Hey Nairaland family, any idea what dates the NVC are working on now? We got a notice that our I-129F was approved in April 2021 but we have not received a notice from the NVC yet that the file has been sent to the consulate in Nigeria. Just trying to guage what approval dates they are attending to now at the embassy.

Double ID.

Does it pain you that much that you're now logging in since Feb? You guys aren't as smart as I thought. If you're correct, why do you need to sign in with multiple IDs to display sheer ignorance?
Okay... Seems like you have a serious problem that is beyond this discussion.
SportsRe: Ogenyi Onazi's Traditional Marriage In Benin City (Photos) by benom(m): 11:58pm On Jun 16, 2016
The young man got married to his sweet heart in Benin. And the argument for some people is the tribal identity of the bride.
Just for the sake of sanity, Ogunsuyi is a Bini name. Another version is Ogansuyi. There are a lot of Bini names that resemble Yoruba names and vice versa. Sometimes they mean exactly the same thing. Other times, they are just homonyms. Ogun in Bini means god of iron.
There is no doubt that the Binis and the Yorubas have a lot in common especially because of the close interrelations during the days of the Benin empire and the Yoruba empire.
CrimeRe: Nigerian Couple In Texas Face Slavery And Assault Charges, Faces Upto 60 Years by benom(m): 7:32pm On Feb 10, 2016
I just laugh when I read some posts. You need to see how Nigerians treat other Nigerians here. Especially if they had a hand in bringing you to the States! Slavery is too soft of a word to use. Some people believe they own their house helps and can do anything to them. But here is the irony... When they hire Philippinos, Jamaicans or Mexicans to do the same job, they adjust their attitude to fit what is truly required by law. Why can't we just treat ourselves fair. Not everyone behaves this way, but a lot of us do.
PoliticsRe: Ibori Set To Return From UK Prison by benom(m): 4:14pm On Jan 15, 2016
Ibori is a criminal. In a civilized society, he will not be welcomed by a sitting governor or anyone in Delta state for that matter. But, come to think of it, a lot of other criminals benefited greatly from him while he was in office hence the loyalty. He was a kingmaker and self appointed lord over delta state. I hope PMB is able to cut him to size before he spreads again.

How much is oshomiole paying you?
The average edo man is tired ,no jobs,no new employment, but more taxes.
What did Oshomole do with the 75 million dollar loan?
Are you one of the social media campaigners? As a proof, most of you opened your social media accounts early to mid last year solely for this purpose. Now who is being paid? Tell your Oga to come here and challenge me and I'll post his picture on social media.
Lil peices to of nonsense.

As an Edo person, am telling you now that if proper comparison is done Lucky' legacy will be far higher than that of Oshiomole. Oshiomole cannot boast of any landmark project except uncompleted roads everywhere.
Wherehuhhuh Lucky Igbinedion is the reason an Edo person will never ever vote for PDP again. Including me.

godoluwa:
my question is, all the allegations levelled against him is it true or false?
Some of the accusations are legitimate and should be cleared. But this is not the Edo people. This is a group of PDP youths. They stage protests and post it on social media just for political reasons. They don't represent us. We believe Oshiomole has made mistakes but it is not as they are portraying it.
PoliticsRe: Oshiomhole's Chief-of-staff, Patrick Obahiagbon Stoned By Angry Protesters by benom(m): 1:42pm On Nov 10, 2015
I see some of you were expecting this to go unchallenged. Are some of these cases legitimate, absolutely. But for this useless group to start a campaign, not for the people, but for themselves and masquerade it as a protest by the majority of the state is stupid.

pls stop displaying ur ignorance here. look for something better to comment or remain mute. is it the pdp that increased ambrose Ali university school fees to over 200,000 or introduced the latest land use act . oshiomohole is my kinsman. the truth remains that he is over drunk with power ever since buhari won the presidential election. He is yet to fulfill less than 20% of his campaign promises.
Post your real name here and let's see if you are not a member of the Edo Political Forum on Facebook. The PDP propaganda page. Just dare and post it.
PoliticsRe: Oshiomhole's Chief-of-staff, Patrick Obahiagbon Stoned By Angry Protesters by benom(m): 1:36pm On Nov 10, 2015
These same PDP guys organize events, donate few chairs to classrooms ... Regular political campaign stuffs and post it side by side their staged protests on social media just to deceive people. It is a shame what the PDP has turned into. But for them to start a social media campaign and expect Edo state indigenes to just forget about the 8 years of extreme PDP hardship is just crazy.

I'm just surprised how people I respected can go this low. This is just low down dirty.

governor to ameliorate the plight of the
people. In the past when the governor was
going on inspection of projects, people will

but how you left. It appears the government
has turned it ears against the people; all our
cries and lamentation have been met with
propanganda by government and all we hear is
that they are being sponsored.”

The above is so true. An old woman once presented him with a cock to appreciate him for his good work another gave him a bottle of malt etc. I wonder what came over him that he has turn into a tyrant.
As an Edo person, I believe Oshiomole made mistakes. But he is light years ahead of anything we had during the PDP tenure. These guys are PDP folks. They organize protests and post it on social media. These are the same people and they don't represent the everyday Edo man on the street.
PoliticsRe: Oshiomhole's Chief-of-staff, Patrick Obahiagbon Stoned By Angry Protesters by benom(m): 1:28pm On Nov 10, 2015
Staged events. Staged by the same group that led the street protest. We rejected PDP in Edo many years ago and so far, we've not changed out minds.
PoliticsRe: Oshiomhole's Chief-of-staff, Patrick Obahiagbon Stoned By Angry Protesters by benom(m): 1:21pm On Nov 10, 2015
I can see the PDP led social media campaign against Oshiomole has found its way to Nairaland. You can check out their Facebook page. It is called Edo Political Forum. It is a PDP led social media campaign. They stage things like these and post it on social media.
We the Edo people know who we stand with. The election results will tell for themselves when the time come. We rejected Anenih, Igbinedion and the PDP a long time ago and we have not changed our minds.
PoliticsRe: Mass Protest Against Oshiomhole Administration Rocks Benin City by benom(m): 8:57pm On Nov 09, 2015
For those of us that actually lives in Benin. We know that this was a staged protest. As an Edo man, I can never forget the horrors of more than 8 years of lawlessness and misrule of the PDP. Oshiomole is not perfect and I don't expect any governor to be, but he is light years ahead of anything we had in the PDP regime.

