they can't is just wrong when they clearly have all the necessary ingredients.

Won de. Impressive run. But common, Jokic no too shoot like that. It's an exaggeration to say his shooting was Steph kind of shooting. Neither was his defense Giannis kind of defense. I cannot begrudge him the first three. But I love it, what a way to place the man among the greats. The so-called "foreign born" players are here. A40: Saw an interesting take by Richard Jefferson on NBA today. Basically said this Jokic run is a combination of
KD scoring Magic passing Tim Duncan rebounding Steph shooting Giannis defense
And he brought out numbers and a solid argument to back it up. As we know the NBA is a copy cat league so it will be interesting to see if the league goes back to the traditional big man route. They will ultimately fail cos it takes a 1 of 1 like Jokic to pull that off
Just like teams have failed trying to spam 3pters like Steph. Denver showed that you can shoot horribly and still win,
We will see if teams will be able to come up with an antidote for Jokic, another underrated aspect of his game is his defense. Even till now people still bring up Embiid being better on defense I don't know maybe cos Embiid is black people just assume he's better but he was holding guys to 39% shooting as the closest defender |
