I'm so happy I'm crying.

It's good to know that you are not part of the "not broke but i cannot afford 3,000 Naira movie ticket" crew.
This table you're shaking.... Hmmm. I no dey o.

I feel pissed kind of, that I'm seeing the movie very late. I'd have seen it last week Thursday but the excess workload couldn't give me a chance to do so.

Had to call in sick this morning just so nobody would disturb me to come to work today. Avengers must go down this night!!

Bro, I have admitted numerous times that you are much more civil than me when it come to arguments here.

However, your calm style only works with some reasonable people.

People like ishimama and alexistaiwo need my hard and aggressive style laced with some good old fashioned trolling/mockery.

Even a lot of Christians on the religion section got changed by my style.
Can't fault your POV. Some people need the tough way before they'd see the truth, but I prefer the civil route and if it doesn't work, then tough love method comes into play.

Yes and no. There are people who change. There are those who don't.

However, because arguments online are anonymous, there is little or no blowback....therefore, I support online arguments.

If you don't believe me just look at my homeboy, alexistaiwo- he went to watch avengers in the cinema. Something he does not normally do until he was blasted on this thread.
I'm seeing Avengers today. I'm hyped as fuck_. Can't wait for 7pm already. I've already bought my ticket this morning in preparation for the right time. cheesy

Na only koice you see. I have conceded too nah.

LMAO. True. I've seen you concede too. I forgot. Even Alexistaiwo too.

I think why people don't usually concede in debate here is because of the approach sometimes. A civil approach is a more better way to convince someone you're arguing with.

Of all the argument on here, i have never seen any side of the divide change their stance..they just go on bickering for days till it turns to insults. People generally are difficult to win over to your side of the argument even if you have all the glaring facts.
I've seen Koice concede twice, I've admitted I'm wrong in few occasions as well. But generally, both parties don't accept each other's stance.

*sigh*

From one silly argument to the other. We are not properly out of one argument before we land in another. Uninterested bystanders like us have to scour the thread to get one single movie review/recommendation, but if one should complain they will call us self-entitled and broke.

Person don taya for all these rubbish.
But when the argument was about gays, you enjoyed it, joined in the debate and even wrote this below.

Ishilove:
Hilarious comments.
Now that the argument doesn't interest you, you're complaining about movie recommendations. It'd have been a fair complaint if you'd said all this during the gay discussion which you found funny. I'm not in anyway trying to call you out, but like I've told you before, not every discussion would interest you, not every post would center on movies suggestions and discussions.

The ones you don't like, like how I clearly avoided the moon landing debate because it doesn't interest me, just ignore them. It'd be only a matter of time before a topic you have interest in, spring up.

I have noticed that Eruditors unquenchable taste for Raumdeauters dick have really dealt a huge blow to his reasoning faculty.

No need schooling him. Just like other barca ediots, He is always too emotional to think straight
I've known Eruditor as a staunch Pep loyalist which I have no problem with, but twisting the truth to win this particular debate is just laughable. Anyone that knows his onions in football, will never be biased regarding this issue.

Walker lost his place to Trippier based on his in-house behavior. It was never because he lost form or Trippier had at any point in time, been better than him. That's a fat lie. Walker is better all-round defender than Trippier. Trippier is a defensive liability but attacks well. A full-back that attacks but can't defend well, is a no-no for me. That's why TAA and Robertson are good examples of a balanced full-back including Walker of past seasons.

Pochettino gave the real reason he dropped Walker. You can read it from the horse's mouth, not hearsays, below.

Eruditor:
I have always maintained that most Chelsea supporters are Lemmings and your post epitomizes it. If I ask you to prove that Walker wanting to leave was the reason he was on the bench you can't. As if Rose did not want to leave himself yet they did not bench him that season.

The same you who is half-assing about blind people now mentioned Iheanacho whereas if you did a little research you would have known that Iheanacho left because he thought he would have first team opportunities in Leicester.

He always flops against teams with equal strength in the CL that he won twice? In 2008 when United were adjudged favorites to win the CL?

Oh God save Chelsea supporters.
Rose was injured and no top club was interested in taking him again after his injury, before his injury, United were interested in him with Shaw always being injury prone. Remember in that famous interview, Rose talked about wanting to leave before he retires to win titles and only top clubs bigger than Tottenham could give him that. After his interview in which he belittled Spurs, he had to work hard and make peace with Poch when he came back from injury before Poch could trust him again. It took a long time to get his place back.

Rose and Walker's scenarios are different. He wasn't seriously injured when Poch decided to bench him with Trippier. His attitude cost him his position because he wanted to move and Poch had to develop someone that'd continue when he's gone. Trippier has never been better than Walker unless in deliveries. Walker is a better defender than him and more versatile.

Many top 10 lists don't have 300 in it. 300 doesn't have the best slow mo or visual effects.

Watch mojo ( popular but don't respect them) put 300 at number 8 out of 10.

Cine fix, who put better reasoning behind their list didt pick 300 because they preferred watchmen and judge dredd among zack Snyders movies.
JeromeBlack, what did you smoke this afternoon? grin

Wetin concern us with critics' choice of best Snyder's movies? Na wa o. Were we debating his best movies? Or the influence of 300?

At bold, is that not a comparison?

Only a joker would claim that 300 took slow mo up a notch from the matrix.
Baba, watch The Matrix and 300 again, and then truthfully come here to shamelessly type that The Matrix had more slo-mo scenes than 300.

Even the person that said 300 had no stunning visuals emphasized IMMEDIATELY on its slo-mo scenes and said it took away 20 minutes of the film. When have anyone complained about The Matrix and his first complaint is too much slo-mo sequences?