Check out the PDP propaganda Facebook page called Edo Political Forum https://www./Edopolitics/. Most of the people you see in the pictures above are members of the forum above. Pure lies for the upcoming election.

HealthRe: Mums: Would You Consider An Epidural? by benom(m): 4:15am On Nov 03, 2014
Having an Epidural could sometime be personal decision. Before you have an epidural, check with the hospital to ensure they have a good exposure to the procedure. The best way is to often ask around long before hand so you know where to go if required. Your anesthesiologist typically creates an incision in your spine, between the vertebrates below the spinal chord.
In most cases, the stress of labour can be greatly reduced by an epidural.

I'm not sure how it is done in Nigeria(I'm guessing it is probably the same), the doctor asks you before hand if you will be interested in an epidural.

BusinessRe: My Experience With A Nigerian SAMPA Boy In Guangzhou, China by benom(m): 4:27pm On Jul 20, 2014
Everywhere you travel to, you will find Nigerians who are very hard working, honest and live good lives. But the locals always have this bad notion of Nigerians as thieves and very dishonest people. In my community for example, we were all happy with the locals until a guy came from Nigeria and withing weeks, scammed most of the locals on craigslist. When he was arrested, the newspaper read 'Nigerian con student arrested for ...' That kind of broke the confidence the locals had in other Nigerian. Plus, in a space of 2 years, another Nigerian was arrested again.
Travel tips:
1. Prepare very well before you leave Nigeria. There is no money on the streets to pick anywhere in the world.
2. There should be a genuine motivation to travel. Like getting a good education, etc
3. If you don't prepare financially, you will become a burden on whatever place you travel to. Don't expect to be treated nice when you are a social burden and an economic drain.
4. Sincerely, there are lots of opportunities to grow in Nigeria. When you have money, you can travel anywhere.

This aside, travel the world if you have the means, relocate to a different country if you wish to do so. The world is a global village. But don't show up begging for food. That, people do not want.
RomanceRe: Pleas Help!!! My Sister Husband Is Asking Me Out by benom(m): 7:58pm On Jan 07, 2014
When a woman gets molested, it was her fault that. We say she did not dress properly, she should have been in her parent's house, she tempted him, etc. Yet we wonder why other cultures look at us and think we are not intelligent.
TravelRe: USA Or England: Which Is The More Racist Country? by benom(m): 6:24am On Jan 02, 2014
As a Nigerian living in the US, I find this topic very disturbing. It is completely wrong to identify a country as racist. For all those that say the US is more racist, there is a very high percentage that you are racist yourself. The US is a very diverse place and people will treat you differently based on their personal experience. That does not make a country racist!
And oh by the way, Nigerians are some of the most sensitive people I have ever seen. Ask a fellow Nigerian here in the US and they will tell you they don't even want to live in a neighborhood with a lot of fellow Nigerians.
Bottom line, if you want to travel abroad, go with purpose and you will be respected. Don't come here depending on government assisted living and hope to be treated like a king.
Science/TechnologyRe: Prototype Of A Made-in-nigeria Excavator (pictures) by benom(m): 4:18am On Nov 23, 2013
As a systems designer, I have seen complex systems move from prototype to roll out. It takes a lot of money to get a design like this to become a finished product. I am talking millions of dollars. You have to spend a lot of money to work on the hydraulics that produce the power for the excavation buckets. I hope someone comes up and sponsor this but I don't see that happening.

nutty_hnic: Na wa o.

21st century slavery. A citizen of one country celebrates citizenship of another country.

I dont blame her, nigerians in uk will love to be a citizen too.

I blame naija and africa that is filled with vagabonds
Why will you call someone a slave because they made a choice for a better life. Are you just throwing words around because they had the opportunity you never had? These people who change nationality have thought about it and how it affects their life. So you are not in the position to tell them what to do. Anyways get a book, read, and you will find out that immigration has been here since the dawn of man.
CelebritiesRe: Karen Igho Celebrates Becoming A British Citizen by benom(m): 10:18pm On Nov 21, 2013
Its just stupid how some people classify others when they choose to become citizens of another country. It is her choice and you have no influence over that. For some, it is out of jealousy but for very many others, it is out of shear illiteracy.
TravelRe: Winning The US Lottery & Losing Faith In American Dream by benom(m): 3:14am On Nov 13, 2013
Some comments here are completely uninformed. The US has never been the problem. The problems are the immigrant. How do you move to a new place where you do not have any form if personal support without a concrete plan. Some immigrants do not do any form of research into their destination. It is tough to start afresh in a new country. But most often, it becomes a huge blessing if you plan appropriately.

This is just completely outrageous. I live in Hyde Park, Chicago and my rent is $14000 Per Annum with about $2000 for utilities in a 2 bedroom high rise duplex. I really don't care where this is, the price is completely outrageous if this is true!
