Alas, Cameron won't be directing, but don't worry, we're in good hands - Tim Miller is more than capable of meeting expectations.
I'm not quiet conversant with this Miller guy.

Did you read my conversation with MjBolt before labelling me 'ignorant'? You people lack tact and just talk anyhow because this is the internet.
I read your post before your discussion with MJbolt which is the right order because it came first, but after reading your subsequent submission, I didn't edit my post because I still feel you're wrong in your "battle of the sexes" thought.

For as long as I can remember, we've had a female protagonists and male antagonists in many movies, how you view it as a battle of sexes, when it shouldn't be different from a male-male or female-female antagonist-protagonist boggles my mind.

I didn't intend my 'ignorant' post to rub you off the wrong the wrong way, maybe I'd have used the word 'oblivious' instead.

I don't understand the unnecessary feminisation of some of these characters.
You obviously don't know much about the Terminator franchise if you're ignorant about a female Terminator.

Terminator: Dark Fate official poster.

James Cameron teaming up with Deadpool director... hmm, I don't wanna get my hopes up, but I have a feeling this latest installment might actually not be bad. Can't wait.
I'm likely to see this movie at the cinema just because of one reason only - James Cameron. I have a feeling that if he plays a directorial role, the movie will resurrect the dead Terminator franchise all over again.

Hollywood is making live-action version of everything, it seems.

A live-version movie of Tom and Jerry is been planned, and apparently Michael Pena is going to play Tom.

Maybe it's just me, but I've never viewed Tom as the antagonist. I mean, Jerry is the one that tries to steal things that don't belong to him. Tom is only doing what he is supposed to do, stop a thieving mouse from stealing his owner's foods. What is wrong with that?
I don't see the need for the live-action of Tom and Jerry. Sounds like a bad joke to me.

This really irritates me. This is my opinion.

When it comes to blockbuster movies of high calibre and hype, I do not wait for critic reviews. I watch it myself. No need for someone to review it for me.

I wonder what would make me listen to anyone before I watch an xmen movie. When I know that there would be guaranteed high production value (whether or not the plot is rubbish), why would I wait for critics. I rather watch and make my own thoughts on it myself.

It is like me waiting for game of thrones season 8 review before I watch it. Granted, season 8 was crap but I still was the one that made up my mind.
Much ado about nothing.

See, when it comes to movies or series, there are some people whose RATINGS/opinions usually sync with mine on Nairaland and helps guide me in my download/seeing of movies. For example, Koice, I tend to enjoy his movies suggestions as they align with mine. He has suggested some series/movies which i didn't like as well.

Like sometime last year, when Koice was suggesting series for some people, he avoided The Blacklist, I didn't know why then, but I decided to download 5 seasons of it and after 3 episodes, I regretted not asking him if the series was worth it. I still rue that decision till today.

So when IB, whose ratings/appraisal of movies has always tallied with mine, said she's going to see the movie, I decided to use her appraisal to judge if the movie is worth me going to cinema to see it.

Two of us are different. We don't behave alike; while you may still go ahead to see the latest Hellboy despite it being critically adjudged a failure, I won't try it. I watch movies based mostly on ratings.

The greatest grievance I had with JL was the way Superman came into the scene and beat the hell out of Steppenwolf. The beating was so childish I disliked JL instantly.

Take a look at Thanos, with or with the Infinity Stones, he's a formidable foe. It took a while to defeat him. Not one guy beating the main villain as if a training match. Nonsense script.

LOL. The fear of wasting time and money on an average movie in the cinema, especially one I was very hopeful of, is the beginning of cinematic wisdom. Your ratings of movies have mostly tallied with mine, so I believe this time it won't be different.

Please do. The cinema over here will start showing it on the 15th, enough time for me to decide if I'd go see it or not. Thanks as you watch sharply. cheesy cheesy

Thank God you're among those like myself waiting for the movie to drop. When you see it, drop your appraisal sharply so I would know what to expect when I go to the cinema to see it.

If the movie doesn't live up to my expectations from your appraisal, I'll boycott seeing it.

Well, she's right. Superman is pretty boring. He's ridiculously overpowered that he's always going to win every brute fight.
Finally, people are starting to see what I saw since the first JL. I've written about this truth months ago.

Superman is the main reason why JL will always flop, simply because he's excessively strong and would beat up an opponent in seconds. So, what's the need of having a rival? Very boring. Take him away in the next JL and watch JL shine.

A movie will be too short to hold the different storylines of both. A TV series is perfect.
They'd make into a franchise and gradually build up the storylines like they did with the 3 Captain America films.

I was never a fan of Star Wars like you, in short my first Star Wars film was 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and I instantly loved it. Since then, I've followed the rest of the Star Wars including the the solo ones like Solo: A Star Wars Story.

I'll encourage you to watch them all, but while majority of Star Wars fans dislike Solo, I enjoyed it very much, I still have the large file in my hard drive drive. In short, I love it more than The Last Jedi which is critically rated higher than Solo. If I'm to rate them in order of ones I love the most, It'd be:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Solo: A Star Wars Story
Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

I'll encourage you to watch all 4 and decide if Solo is worth it or not. Koice gave the reason why the movie was disliked, and it had nothing to do with mediocrity.