Walahi, you dey fall my hands big time. Only a novice in movies would be debating this.
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 1:40pm On May 15, 2019
JeromeBlack:
When people think slow mo, 300 is never the thought in anyone's head. It was not perfected in that movie. Even among Zack Snyders movies 300 ranks slowly. In fact cinefix on YouTube picked watchmen and judge dredd out of Zack Snyders movies and not 300.

When people think of slow motion, no one thinks of 300. The first they think of is the matrix bullet time. The technique is different and many films haven't still gotten it right.

My issue is that you are over hyping 300. I never forgot the slow motion scenes Iin Judge Dredd and the Matrix but i can barely remember 300. The only thing i remember from 300 was the king kicking the black guy into the abyss....not because of the slow mo but because of the dialogue.
Dude, go and sleep. You are typing fallacies right now. Dude, no top movie reviewing site would ever review 300 and forger it's Era-defining slo-mo scenes. What else is there to talk about in its fight scenes if not the slo-mo fight scenes?

Did you even read the link Koice dropped? huh

KoiceReloaded:
I thought you were yanking his chain, but my God, you were flipping serious! shocked

- First and foremost, Matrix and 300 used slowmo differently. Where as 300 embellished on it, Matrix was matter of fact about it, mainly because it has a lot going on. Hence, when people think of Matrix, slowmo is usually not the first thought that pop into their head, where as 300 is synonymous with slowmo action scenes, for it's the loudest part of it.

- Second, Gizmodo is an unreliable source for this sort of thing. If you want a top 10 list look for Thrillist, Indiewire, Pastemagazine, and Esquire.

- Third, according to Thrillist, 300 is the most influencial movie of the new millenium

- Fourth, No one is equating Matrix to 300. They are two completely different movies
@emboldened, exactly. I don't which other way to explain to him for him to get it.
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 1:22pm On May 15, 2019
JeromeBlack:
See lies. Koice compared both movies first. (Check his comment below)

Another issue is that 300 should have never been on that list.
You're putting the cart before the horse.

Koice dropped HIS opinion on top 10 visually stunning movies of their generation. Both 300 and Matrix was on the list. There were no comparisons or hierarchy to rate which is more stunning. He's just listing them randomly and their impacts on other movies after them. He even explained the different influences both movies had in his initial post. Go check it out, it's still there.

Then Gmajor_ came online to say that 300 had no stunning visuals, that's when Koice tried to explain what influence a new perfectly created slowmo style of action sequences from 300 had on subsequent films like Spartacus: Gods of The Arena, Dredd remake etc. He's focusing on the slowmo fight style which wasn't so evident in any film before 300. It was so much thst it took 14 minutes of the entire film. State movies before 300 that had so much slowmo style of action in them like 300 before 300 came out.

It's during the debate that Koice tried to explain that Matrix had the style but 300 took to up a notch. There was never a comparison, just an explanation.

You're the one bringing up a comparison that's non-existent.
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 12:48pm On May 15, 2019
JeromeBlack:
So what is your point?

300 is not near one of the best examples of Zack Snyders slow motion technique.

Never put 300 and the matrix in the same sentence again.

Let me go and deal with Koice, the man that started this nonsense.
You're just arguing all over the place without a focused narrative.

Koice was taking about visuals and put Matrix amongst the films that revolutionized movies visuals.

In that list as well which 300 was in, Koice was hammering on its slow-motion laden style of action scenes which was distinct, and which other movies copied afterwards, movies like Dredd, Sherlock Holmes, etc.

The bone of contention was clear, nobody was comparing Matrix and 300 except you.

Both have contributions their different styles brought to movie making. That's what we've been try na tell you.

JeromeBlack:
Out of ignorance, the man spoketh.....

Go and read about "bullet time" filming technique from the matrix.

300 visuals were even criticised by the critics.

You a comparing a film (the matrix) the revolutionised other films, to 300, a film that was panned by critics in its early release?

You are talking about slow motion and I will tell you that the matrix has one of the best or.the best slow motion techniques known to Hollywood.

Even in some top ten lists about slow motion scenes in movies, 300 does not make it.
Matrix is always in such lists.

https://gizmodo.com/the-top-10-slow-motion-shots-of-all-time-1645966147/amp
Look at the kind of site you're quoting. I wonder if you've ever heard of the site in your life till you Googled few minutes ago.

I'm not doubting about The Matrix revolutionizing about how modern films were made. That's not the bone of contention. I also know about the bullet time technique and how many cameras it took to achieve it; I'm saying that 300 had more of those slow motion scenes/techniques/visuals than The Matrix. It formed the foundation of ALL the action scenes in 300. You can't say the same for Matrix

All these aggression doesn't change the fact. Even Alexistaiwo can testify about what I'm talking about. Koice has already explained what we meant and you agreed with him when you said "better", so why the blasphemy repetition? The slow motion visuals is the core of that movie and what made the movie stand out. I'm not trying to belittle The Matrix or its visuals, just pointing out that 300 had more perfected slow motion action depicted scenes than The Matrix
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Beorn: 9:27am On May 15, 2019
JeromeBlack:
Such blasphemy.
The slow motion action scenes visuals in 300 was more catchy, captivating and dope than that of The Matrix. The slow motion fight visuals is the most breathtaking aspect of 300 for me, not even the plot. Synder definitely focused on that aspect and made sure it stood out the most in that movie.

Yes, I support LGBTQ rights but there is a limit.
Even many LGBT community and the world in general, condemned Charlize. What she's doing is absolutely madness. She'd be jailed for it. What does a 5-years-old kid know about his sexuality? It's madness and sad what she's putting the kid through. She'd allow the child to grow up and discover if he's gay or not.
