What exactly is your point here? That people shouldn’t pursue their dreams of studying abroad, even if it means borrowing the funds? You’ve been very informative with your post, thank you. But you’ve only succeeded in playing on people’s fears and you may have discouraged quite a few peeps in the process. You may never know. You criticised those you say come on here and paint glory pictures of Germany, while you have done exactly the same thing by painting sorry pictures of Germany. How about those that borrowed money to fund their blocked accounts, got to Germany, paid back their debts, go to school, work the regular menial jobs you say are available, make good grades and come back home with a very good certificate? It’s either those people are not in Germany or you’ve just been so unlucky not to have met them.

IF YOU HAVE DREAMS OF STUDYING IN GERMANY - DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED! DO NOT LET ANYTHING STAND IN THE WAY OF YOUR SUCCESS. FORGET THE STORIES THEY TELL YOU ABOUT THIS PERSON OR THAT PERSON. BE READY TO PURSUE YOUR DREAMS - EVEN IT IT MEANS “GOING TO WORK AT 4AM, COMING BACK AT 2AM, OR HAVING ICE BLOCK FALL ON YOUR HEAD”.

Over and Out.
I guess you did not get the gist....are you in Germanyhuh? I am sure if you are here, you will understand what the guy is saying....You just call 4am in Germany like that...laughing in Swahili....my God will bring you down here if you re not here already and if you re here already God will continue to make a way for you.

Good day people! please if during online application for an m.sc program, one is asked for a pre- university certificate, what does that mean?
Also, if during online application one is applying for more than one course at TUM, how does one go about applying for the two courses?

Pre-University certificate simply means last certificate obtain before gaining admission into university e.g Secondary certificate, diploma certificate..

Before I hit the street, I had a strong feeling I should drop something here for my brothers and sisters here.
there is no new thing to add here all questions have been delt with by Gurus but I would like to stress the language issues....atleast God has helped us thus far 3 years is no joke in foreign land PLEASE specially for team winter 2016... go register for language class be it Goethe or private lessons, online lesson or self teaching is not enough to learn Deutsch....let me share a joke: A friend of mine(Nigerian) bought a soap at Penny, he's been using the soap for a long time not until we were in the same room at a conference I saw the soap in th bathroom...I first thought it was the hotel that provides the soap but I was wondering why should hotel provide two hand soaps, I then asked him who has the second soap it was for him, he was even praising the manufacturer that I could see his skin had changed, immediately I told him he had been using "handseife" not "Dusche".....in a not shell it is important to learn the language.

I would like to advise those who just entered Deutschland and for those coming in for summer semester.....I know most of your expectations were or yet to be met (the sucking of block account, the jobs......) but I have a good news for you it would still come I can assure that let your feet stand very well and understand the system ( be careful with the heater in your room for now and signing of contracts) do not listen to those bros who will be boosting of 20 years in Deutschland, you are not the same, they came in through Asylum they do not have idea of German education system....I will beg you join our facebook group (Nigerian Scholars in Germany) some great guys are there, they are willing to help you in difficulties...lastly you might face racism or stereotyping in school, class or shops, please do not jump into conclusion that "germans are racist" racism and stereotyping is everywhere even in Nigeria, for example people tell you he's an igbo, he's yoruba, hausas are illiterate.....and so on, treat racism and stereotyping as individual case....

For the team winter 2016, take your time to read threads from page 1-till the end as it would really help you, I want to prophesy into someone's life....You have been seeing good news here and you been asking God when is mine coming, the Lord that brought me here without no block account or sponsorship or scholarship, He's still alive, He would do it! Don't be depressed but press forward, hold on hope and faith....and when God has done it please do not cover the glory of God, share the good news here as it would encourage others.

Lastly I want to thank every one who has contributed in this thread, Eke40seven(took me time to decode d nam grin grin grin) hope to see you in Munchen when I come around, Oye50 I tualle sir, My friend Nevillebolt(awon ti Frankfurt, money city), Crowns2, hollaytan, Kciano...I hope to seee you in Magdeburg in January.

Merry Christmas!
Fröhliche Weihnachten!

Peace out!

Top of the morning to you wonderful people.
I got a report from uni-assist yesterday concerning my application (MSc biotechnology) to BTU Cottbus). It reads that my application can't be forwarded to the school because I've not yet attained the necessary undergraduate degree to qualify for the graduate program. My undergraduate course is microbiology and I'm sure its one of those courses that qualifies one for MSc biotechnology.

