3 things I will say about this news:
1. He sacked some family members from the company without stating (at least to us) if they will be placed on any benefits subsequently. They are also part owners by virtue of marriage and other relationships
2. He sacked quite some experienced hands (at least I remember Shomide, Igbodaga and Imoni Amarere very well), I hope he has garnered what it takes to build a replacement for them.
3. Some of them will swiftly be taken by other media houses i.e. Ambrose Shomide and a few others, therefore, company shake-up is normal but to be done with sense. Your late father built the company with this people and I understand it will be difficult for you to chair them all and also with the fact that they are mostly much older than you.