You can also start watching the whole franchise from the beginning if you have such patience and time on your hands.

This is laughable. DC can't seriously use Pattison as Bruce Wayne. He's better off as a villain than Batman. I won't be surprised if it flops.

"I am inevitable"

"I am IRON MAN!"

Endgame may have shamelessly pandered to fan service, but it did so very artfully, that I can only applaud. It's such a memorable movie. The moment Tony met Peter in the battlefield after watching him disintegrate into ash on Titan five years ago, gave me the feels. A very powerful moment right there, but only to be surpassed by Tony knowingly sacrificing himself to erase Thanos and his minions. Or when Tony met his Dad when he time traveled back to the past with Steve Rogers. There are so many emotional moments...

"I love you 3000"

Tony Stark is my MVP. Steve Rogers too.

I'm not too hyped on X-Men: Rise of The Phoenix... not a fan of Jean Grey.
Too many emotional moments all the through the movie. Russo brothers were more focused on the storytelling of the movie rather than the usual too many action scenes associated with movies of the genre. They even started the movie without a fight scene unlike the other Avengers. It gave a Endgame a different but interesting outlook and feel, the kind I saw in TDK.

Whether it's emotional or inspirational speeches, the dialogues stood out. I found myself paying very rapt attention in the middle of the occasional jokes just to hear speeches like -

'No amount of money ever bought a second of time.'

'I think you look great, Cap. As far as I'm concerned, that's America's ass.'

'I keep telling everybody they should move on and grow. Some do. But not us.'

Rocket's speech to Thor at Asgard was emotional and funny as hell too.

Russo brothers just brought out the human/emotional side of the superheroes. And the movie ended on a emotional tone as well. It felt different from your regular MC superhero movie, a worthy end to an Avenger journey.

I'm not a fan of Jean Grey too, but the X-men trailer in general impressed me. The CGI and some of the action shown were breathtakingly fantastic. And it's assemblage of top casts like James McAvoy , Michael Fassbender , Jennifer Lawrence , Nicholas Hoult , Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan , Alexandra Shipp , and Jessica Chastain, make for a promising fun ride. I'm particularly looking forward to see Chastain's act. Have always been a huge fan of hers.

Thanos without the gauntlet- easy win for kratos.

Thanos with any stone or gauntlet- instant death for kratos
I disagree. Without his gauntlet, Thanos in Endgame was still very very powerful. Made wonder why the Russo brothers made it look like he's not that strong without the gauntlet in Infinity War.

Avengers, assemble!!

I nearly missed the movie tonight due to a rain that started outta the blue by 5pm. I had to defy it against all odds and make it to the cinema in time for the viewing. Couldn't let no goddamned rain derail my objective.

The movie was fantastic. The visuals were beautiful and stunning. The script? Almost perfect. This is how you make a beautiful movie. No disrespect to DC, neither am I trying to start a DC vs MC senseless fights, DC has got to get good scripts and directors if they want to get to MC level.

The Russo brothers really outdid themselves this time around. The movie had the perfect ingredients - romance, emotions, comedy and actions in the right proportions. All of us in the room laughed so hard. Thor's figure alone had me in stitches. grin. The comedy was top notch too. The dialogue were catchy.

Avengers: Endgame 9/10

Totally worth the money, time, stress and 3 hours it took from me.

My next cinema destination is June 5 for the upcoming X-men movie. Saw the trailer at the cinema and it blew me away. Plus it's MC we're talking about here, you hardly regret watching their movies.

1. Show me where I said Trippier was better.
2. Being number one for club and country means you are that good?

I agree with every other thing BTW and another thing Poch added was that Walker was not training well and was not doing well in the big games.
1. Apologies if you never said it, I didn't join the argument from beginning, I just thought you're implying such.

2. It got to count for something. Walker had to be good for him to be the undisputed first choice. In the EPL as at that time, the only right back I'd put in the same bracket with him is Azplicueta, who may or may not be better than him then, that's another discussion entirely.

Hmm. I don't want to say you don't know how to read. First, provide the post where I said Trippier was better than Walker.

Even in your link, Poch had stopped starting Walker before Walker walked up to him to tell him his heart was no longer in Tottenham. This is from your link. The reason Poch gave for not starting him is also online if you would only search for it.

The argument was not that Trippier was better than Walker but that Walker was not as good as people here tried to claim just because Pep signed him.

They have denied Morata, denied Zappacosta, denied Bakayoko and every other player that was bought with big money. But if Pep buys anybody, that person was world class. There is a special place in hell for people who make such arguments.
Walker was dropped for two matches and he went to meet Pochettino to tell him his heart was not there. In between the two matches, he started the Swansea match which they also won. Pochettino giving Trippier more chances doesn't mean he was better than Walker. Walker was both first choice for England and his club, he was that good.

Pochettino's issue with Walker started right from pre-season when Walker arrived late. That's where his problem with Poch started.