Also in the report, it was kindly noted that when my bachelor's degree (8semesters in Nigeria) was converted to German bachelor, it's 6semesters. Stating that 7-semester program is required to qualify one for the graduate program.

At this point, are they saying 8-semester program in Nigeria is equivalent to 6semesters in Germany? Was anyone in this dilemma before? What should be done now? Should I request that my application be forwarded to the school that way?

@Eke40seven, @phucado, @Hollyatan and everyone please come to my rescue.

Prompt and critical responses are needed please.
Quickly mail the coordinator of the course....I had the same issue when I applied for my second masters, I mailed the admission office of my school and they requested for my papers....I will recommend you do the same thing...hopefully it should work.

Good morning people,

I have a question I hope the gurus can help me with. Anyone is welcome to give their opinion, thanks.
After gaining admission earlier this year to University of Tuebingen, I applied for visa and went for interview as required. Interview was ok, I believe. But last minute, my sponsor messed up and I couldn't raise that amount of money in such a short time between my interview and enrollment deadline. The school has told me I can come in next summer or winter semester, whichever I choose.
Meanwhile, after my interview, the embassy sent me the usual message to fund but it's been silent since then. I was expecting a rejection letter or something and it hasn't arrived since October. My documents are still with them. I didn't bother going there all this time because I was too depressed and I just threw myself into working and trying to raise the money myself.

My question is do I apply for a visa all over? Or just go ahead to fund my blocked account against the coming semester? (I haven't decided whether to go in the summer and winter) Or is there a particular type of application for people in my shoes?

I'd appreciate a response please, especially from those that have been in a similar situation.

Thanks
Hmmmm, first do not be depressed I understand you bro only people who had be in your shoes would understand, exactly my case, more reason why I came back to NL, This happened to me in 2012, I first gave up because I didn't funded on my account but on the day of my interview I decided to go for the interview...long story...... but at the end I got the visa without the block account or sponsorship, it might sound impossible ... with God all things are possible, God can still work things out....my advice for you is to be prayerful and email the embassy for their decision but if I may ask what semester if it is winter semester....hmmmm it might not be possible as people are preparing for exams now....Thanks and I hope I can help further.

The DB wahala has finally been fixed to the glory of God. The confirmation mail dropped in my box yesterday. @ Oye50, mehn you are too much, despite your very tight schedule you still made out time for the big fight. You approached the Dreaded Bank on my behalf and came out with good tales. May you really be blessed. Eke, Benycent, Dolpaz you guys are wonderful. Having crossed the semi final, here comes the final and the very last struck that ll break the camel’s back - the AM mail. Everything shall surely end in praise.
Thanks to almighty God who has given us the strength.

hello everyone, i wrote to the alien authority n they replied that they have sent their agreement for my visa to the embassy. so i forwarded the email to the embassy then they sent me an email with an attachment that i should come with my passport but didn't mention the usual insurance n all. i feel broken. what possibly went wrong?
what type of visa do you apply for language or normal study visa.....things can still change but the chances of rejection is 98%...but do not be heartbroken you can file for appeal depending on the reason of rejection....God can change the decision to your favour!

Bro I want to apply to go and work in Germany, I just graduated last month. studied mechanical engineering. what are the criteria/requirements? Any additional advice for me? thanks
yes it is possible...first you need to be a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers(NSE) and Council Regulations of Engineers in Nigeria(COREN) but I guess you know before you can be registered member of (COREN) you must have 5 years working experience in an engineering company, after that you can send your certificates to ANABIN in Germany for recognition, lastly apply for visa at the German consulate in Lagos...the visa is just 6 months visa for you to look for job but you must show you can afford your living expenses, notes you can not work with that visa and after securing a job related to your field, come back to Nigeria for the Normal working visa.

Wats up bro? Why you doing a second master? Was just wondering why you didn't hustle for job instead of going to school again
Ohaskid....that's true my brother,I would like to point out what I have seen so far in Germany....yes there are jobs I won't deceive you but would you like to study and end up in a factory( God forbids) so I would advice people coming in new if you wanna study in Germany, choose courses like Medicine,Engineering,IT and Nursing, any courses related in that field the chances of getting a job is high (I am not saying you can not get a job in other fields, but chances are very slim),Secondly I decided to go for another masters because my first masters program is not what I thought it would be like, it was sweet on the website but getting to Germany it was below my expectations...a lot of things I would share more reason I came back to Nairaland.
